I'm 39 and just enlisted in the army national guard as a 12 Romeo. Had to jump through a bunch of hoops age and moral waivers but I swore in Monday and ship out January 13th 🫡
Am going to Army Fat Camp its good because im poor cant afford decent meals even if i work out alot the crap i eat is crap with this ill get healthy food and in shape
36 and I leave for basic in a month. Never finished college, and I've spent most of my life playing in bands and working whatever jobs I could find. My local music scene really slowed down after covid, playing in bands just wasn't going anywhere, and I experienced a not so great job change at the end of 2023, so I decided to join the National Guard. I'm pretty excited tbh! I cleaned up my act and I've been working on PT stuff like doing lots of push-ups and running, which is getting easier, and I'm bracing myself for what's going to be a huge change in lifestyle for me. It's going to be tough, but I look forward to crushing it! Older guys can get it done too!!! Thanks for making videos like this. I WAS IN THE ARMY IN THE VIETNAM AREA. ARMY IS FOR BRAINWASHED PEOPLE. I DIDN'T CARE FOR IT AND LEFT IT ALIVE. SOME OF MY FRIENDS DIDN'T MAKE IT ALIVE. GOV USES THEIR CONSTITUENTS AS SLAVES. YES, YOU CAN PICK YOUR JOB. IF YOU SIGN UP TO A 6 YEAR ENLISTMENT. IF IT WAS SO GOOD BEING IN THE MILITARY TODAY. OUR TYRANTS WON'T BE TALKING ABOUT A DRAFT FOR MEN AND WOMEN. SOMETIMES IF YOU ASK FOR A CAREER IN THE MILITARY AND YOU DON'T PASS THEIR TEST IN THAT FIELD. ( IN OTHER WORDS YOUR I.Q. TEST ) YOUR UNCLE SCRAM WILL GIVE YOU A DIFFERENT TRADE OR BE A GRUNT. IN THE FRONT LINES FIGHTING. REMEMBER THIS PEOPLE ? OUR OPPRESSORS CAN DO ANYTHING THEY WANT TO DO YOU ? THEY CAN ALWAYS BREAK THEIR CONTRACTS. YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET YOUR BENEFITS FROM THE VETERAN ADMINSTRATION. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY HAVE ORGANIZATION CALLED WOUNDED WARRIORS OR TUNNEL TWO TOWERS FOR. BECAUSE UNCLE SAM DOESN'T HONOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO US VETERANS. GET OFF THE GRID OF GOV. THEIR KILLERS . GOOD LUCK.
How long do I need to stay in the military? I wanna join just to get citizenship. I heard about active and reserve years . Dun know the details tho! Could you please answer to that?

Idk. Maybe it was impossible your experience, but anyone that wanted to got to submit a packet. After passing the physical and AIT, they were on their way. This has been the case 2022 - present at my AIT location.

Hey listen, no disrespect to you, but, I am from NYC, and the reason why I get upset, my whole family either served or became a cop. I understand the bullshit, but, everyone who joins the Military, knows what they are getting them themselves into , I was ARMY INFANTRY 11Bravo, only the best you want to find yourself, go INFANTRY..
I really don’t know the current curriculum of the 82nd but I served at Bragg, I volunteered after my AIT to go Airborne and the tough physical and educational life you can get it was pretty awesome. It molded my tough standard of evaluating myself, it gave me purpose, I took advantage of every preparedness exercise, I learned focus on mission because from 1979 on I deployed constantly and took the time to actually learn how the world around me worked (Which many people actually don’t do) and how politicians work with their respected governments. In general it gave me the tools to be a good citizen, it molded me, I don’t know why people waste their time with things that are more about being part of a pack instead of learning from it. My Two Cents.
I joined the Army NG in 2007. I served 6.5 years part time. I deployed to Iraq for a year in 2008/2009. I earned my BA and MBA in the guard mostly free using NJ guard tuition waiver and post 9/11 GI bill. I medically retired from the guard due to an illness (non-combat) I sustained in Iraq. I might have developed my condition anyway, but since it was first diagnosed on active duty it is considered service connected. I have 100 percent VA rating and get over 4k a month tax free from the VA. I don’t pay property taxes on my house. I used my disabled veterans preference to land a good job with Social Security. I double dip between my salary and VA compensation. My student loans were forgiven due to my 100 percent rating. The Army was the best decision I ever made. I get Tricare insurance for me and my family for life. I get free dental at the VA. I also can use the VA for medical care for free. My wife and kids qualify for money for school under chapter 35 dependent education assistance from the VA.

I was 82nd 1 /505 During 911 fresh out of high school ,in my mind I was already a legend and till this day I still have very high standards set for myself by my self. You can call it narcissistic or whatever but 82nd shaped me both mentally and physically .
