^^^^^ does that answer your question? We didn't have a choice when I went in. I loved doing 11C stuff & infantry stuff in general. It's all the other stupid shit not related to my MOS that usually sucked.

Indeed I was an 11c and did all of both classifications. We're 11 series for a reason. We are the 1% of the military that will kick down doors hang rounds and kill the enemy face to face. 11c and 11b have there differences. It's a very thin line. We still do foot and mounted patrols. Do the same mundane things infantrymen do lol.

I just graduated from Charlie 1-19. I didn’t want to be a Charlie either but it grew on me once we got our hands on the mortar systems.

I originally didn't want to be 11C either, but after doing it a while I really loved it. D 2/54 1990. We had 11B's, 11C's 11H's & one other one I can't remember 30+ years later.

I felt so screwed when i was selected 11c because we were the lucky ones who got selected for 3 extra weeks at boot camp compared to the bravos but after boot i was proud and glad to be a chuck haha!

I graduated on the 9th of September from fort benning GA as 11b. I got stationed at JBLM right now.

I ship for 11x that day as well

Hell yeah, I turn 17 November 2 as soon as that diploma gets in my hands I’m going to the recruiter, praying for 11B but I’ll take whatever. Someone’s gotta do the dirty work!

Don’t know who told you that but it’s the exact same training as bravos we do kick doors down as well

How did you get a guaranteed first duty station?

Sick originally I picked Hawaii but changed it last minute to Ft Carson

Kinda results may very so no in the since you have to go through basic but when you get to your unit you can bring it up and if they want they can switch you 11b to 11c is a lil more difficult you have to do a gunners exam and be proficient on the weapon system so you'll have to practice with the mortar now 11c to 11b its a piece of paper it's all up to your leadership I've only ever seen one person do it they went from 11b to 11c becuase they were getting out and joining national guard and that unit needed 11c so I would say it depends

Depends on which unit an 11charlie is attached with not all have mechanized units

11B/C can go either light or mech. Maybe the best way to go light is to have Airborne School on the contract.

You can switch between being a bravo to a chuck with a paper form it’s easy same goes for the other way around.

Yes 11 Charlie is a bravo but also use an indirect fire mortar system, we train as infantrymen but our primary task is inderect fire suppression. Basically smart infantry.

Yup same exact training except charlies have more specialized training to also be able to deploy mortar systems.

Basically it’s just different jobs but 11C do train as 11B cause if they do need more infantry in a situation you might have to go down there and start breaching building and being in the front lines

Infantry is based on soldiers, the combination of arms and unit is just whatever is needed.
