How did they NOT call Devon pulling early start in round 1, then climbing Genadi's hand (sneakily tightening straps himself) cheating nonstop for advantange, and then CUPPING his wrist, while Genadi is saying "no" he's not ready to start, but referrees ignore all of that. But WAAAH OMG 😭, they called an elbow foul during round 1😭 Keep crying, he got karma'd lmao
I'm not saying the outcome would be different. But if they're going to call fouls, the obvious ones shouldn't be overlooked. Genadi pulled elbow off his pad again, check 16:11.
yup, reaches def the top three of the most unacceptable ref decisions in armwrestling. Its also soo obvious and visible in the footage. The ref saw everything, still decided to fuck Devon that first round. Wont support any more ppv for EvW.
That's clearly what I'm trying to say here. He clearly got robbed and if it wasn't for the bad refereeing at the first round, It would've been a win for Devon by 3-2 but still Genadi dogs will still bark in the comments.
1st round was so bad... That foul called on Devon didnt exist, and then Genadi did a false start, which was pretty much visible at naked eye, to win the round. Better referees are needed, and also use VAR (Video Assistant Referee) to call out bad ref decisions. This is a sport where every milisecond counts, and that is the difference between a win or loss. This 1st round was such, and the VAR could have reverted that bad decision.
It's very hard to officiate an arm wrestling match especially when both athletes are trying to fight for every millimetre of hand position They should have a laser-guided table so it both hands are dead center of the table.
False start like every round bro 😂 the 2nd win he got you could literally watch him roll his shoulder into before the ref pulled his hands off idk feel like dude was a lil robbed this match
I think Devon working the refs hard can backfire, it causes the refs to focus on him and miss the opponent. That said, I think the stronger armwrestler won nonetheless, round 5 was very telling
10:05 look at how the ref pushes Larratt's hand down and at the same time raises Genadi's hand. It is even mentioned by Larratt that he pushed his hand down. 14:01 ref does it again. Notice how he puts his hand on top of Larratt's hand and his other hand below Genadi's hand, as if he is slightly pushing it higher. 15:55 ref does it again. Notice the down pressure on Larratt's hand and not pushing down on Genadi. 20:16 Devon notices it too. Says "don't pull me down". Now look at how the ref handles Genadi's hand. 23:12 Devon notices the ref pulls him off center. He complains. 24:30 Notice the ref puts more downward pressure on Devon's hand. Devon becomes frustrated and indicates that the ref is buying time, letting Genadi recover. 27:30 Now honestly look at the shoulders. Ref claims Devon's not in position. Look at it. 29:17 Devon once again directly asks the ref not to pull his hand down. Another obvious one... 9:07 Genadi's elbow lifts of pad; 9:10 Genadi's elbow lifts of pad; what does the ref do? 9:12 calls foul on Larratt for letting elbow 'out'. Go look at it and notice the difference of each time stamp I mention here. Looking at it again, from 9:05 to 9:12 => i'm fairly sure the ref notices the first time Genadi's elbow left the pad, (focus on his eyes)... seconds later he moves his head to the right and calls a foul on Larratt. The ref in the back is looking at Genadi, but somehow doesn't notice that his elbow left the pad twice?
@@EnsigWahrens And I didn't even mention that they ignore Genadi's elbow leaving the pad at crucial moments. But they call it the moment Larratt presses through; Larratt actually won that round, but it is just a foul for Genadi.
@@giorgi553 Your guy won a 3v1 "duel". I didn't think I'll write such a comment, until I've seen the footage. It was awful. The ref was actively working with Genadi. Sorry. It is what it is.
A lot of people hate on Devon for trash talking his opponents or boasting too much.. but he is a class act when being defeated. You can't have any more sportsmanship or professionalism than that. 💯
9:06 you can see Genadi lifted 100% his elbow and the referee didn't say nothing. In 10:46 you can see 100% clear that Genadi started and 0.5 second later the referee said GO. It's obvious that if you start before the referee say GO, the other contender will be of guard and will lose. Very disappointed to see a match where one of the contenders didn't respect the rules and the referee didn't do anything. I hope this sport can develop in the future like a VAR in football that can see the unfair situations that humans sometimes can't see. This match is not valid. NO 'OPANA' this time for Genadi. Period.
It seems the Europeans have a cheating system in place,The Refs need to remove their hands from the center and then say don't move then go.Soon as the Refs remove their hands the Cheaters go for the pin or move their hands right at the word go...That's fishy...Just remove the refs hands and they consistently have to say go within 1 seconds at all times and unless someone moves between the refs moving their hands and saying go,you are fouled.
Denis Cyplenkov in one of his interviews mentioned that there should be light signal for "GO" that will make it very easy to spot false starts on replays.
