Worked with Matt in the oil patch. Great guy to work with and just hang out. Learned a lot from him. Back in the day on the oil drilling rigs Matt would have the crew over to practice arm wrestling after work to prepare for his competition. He encouraged me to train for competition arm wrestling. I wish I would have cut out one of my 3 jobs and done as he said.

That's a great point I'm surprised they never tried to recruit him.. even if it was just like trash talking in the ring and a few post-interview brawls.

I think he might mean it literally, instead of trying to be alpha. Like the angle the other guy's arm was in was so wierd, if Devon slammed it down he could have actually broken that guys arm. The commentators even said that he forced the other guy to pin himself otherwise he'd break his arm.
@@blackstag9366 That's not how it works pal, the reason why Matt pinned himself is because he doesn't want to waste anymore of his energy when Devon just sucks his strength so he does that to preserve his remaining energy for the next round. If it's Devon it won't just work if they're on a war when it's in a stalemate position. They've been the best buddies and have known each other for years so he knows what's best for him.

Love this match two of my favorite arm wrestlers ever, they have done and still doing so much for the sport. It's cool to watch how they both exhibit nervous energy in completley different ways :)

Notice how Devon is legitimately the only guy who doesn’t get his arm rubbed and shaken in between matches! That is how solid that man is, that is a level of stamina from just have tens of thousands hours of experience and the hardest training guy in the game he is a nascar but one that can run through brick walls

Only found Devon on you tube a few weeks ago and the mans,s a legend. Needs a film made or documentary at least. Had to watch this full battle after seeing it on one of the compulations 😂💪✌
Nobody can doubt Matt’s strength. The guys a animal and he gave Devon a hard time, had his head shaking which is the only real sign that Devon is having a rough time
Buddy, he made Matt quit on 2 pulls. Devon always shakes his head, especially when going up against hard hitters. His hit was 2.0 points above Devons. You can look up any match with Devon and see him shake.
Devon is job security for Bart, he loves him. also, the scam here is bart pretend to hate Devon. he calls Devon out on the captain obvious stuff to put a sho on for us to think its fair, but Bart is Devon biggest Allie in victory.
I'm a huge Devon fan, but Matt should have been up 2 to 1. That was absolutely a pin. Freeze 9:20 and look for the moment when you can see Devon's hand right at the level of the pad (maybe even under it, even at this angle). Since we're seeing this at a slight angle above the table (after all, we see the back pad clearly above the front pad), Devon being "at" the pad would mean his hand was actually under it.
100% agree. Reffing in Armwrestling really is a huge problem. No VAR or challenge is ridiculous, especially in a sport with such small margins. Same thing with the current events like KOTT or EvW, which have had atrocious reffing decisions as in the Devon Genadi match for example.
Mask is incredibly talented, and he doesn't even train for it like he should since he has to work. Problem is, as huge as he is he's barely 250 pounds, for today's super-heavyweight's standards that's too small. He, like Devon, competed at 225 for years, against today's monsters his weight would always be an issue.
You see, for people with real warrior hearts would have just headbutted the honourless coward so he would have remembered...its like fake rap! If you wont do it dont say it. Devon is a poor champion, he should have more class, he did loose to Matt!!!
Except Devon IS humble. Shit-talking during the match-up is just mental games and fun, it's like WWE.. but after the match and outside the match, he's always super friendly and humble as far as I can gather. He isn't full of himself at all as far as thinking he's invincible and all that silly stuff. He's realistic. Devon has been saying for years that Matt can definitely beat him. Devon even told Matt how to beat him (Devon), in a youtube video after the match (and before that). He doesn't hold anything back. Even if that was coupled as a mind game, but still lol.

This sport needs to get alot more media coverage...the intensity and drama are top level...also, can't get enough of Larratt, the dude is a charisma magnet and I'd like to see him on an American TV show
The interesting thing is you can have rivalries that cover a couple decades. It's worth investing in learning about these guys because it can pay off for years and years.

+DeRanged Gaming - "I will break you" was a genuine warning. Matt was in a terrible position, so Devon quite possibly could have broken his arm if he wanted.

11:24, when Larratt said that " i would break you" , i think it was because at the moment Matt Mask move in front, his arm would break easy and i think Larratt just wanted to prevent his opponent that the arm could break at this point ^^

Once Devon wins he has a look that comes over him like he’s a completely different person. He plays so much of the mental game and once he wins he drops it and back to nice ole Devon I know from jujis vids
