El "tú" en Argentina no lo usamos pero lo entendemos perfectamente. Lo que se nos hace imposible de usar (y nos estalla el cerebro) es la conjugación de verbos del "vosotros". Eso hasta nos resulta irritante. 🤪

La palabra "capo" posiblemente viene del italiano: "capo" que significa "jefe". Es decir: cuando alguien es autoridad en algo, o muy bueno o el jefe ...Excelente video..Gracias por el contenido!

posiblemente no, ES del italiano (: muchas palabras son también del dialecto napolitano, porque la mayoría de inmigrantes eran de Nápoles, "pibe" que es directamente "pivello" novato o niño en dialecto

Yo pienso lo mismo. La palabra capo, en italiano significa jefe. Lo más probable es que esta palabra que forma parte de la jerga, sobre todo de Bs. As, provenga de ahí.

Si y el "che" tambien viene del italiano que ellos lo usan en su sugnificado real que es "que?". Pero aqui se lo uso a manera de lunfardo para decir "hey" u "oye".

9:38 No viene del "really" , viene del prefijo Latin "RE" osea repetir algo para aumentar su intensidad "Cargar" + RE = "Recargar" , RE = el doble. El equivalente del "really" seria "realmente" en todo caso.

A mí me gusta mucho cuando un argentino pronuncia el "sho" como posho en lugar de pollo o plasha en lugar de playa, aprendí muchas de sus palabras y frases por ver rebelde way jajaja, siempre he querido ir de turista a argentina, me llena mucho la atención, algún día será, espero no haga mucho frío 😅🤗 saludos desde México 🇲🇽

Hola Carlos! Justo puse en un comentario que este es el momento ideal para conocer Argentina básicamente para cualquier habitante del planeta porque el peso está por el piso. Lamentable para nosotros pero conveniente para los turistas. En cuanto al clima, depende a qué parte del país vayas y en qué estación. En verano hace mucho calor en casi todo el país, incluso en la Patagonia. Yo fui a Bariloche en febrero de este año y me bañé en todos lados, aunque el agua de lagos y ríos es obviamente fría. Y si conoces el sur en invierno vas a encontrar nieve. Hay para todos los gustos

i was learning spanish.. then i got pretty far and got unmotivated and quit. but then the universe gave me a friend that moved to my school from honduras, and knows NO english! it motivated me to keep practicing and learning for my own personal reasons and for this new friend! we bond and get along so well, and we’re like best friends now! and what is so interesting is that i speak very little english and half the time i don’t understand him! it amazes me how two people can be such great friends despite language barriers. and it amazes me how great 2 friends can be just by bonding over a language. you inspire me nate😄

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I’m from the US but my family is from Mexico. I have Spanish, Peruvian, and Colombian friends. We all think that the Argentinian Spanish is the most pretentious of all the different accents. It doesn’t sound bad or improper but it’s annoying.

Cuando yo comencé aprender español para un viaje de Argentina, mi profesora era de Argentina (Mar del Plata) y yo hable español con un acento argentino. Yo fue acostumbrado para hablar "sho me shamo Andrés, ¿vos sos una tanguera? Ahora he estudiado español con mis profesoras venezolanas pero yo estoy acostumbrado a pronunciar los S en silencio!

I LOVE argentinian spanish so so much!! ANY argentinian accent is like music to my ears y para mi el español argentino es lo mejor del mundo, el acento, las frases, la melodia... todo se mezcla en un armonía perfecta!! Btw funny fact: In the greek language we are using "re" almost exactly like "che"... It doesn't really mean anything, it doesn't even have a translation, but it's like a form of expression (good one or a bad one, it depends on the context of the conversation!! Btw why isn't anyone commenting on how beautiful Camila is?? She is gorgeous!! (And this comment comes from a woman!) Anyways- amazing video!

I thought about Re in Greek too because I'm from Melbourne, Australia and we have the second biggest Greek population outside of Athens so we say "Re malaka!" when calling friends etc. So, clearly Re is Hey in this context.

"Che y Vos" No se usan en formal. Solo informal. El significado de "Che" seria "hombre" aunque no lo usamos en ese sentido. "Che Boludo" es de mucha confianza. Los Argentinos no son agrandados, tienen orgullo de serlo. Conoce Argentina y conocerás la humildad y solidaridad de la gente en general

Urban legend: in Argentina everyone says "sho me shamo..." In Argentina there are very different accents; like the ones spoken in Córdoba, Misiones, Salta, etc.

