@@jesserodriguez8964 Oh boy are you so extremely wrong about his strength back then. Ermes was much much stronger than Matt, in a completely different league. Every single round Matt "won" he started with his wrist already deeply cupped just before ready go, it was extremely horrible refereeing that got Ermes beat... In afterpulling they were both equally fresh and both pulled hard yet Ermes was toying with him. It was like dad vs 5yo child
@@BKGclan4LIFE penguinz0 to the commentary : "Matt slaps your cheek so hard you actually feel it in your nuts like a horse kicked there using both legs" Or some of these comments he always comes up with lol
Matt expends so much nervous energy and adrenaline arguing and getting worked up, I’m not surprised he lost as he’s running on empty before they start.
With the 2 of them it really is a case of who fires first will get the pin. Ermes definitely has the edge atm, but Matt really isn't that far behind. Good match, Matt is right, there will have to be a trilogy match now. Hopefully better advertising/promotion!
Absolutely. I agree Ermes has trained way harder & longer for this fight but what shocked me that Matt having just trained 6 weeks or so, could pin this Stronger version of Ermes once atleast.
The refs manipulated their entire bodies right into the actual pulling..the rounds that matt lost the refs had him starting more opened up while ermes was starting fully tight/close to body. Not saying it was intentional but basically you could see he was gonna lose based on their relative starting positions before the rounds even started
@@hannibalbarca6308 true. And what about that Cupped wrist which Ermes maintained all-through out even before they went into straps except that 3rd round when Matt negated it? Matt was rightly pointing out the cupped wrist of Ermes repeatedly but for vain. Anyways.....Ermes took it this time and we definitely the trilogy to happen.
Look at the false start attempt from Matt in the round he won, it didnt get called out and it looks like he got a siginificant positional advantage afterwards. Still impressive that he got a pin on ermes, but i dont think a third match would be any different even if matt had more time to train
It looks, that Mask almost everytime loses his rising hold in his top-roll hit. And this may be the main gamechanger. But the starting position was a little bit disadvantageous for him from this angle of wiew... But I may be wrong... Lose or win, I like his matches. Gasparini is a beast - that's for sure.
I just really love Matt mask’s energy . I mean like he is so energetic to eyes . Whether he is on a winning side or a losing doesn’t matter . One of my fav .
You have to be aggressive to pull the most strength from your body. Imagine trying to deadlift 300kg laughing and joking around, it would be much harder than going in there cranked out of your mind.
You fukin people he is from Canada where they have to live in winters for more than half of the year. That's why when Canadians go out, they feel too much hot and sweat too much. Have some sense brothers.
Matt knew Ermes was op and was using psychological distraction to disrupt his concentration and technique like Devon. The problem is, Ermes is simply too strong. He is young. Gonna see more potential from Ermes.
The huge importance of the setup is the great failure of armwrestling as a sport. It puts off spectators, and kind of deligitimises the competition because it's hard to know if someone wins because they are better from a fair setup, or they were better at getting the unfair setup they wanted. Probably no solution immediately obvious, but it's hard to see armwrestling ever becoming say an olympic sport no matter how popular it gets with the start of so many matches being such a farcical procedure.
Agreed. Matches like these are proof for your statement. This was hard to watch, even for a fan of armwrestling. As long as the athletes can't play 100%fair and can't restrain themselves you'll probably need some kind of machine that fixates the athletes' posture and hand position until the start of a round...
Love how as men we can go from ripping each other’s arms off to laughing and shaking hands in the same sentence. This match was the epitome of that lol!
Matt makes the show 🤣, the way he slaps the table is most interesting part of the match haha poor table 🤣. Anyway great performance from both, keep it that way and make your fans happy
After Ermes won the second match I thought "Ermes 2.0" popped up on the screen, I was like that's savage. Turns out it was the score but it made sense lol. Awesome match 👏🏻 Matt did well.
I'm no expert, but to me, Matt is like a dragster. He is powerful for a short period of time, so he has to capitalize on that. But his weekness is that initial top roll hit being caught by his opponents. I love Matt and hope he develops more endurance!
@@BBRRUUSS Mask basically said if Ermes gets any cup at all he becomes a freight train but wrist straight he feels much weaker. Basically anyone training for Ermes should train tons of cup (same thing, lack of cupping power let Devon steamroll Todd)
@@nebulouscalamity6338 I watched that livestream on Matt’s channel he did say that. A straight fair wrist Ermes is vulnerable their match was all about positions. Anyway Matt gave credit to Ermes and said the better man won that day and thanks to Ermes it lit a fire in him to train harder and get stronger. Matt plans to continue training and plans to reach 275- 280lbs. He has the frame to do it imo at 6’5. Other than that Matt and Ermes are two great athletes.
8:52 "Ermes hates Matt", has a clear win in his hands and just pin the guy, showing huge sportsmanship and respect. Larrat calling him "buddy" and whatever, treat him like a joke when they pull in WAL. Tell me how Devon is a good ambassador of the sport...
devon try to be as asshole as he could in WAL matches, he try to irritate his opponent, it's his game, also ermes never hate matt, he's just want to revenge his loss, that's why he's on fire
Ermes is a great sight - pretty boi, awesome condition, breathing on point, pure focus - a pleasure to watch! Matt is at fault himself for false-starting 2 times and gassing out too early. He had a chance to win otherwise, it looked like a pretty even match.