What BS calls? There was ONE questionable call in the first round, then after that, they both tried to get advantages with their hands and shoulders.. Genadi just got away with more.. That is Arm-Wrestling.. Watch ANY Devon match, and Devon ALWAYS gets away with cheating his hand and shoulder. Its his bread and butter.. Devon has done this his entire career, yet one match goes against him and everyone crying.. Its so hilarious..
@@johannsmith5697 The sport is very retarded in the regards that there's basically no rules or system that can be implemented to prevent Devon's shenanigans, or michael todd's for that matter. the competitors basically have to be fair or else the sport turns into a clown show.
10:09, put this in 0.25 speed and you will see Genadi having moved his hand entirely out of the grips of the ref before he says go, one of the craziest false starts I’ve ever seen.
In case y'all didnt know, they dont call the small bobble fouls like genadi did in round one. But they do call any amount of elbow off the surface area of the pad, they even made the pads larger and said no elbow off the surface area is acceptable. They made the right call according to the rules.
Fucking ridiculous wasn't it. Devon about to win, Genadi twice lifts his elbow a little bit, foul out Devon. I don't smoke crack but I would try whatever the refs were smoking.
Good, this is sending a message to Devon that the reffing n rules of WAL is a thing of the past.. they both had fouls not called on them.. get over it. It was a great match. If anything, the first round foul on Devon made the match 10x better.
@@gertscheepers4211 Yeah, exactly. The devs go into the match knowing that Devon will fight the refs and talk to them. They are distracted, focusing on Devon and don't look at the opponent. Leaving Gendadi to get away with a alot.
@@Blackpill149 umm, every single Heavyweight Arm Wrestling match is "unfair", especially when Devon pulls.. All Devon does is cheat and try to get an advantage.. Devon is finally on the receiving end of a bad call and everyone is crying cuz they hold immense bias. I think the problem is, all you newgen fanboys simply have no clue what you are looking at, and dont know how Arm Wrestling works, or the rules.
Гена показал как нужно с Ларратом бороться. Больше грязи, больше читерства, заряжать плечо со старта, дергать, спорить с судьями. Всё как делает сам Ларрат всегда.
Travis Bagent, amazing communtating! I really appreciate how Travis explains what is going on, breaking down what's going on step by step between the competitor and what the expectations are from the referee! Just like Joe Rogan being the best commentator for UFC, Travis is the best commentator for armwrestling! Great sportsmanship from Devon Larratt and I was very surprised Genadi Kvikvinia took the win, great battle!
@@trekker7530 I like devon and was rooting for him in this match but it’s hilarious that fans are blaming refs for a devon loss. Dude games the system for years and gets away with murder
Referee not FAIR at all to Devon!!!!!!!! And what the heck with SHOULDER!!! this rule is nonsense and need to be DELETED!! Just Start when arms READY!!
@@user-bm7td2wo5fNot some Devon fanboy either but that first elbow foul at 9:07 on Genadi’s part but was never called, then fouling devon a few sec later is a maddening start
Round 1- Genadi elbow jumping. Round 4- Early start by Genadi, Referee looking like a sitting duck there. Round 5- Let's replay the round 4 again. What a fkn match.
@Ayyedillon no it doesnt... Devon is objectively weaker than Genadi in almost every single area. But strength is not what determines a win by itself. Devon is actually one of the weaker heavyweights in terms of lifting and strength. For example, Genadi has far superior grip n hand strength over Devon, way more back pressure, stronger pronation, stronger curls n bicep,.. list goes on and on.. This is why Devon relies more on tricks and little cheats to win.. if I want to see how weak Devon is when it comes to pre brute strength, watch his vids from him sit-down Arm Wrestling from early-mid 2000s.. it's not his strong point at all.
Devon Larratt is always fun to watch at these events because he's such a great sportsman... and never a sore loser. That always makes him a big winner in my eyes :)
Genadi won but he didn’t beat Devon & I don’t respect it. That ref was clearly biased against Devon. Go back to the rules announcement video where Engin explained that there will be 3 mins in between rounds and see what that exact ref said to Devon then. Devon was fighting against Genadi & the ref. Either way, if one of the best super heavyweights can only beat Devon in this manner, then Devon proved that he’s more than a match for the super heavyweights. If Devon can be more ruthless and focused next time, he’ll clean sweep Genadi.
Devon clearly is not the fafoured anymore !He lacks one importend detail: enough horsepower to go through the defense of his opponents. Dave Chaffee is gone be easy money for Devon but the next important match (Cyplenkov) will be another downscore for Mr. Larret... What next? Jerry? wait for it!
Devon had not enough power and endurance in last round. You guys are ugly. There is no kind of respect to any guy. Only crying if something went wrong with Devon. Even Devon itself gave Genadi his respectl. Devon is one of the biggest cheater in the game and is trying to win the fight with most ugly skills (like vs Dave). And you defend everything... children.