"vos" and "voce" is the same comes from latin also "tu" because spanish and portuguese are latin languages (romance).

“Vos” is used in all central America as well, but we are always ignored by the rest of Latin America. And yeah, “você” in Brazil depends on the region, sometimes “você” can be more formal than “tu” and sometimes is just the equivalent

@@alexmga9303 Hi, i'am Brazilian, "você" it's not a formal word, quite the contrary, it's a very informal word, and if not used correctly it can even be a rude word. "tu" is used in some regions of Brazil, but more than 80% of Brazilians use "você" instead of "tu", the word "vos" also exists in Brazilian Portuguese, it is a pronoun that represents the second person plural, but almost no one uses this word.

Mi profesora aprendio espanol en Argentina, pero no hablaba con ese accento. She taught us the ll = y accent, vosotros and those verb forms, etc. It confused me for a long while when people referred to the Argentinian Spanish accent as so different! Muy fascinante, Nate!

Los Argentinos son los italianos de sudamerica , por ejemplo el movimiento que hacen con la mano para decir “ni idea” se hace en italia tmb, eso porque el 60% de los Argentinos tiene parientes italianos y muchas cosas de la idioma han cambiado y se parecen a el italiano, el accento se parece mucho tmb 🇮🇹❤️🇦🇷

It's common for English teachers in Argentina to be able to speake/write/understand Portuguese, it's one of the requirements in the career, the other one is french. My sister is also an English teacher, she is the one helping me out with this lenguage since I'm 8 or 9 years old. Camila has such a beautiful English, so does my sister! You would have to come to Argentina soon. I recommend you Cordoba, San Luis, and in Buenos Aires, You can visit my city, Mar del plata.

Dato: En realidad el vos a parte de que se usa en Argentina, Uruguay y Nicaragua, se usa en casi toda centro américa con excepción de panamá, se utiliza en alrededor de 4 regiones de Colombia, se usa en el sur de México, se usa en Bolivia, Paraguay, Venezuela, el vos es muy utilizado en américa latina en donde dos terceras partes de la región voseamos

En el interior de Argentina también tenemos la costumbre de ponerle el artículo a los sustantivos propios por ejemplo "Ahí viene la Carlita o Ahí viene el José", cuando la RAE prohíbe hacer este uso. Somos capos en eso, igual si algo está mal hecho decimos "Eso ta'mal" en vez de "Eso está mal" y si tas en Salta ponemos al final "ao" como por ejemplo "Yo he andao mucho hoy"

So many similarities to the Brazilian Portuguese We also use that hand gesture to say “no idea”; When someone is really good at something they are called craque or crack; We use “você” which is a really contracted word: vossa mercê - vossemecê - vosmecê - você; Our gauchos also say “Che” all the time; Also the way we say bye: ciao - chau- tchau.

I'm brazilian and over here argentinians are called "os hermanos" or "os boludos" lol. in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which borders Argentina, they use the word "tchê" in the same way as in Argentina. they also use the word "tri" meaning "very, this comes from french "très" from what i know, maybe thats where the word "Re" comes from as well?

In my experience as a fellow californian who learned spanish in school/college/immersion/travel, argentine spanish is the easiest to hear (next to gringo spanish) and spaniard is the most difficult...however, the clearest english as a second language speakers I've been around were spaniards---even easier to understand than native californians with english as a second language (actually nate's english is a little hard for me to understand too)

No. “Re” no viene del inglés, es un prefijo más viejo que la caspa, viene del latín. Si quieren saber origen y uso de palabras y expresiones, por favor consulten al profesor Esteban Giménez.

The thing ive noticed abt the Argentinian accent is that they sound like Italians the way the tone has a music to it, its like an Italian speaking Spanish, they also do not pronounce the" S " , and the "J" is pronounced as "H", and i do find it the most sexiest accent of all

Dropping the "s" is dialectal and not at characteristic of all Argentinian speakers. In other words, dropping the "s" is widespread only in certain regions. In provinces where the "s" isn't dropped as a standard, it is found mostly among the working class. It's also worth-mentioning that speakers from the province of Santa Fe and small towns in the Province of Buenos Aires substitute the final "s" with "j"- which sounds pretty close to an English "h" and not as palatal as that in European Spanish.

