It was in the battle of midway all the Japanese carriers got sunk Akagi Hiryu Kaga Soryu All got sunk USS Yorktown was the only carrier sunk in the battle of midway USS Hornet and USS Enterprise left unscarred
Such a great ship. Too bad she was scrapped and only the name remained, its okay but it would be so much more to have the Grey ghost physically present.
thank the citizens of our country for not giving a crap when Admiral William "bull" Halsey was asking them to help fund a project to turn the enterprise into a museum ship. "Oh, you want to turn the last Yorktown class carrier, that also has 20 battle stars mind you, into a museum ship? Too bad! We'd rather turn a New York class battleship that only has 12 battle stars into a museum ship rather then one of two carriers to survive the war from start to finish!" fuck you American citizens from the late 1940s, fuck you.
Jacob Wilson you should watch Battle 360 ep10. Look what the veteran says. And i kind agree with them, the Enterprise is a ship of war, it belongs in war with sailors. Not with children
It was more like at the time, the common people were still thinking battleships = awesome! King of the sea!! Aircraft carrier... whazzat? Flat boring ship? No thanks! And whenever the Navy offered a battleship to turn into museum ship or turn it into scrap, people would go crazy and raise funds to save the battleship. Wasn't until roughly middle of the 1960's when people realized the significance of aircraft carriers and the role they played in the war. By then, it was far too late to save Enterprise for she was already scrapped.
Enterprise's Aircraft are at least modern ( for their time ) while the Ark royal ( the carrier that sent aircraft to hunt or sunk Bismarck) carried swordfish which were obsolete biplanes made of cloth
Most important class of carriers to ever sail, becomes a friggen PREMIUM. She had the perfect story of refit and plane upgrades to make it a good tier 8 with upgrades for a tree. You do not replace the class that held the pacific theater with lexingtons. GG WG, you messed up the one reason I wanted CVs.
My problem is all the reviews of her that I have found haven't been very positive. I can deal with the fact that she's a premium, the problem I have is she's such an underwhelming and weak premium only good for AS and deleting German BBs with her AP bombs, and even that is not going to be unique and WG have said that AP are likely going to be coming to all USN CVs.
iDs Hunter I stopped playing CVs because there was so little skill involved, just pregame preparations and some basic knowledge needed to win. The fighter war is either you win or lost, and with high tier multiplane strikes you were guaranteed a hit. I am still waiting for the long hinted CV rework.
how to you think the bearn became hated. its literallys a middle finger to every single DD and Cruiser at tier six. See a bearn? Say goodbye to your health.
That is what gave me the most anger after reading and watching movies about this ship and its legendary history and everything she did for the US so that, so that they would sell it and throw it away as mere garbage, it would not surprise me that the soul of the USS Enterprise I hate you from the beyond, well except those who supported her and tried to put her in a museum, a good way to treat her ships so decorated that they end up being a flagship of her nation and then give them so nice gift (irony).
The Big E CVN 6 herself The Enterprise. She was the most decorated ship in WWII when she left Drydock 12 at Newport News Shipbuilding in 1936. Big E has saw all the battles from Pearl to Midway, Operation Watchtower to Haley's Island Hop, Guam to Leyte Gulf, and Operation Ten Go to Okinawa where a Kamikaze hit her in the elevator and damaged her beyond repairs. Big E returned to the states in 1945 where she was scrapped in New Jersey her steel was used to build her successor her daughter the first nuke carrier CVN65 also called The Big E now CVN 65 is being scrapped and CVN 6's granddaughter CVN 80 is being built with keel laying coming this spring.
She is my favorite character not only as a ship and its history but also its human form in Azur Lane and see that I am not even from the United States.
Ironically it's actually the Fuso that gets shit on the hardest of all BBs. Others don't have enough deck armor or have too much, and German BBs have the turtleback that can bounce incoming bombs off of them for normal-pens unless your RNG is good.
I'm not ussualy say this but: HERE WG TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE ME THIS BEAUTY!! oh and I also wait for naval legends episode of this ship with cool animation :)
Before you buy this remember they said tier 7 planes and it's a tier 8 Carrier which means this Carrier will see Des Moines and Montana class anti aircraft batteries. You'll lose twen'y of your planes for every pass. But Hey I'm definitely gonna get my North Carolina back out of the shop that things got some monster Anti aircraft batteries
Actually Enterprise CV-6 is one of the most decorated ships of US Navy history, they got the 20 battle stars right, but the Enterprise also got a Presidential Citation, an achievement that the USS Constitution (aka Old Iron Sides) never achieved.
I don't understand why lower their planes are so much worse than higher tier planes. For example the Independence(tier six American carrier) flew the same planes as the Essex (their 9 American carrier) because they were made at the same time( 1941-1945)
So do I. I thoroughly enjoyed the old CV gameplay. With submarines potentially coming into the game soon, the need for them to come back seems to grow louder in my opinion, even more with fighter cover also.
'The AP bombs that can do as much damage as a precise Battleships salvo' WG, the planes first have to get there... And I guess it's just kamikaze to send T7 planes in T10.
WG, two things: 1. Why are USS carriers the first to get AP bombs? Would that not be more appropriate on IJN flattops, based on history? 2. Bring this game to consoles!!
@@jennifertorres252 Why would NY give a damn about an old beat up ship? Who wants her in that time not that many so go dream about it because it's never going to happen
Its a crying shame they sent it to the scrap yard, if any ship deserved to be a museum it was the Enterprise CV6 Whete is it written that they couldn't build a new aircraft carrier with the name enterprise and kept the old one
