Duudee I swear I've looked for bass tabs for this song before but never found them, searched again today and came across this video. Instant like and subscribe, much appreciate you taking the time to break this down. This song is damn near the top of my list for "Songs that instantly get my body moving", and the bassline is the driving force. I dare anybody reading this to try and sit still listening to this song. It can't be done.

Hey Roy! What feels like a lifetime ago, you did bass lessons while touring with Mutemath. I remember asking my parents for my 16th birthday if they could pay for me to come out to Pittsburgh to get a lesson and I still hold on to that memory fondly. That night you got me and my friends on the guest list to see you play and I was on cloud 9. You're one of my favorite musicians and you continue to inspire me in so many ways. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all that you do.

Great video. I had my high school jazz band (that was basically a rock band since there were so few brass and reeds) play this tune. I regret fussing at the guitarist about using a pick on this bass line which he managed to learn by ear. We had a blast playing it!

Roy, love the video! More and more I'm realizing that a large part of what I loved about Mutemath were your grooves. Your work on the Odd Soul and Armistice records are some of my favorite grooves and riffs of all-time. Wish you would have gotten your wish to do Odd Soul II. This is the song that brought me to mutemath and inspired me to learn bass. Had the privilege of seeing the band in Birmingham uk (2016?)and London (2017?). Always loved how you would play differently live compared to recordings as it felt like a rollercoaster...didnt know where it was going but just enjoyed the 'ride'

This is amazing! You make it look effortless. Your work on MUTEMATH is one of the great bass works of all-time. I mean that. Any chance you will be doing "One More" or, the very rarely seen live "Sun Ray Part 2" during these tutorials. My jaw literally dropped when I saw you play that live. Thank you for your amazing art and I look forward to seeing/hearing more in the future.

This is probably the song that got me back to playing bass again 🥰. I went to so many MUTEMATH concerts and this song is just amazing because of the bass and drums. Watching you guys live was always such a blast. Everyone had their own unique style that just worked so well❤️ the bass solo in this song is my favorite!

Really excited for this series! This has always been one of my favourite lines of yours and it’s really interesting to hear about some of your creative process. It would be cool to get a look at the bass line on Chaos, there’s some really cool stuff in that song too and it would be really interesting to hear about how you came up with it!

Thank you so much for this tutorial, been trying to copy the live version approximately for months... Very useful! Would be glad if you explain how Obsolete came out of your mind, this is the best bass line ever...okay that's not from Armistice though :)

Killer tones and playing, man. If you're looking for video ideas, I would love a tone lesson. I feel like some bass players kind of just plug in and play without concern for sound. I def don't wanna be like that. Would love to hear your thoughts on how you get your different sounds and how you use them.