I think having one assistant on each side that would ensure that shoulder positions are kept would be beneficial for the sport overall. Everytime the REF keeps screaming to move the shoulder forward, the athlete adjusts for like 3 seconds and then pulls the shoulder back anyway....
@@EnsigWahrens u are crying fanboi of That cheater Devon laratt he is clearly using his shoulder to the advantage... His setup is always biased and horrible
@@Brenton-xc2fg You guys are so blind and ignorant... Genadi did an early false start *every single round* and it never got called out! Furthermore, he lifted his elbow from the pad multiple times and the ref was only focused on Devon... Get well soon.
Devon should've been up 1 to 0 but the refs saved Genadi! Then clearly left Genadi jump the start multiple times! This in my opinion was a completely blown match and Larratt handled it with class in order to not tarnish the sport. I think if ref'd properly it'll go the other way in a close match.
One of the biggest failures I've ever seen from a pair of referees. That's what I absolutely loved about the WAL, even when the athletes are being difficult, the calls were very evenly distributed. That was not the case here. Every shoulder movement was called on Devon, yet the referees forgot Genadi even had a shoulder. Genadi had a blatant elbow foul that wasn't called, yet when Devon's elbow came off the pad it was called even though Genadi pushed him off.
@@viliuxr If you see there, both making the same elbow foul, but nobody gets the call. thats fine. but the main coment is talking about 9:07 when both make the same but devon gets tha call. that cost the match. that round was for devon in any world.
the most fucked up part. Just obeserve the refs eyes in that scene. The ref CLEARLY looked at Genadis lifted elbow and immediatly pushed his attention to Devons side to start to call a foul on him. I wish i could get my money back. That was the last time i pay for that shit. Rigged, scuffed, bought, broken event.
Referee call on round 1 changed the entire match. Devon's shoulder wasn't out of the pad. Good job to Genady for the win, but this match should have ended 3-1 for Devon.
Would have been 3-0, Devon won the next two rounds. It would have been an absolute shutout. Also considering Devon would have bled Genadi dry in the position he was sitting at in round one when the ref cheated him.
This match was so frustrating, I feel like if Devon even TRIED to kings move Genadi would either force it into a foul or the refs would just foul it outright, I’d love to see the rematch as soon as possible with different refs
Hold up "stop him from full power loading"? He is tensing his arm to ready him-self before the match is started, the hell you mean that should be a foul?; this comment is dumb as fuck man, and on top of that you just described it like this is some anime shit. 😂
@@trekker7530 Youve commented this on 10 different posts. You think these refs were so fair then please explain 9:06 then. Genadis elbow comes off the mat twice with the ref looking right at it yet Devon gets called the foul for no reason. The ref doesnt even have the right angle to call devon out, the ref in back does and isnt calling it cause its not there. You clearly have your bias too because Genadis shoulder is always out too but they only physically adjust devons. Just look at 14:43 and pause, thats how the match starts after another adjust of devons shoulder, leaving Genadi in a power position.
The MAIN Problem is that Genadi had too much time to restore his energy and thats more than two minutes probably. Devons says GO because he knows that Genadi was exhausted, but… as you can see, refers didn’t said go, and Genadi got energy back.
From now, until he retires, i'm gonna comment: there will never be a more complete armwrestler than Devon. He's the best. Might not be the strongest Human on the planet . But he's the best, by a landslide!
I think that the match was all about "tricks" and "cheating" by the judges. I love Genadi and Devon but I did not like to see that. If armwresling wants to be a popular sport, that kind of cheating by the judges and the opponents at the beginning of the match shall never be tolerated. Like Esteemed Devon said: Just start the match! If they can not agree on a particular grip, then pull with a machine. Otherwise, just start the match. Else, armwresling will become a game where the judges decides who wins the game, no matter what really happened when the athletes pulled. It is a match to forget in my opinion. Devon and Genadi will have to pull again, as this was not a clear victory by Genadi. It was a "technical victory before the athletes pulled".
If Devon woulda just shut his mouth in round 1 he woulda beat Ganadi but instead, he had to be a showboat once again and screwed up and fouled. He is his own worst enemy sometimes.
Yep I agree. The ref was trying to cause Devon to lose. He was folding Devon up like a pretzel before the start. Devon needed to stretch out a little bit to get the power in that he needed. He was so worried he allowed the other guy to put his shoulder, wherever the crap he wanted.
@@Grits420 1. Genadi false started a lot 2. Ref called incorrect elbow foul 3. Genadi made a huge elbow foul right before Devon's "elbow foul" that was not called, foul in a loosing position is an automatic win for Devon, the ref in the middle, was directly looking at it, and made *no calls* 4. That's not even the bad part, his shoulders are almost fully turned before the start. Not even pretending to square them up. He also false starts, but this one isn't as bad as round one.

cant believe this judges, first that huge mistake first round when genadi raised his elbow so high and they didnt see it, and then that shoulder abuse to Devon i cant believe it
