@@Drisco757 BMC Thomas, but I’m retired now. I liked recruiting out there because if I looked out for the hood, the hood looked out for me. I’ve rather recruit over there than some rich folks place because I couldn’t relate with the people. I felt more at home in the hood, plus I could help people out. This was around 2009-2011.

Gangs were made back in the day to fight against racism and capitalism. It was made to hold their own, make money for their community by any means possible. The meaning to a “gang” shifted around, it’s different. It’s complicated, but there are definitely more ways to find yourself off the streets nowadays. It is a matter of luck sometimes and more power to them, but again you have to play your cards right. A real G just wants to see his/her peoples succeed and eat good. And a real man/woman will always find a way to make money for their peoples, back in the day that was either pushin or pimpin, it’s still like that but rappers shouldn’t drag the youth today into that lifestyle, atleast tell the kids today to learn how they can focus on school.

Back when it first started the first generation use to kick it with SS35TH till the beef started with my dad's generation. I believe our neighborhood started in 1962.

@@chopstix4019 back then they us to go to Carl Hayden and that was the only high school for our area both 35th and southern Meadows use to attend there and Hollywood so when the og's were fighting with 35th back then Hollywood had our neighborhood back because we rep 39th ave same as them even tho they from the Westside it didn't matter what side you were from and thats how our Varrios became homies we still to this day have a couple og's from Hollywood living in Southern Meadows the respect will always be there.
