Lee Greenwood met the US Army Chorus in the tunnel at Nats Park after performing at the 2015 Winter Classic. They started singing an impromptu a capella version of his classic God Bless the USA
I was sworn in as a US citizen in 2002 after following all the rules and doing it right and legally. This makes me so proud. I cannot keep from choking up every time that I watch itl
Lmao you came back a whole year later to this video and commented that you're a proud, legal citizen and that this chokes you up again. No doubt you have red, white, and blue running through your veins! God Bless!
I'm a new Zealander... this version touches me . I have no idea what I means to be an American. But this song should be honored and respected world wide .. very touching
Lava1964 I live in a subdivision of about 70 homes. Old Glory flies from 80% of them. From my driveway to the “main” road, it’s about 1.5 miles, and I can count several dozens of flags. Twitter is not real life, the vast majority of Americans love this country (and yours, btw, we’d die to defend you), love our flag, our service members, and our ideals. We’re not perfect, but we’re not evil, despite what our media would lead you to believe.
Joe's Classic Video Games it is an honor to sing it and with the original composer no less. It'd be amazing just to get to meet the man who wrote such an amazing song.
The pride on their faces man! I could just imagine what it really meant to these brave soldiers. God bless them, this country, & all the people in the free World. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
The six people who disliked this video are making a bad date with Karma. God Bless the USA and every American who truly loves this country and their Creator.
I know this is an old comment, but I felt I should comment. While I have nothing but respect for these soldiers and the flag the defend and truly adore this country, if I were to dislike this video (Which I am not considering) it would be because of Lee Greenwood. I do not know who he is other than a singer (and that only from context of him singing in this video) but I find him to be a poor singer at best. I did not enjoy his portion of the performance. He was very much outclassed by the men around him in that regard.
This song was played during my son's Coin Ceremony when he graduated from Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base. Yeah... I bawled my eyes out! This song has taken on a whole new meaning for me and this is by far the best version I have ever seen! Thank you, Mr. Greenwood, for an amazing song, and thank you gentlemen, for your service to our country!
I'm a professional lyric soprano and I agree with you. Lee is a tenor and has chosen to use his voice for country and pop music, which is great. Most professional singers would never do an impromptu session with a group of singers, no matter who they were. They would be so concerned about the right key for their voice, etc. But, he's very brave. The key was slightly too high, even for his voice. Probably should have been B-flat major, but, he pulled it off! I admire him very much. OUR ARMY CHORUS...G O R G E O U S! I love this COUNTRY! Go USA!
The first time I heard this song - I was in Navy boot camp, the company commanders played it after a particularly harsh punishment cycle. But God Bless the USA made me cry too - it still hits me every time I hear it. Thanks to your son for serving!
lonecrapshooter67 Absolutely! My son just finished his sixth year on active duty and is on his first deployment. He said he plans to stay in and make a career out of it.
JEFF PETERS because this song is obviously annointed. I learned Lee did it in honor of his father who was once a service man? Am not american but when i heared it during Trump's innaguration, i had goose bumps singing along. I felt the pride each american i think should felt. I was teary eyed seeng Trump sang the chorus in the video. But i am not american. The world envy you people.
I got to see him perform at Baghram...But to do a sing along would be a absolute Great memory. This guy's done this for so many Troops around the World. Thankyou GodBless! 🇺🇸🙏👏👏👏
I have watched this for the nth time and I will never get tired watching this... i watched this again today... and i am still in awe how the music blends the voices of everyone in the group. Thanks also to Lee Greenwood for being sobhumble to sing with the group sans musical instrument and rehearsal❤❤❤

WOW! This was beyond amazing! This is the first time I have heard this version. I loved his performance at the inauguration, but hearing this version I would have loved if the song was performed this way. Lee has taken excellent care of his voice. #GodBlessTheUSA