La "s" depende del lugar pero por ejemplo en Chile directamente no existe. La J no es como la H en inglés, es más fuerte. La H en español es muda.

Está mal decir "español argentino". Se llama español rioplatense. Es compartido entre Argentina y Uruguay. Y dependiendo de la zona a la que uno vaya, el acento cambia (y también la pronunciación y palabras usadas en unos lugares que otros no). Pero el español es el mismo.

Sí, pero hay diferencias en varias palabras. No es exactamente igual. Además de referencias totalmente locales. Los argentinos tenemos muchos dichos y palabras que tienen que ver con nuestra geografía, composición social e Historia. Eso hace a la manera de hablar. Yo hace muy poco me empecé a dar cuenta que no formulo las ideas de la misma manera que un mexicano, por ejemplo, y que un uruguayo tampoco. Al margen de que estuvimos unidos en un pasado, estoy casi segura que no me expreso igual. A esto se le suma que Argentina es bastante extensa, por eso el rioplatense acá tiene muchas variedades por los diversos acentos. Mantiene sus rasgos característicos, pero que lo hable un cordobés es muy diferente a que lo hable un porteño o una persona de la Patagonia. Supongo que para titular así, quiso englobar todo esto.

@@lucianamartinez3958 Sí. Es obvio. Argentina es más grande y ahí encontrás más variedad de acentos y palabras entre provincias. Acá no tanto porque es más chico. Es lógico. Aunque acá hay palabras que no las usan ahí. Botija, ondulín, plancha, etc. Pero bueno, el español rioplatense es 95% el mismo.

En realidad la mayor parte del país está en 3 provincias , todo se se "cocina" en esas tres provincias q son Buenos Aires, Santa Fe y Córdoba.

Em Portugal o "Tu" é para amigos e pessoas da família ou da nossa idade. "Você" para pessoas mais velhas e com mais respeito usamos o "Senhor". Português europeu se for o Português do Brasil já é diferente.

the _voseo_ thing also occurs in at least parts and/or accents of: Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, ...and then almost every country in Central America, as far as i know on the other hand, indeed not in Rioplatense Argentinian Spanish, but there's some province/s of Argentina where they do use some kind of mixing of voseo with tuteo: i think it was either they mix the pronoun _tú_ with the verb 'conjugation' for voseo, such as "tú tenés" (called i think "tuteo pronominal", and then "voseo verbal" or something like that); or the other way around: a mixing of the voseo pronoun with the tuteo verb 'conjugation': "vos tienes", in a form termed as voseo pronominal, and i think, correspondingly, tuteo verbal. one of these variants also occurs in Uruguayan Rioplatense, though mixing it with the regular pronominal and verbal voseo too

En Costa Rica si se usa el voseo pero principalmente en San José, y en vez de "che" decimos "di" o "díay" o "deay", sin embargo se usa igual.

Lo que encuentro extraño es que aquí en el sur de Brasil es el único lugar donde decimos "tu" en lugar de "você". Pensé que era una influencia del español, pero ahora lo pienso mejor, tal vez no ... O tal vez los argentinos y uruguayos solían hablar 'tu' en el pasado pero luego cambiaron a 'vos' ... Además, en Portugal, "tu" se usa como informal y 'você' es formal. Sin embargo, en Brasil, ambos son informales. Usamos 'o senhor' para hombres y 'a senhora' para mujeres como formal.

El CHE tiene función de vocativo. Tengo entendido el "vos" y el "voce" tienen raíces etimologicas diferentes. El gesto de "ni idea" es parte del sistema gestual del italiano, en USA mantuvo el significado original mientras que en argentina se lo resignificó. Y el RE es como dice el amigo Juan debajo que viene del Latin. Saludos!

Nate, tenés que hablar con alguien del norte de Argentina. Allí el acento es muy raro. Pronuncian la rr un poco como una sh. Por ejemplo, "el perro se llama juan" suena a "el pesho se llama juan" y a veces hay acentos mezclados. Por ejemplo, si un chico tiene un padre de Buenos Aires y otro de La Rioja, pronuncia esa frase "el pesho se shama Juan".
