This Between 1&2 album actually tellin a stories between Twice & Once. Thats why it made more sense they ended the album with When we were kid (wrote by dahyun) evrythng about this album is so perfect
@@joemarbalagan9311 yeah, i cant' even imagine if they didn't renewed their contract and "When We Were Kids" was their last song together, i would have lost my mind!
I am one of those who became a kpop (Twice fan) in the first days of the pandemic. And this album is number 4 on my list of favorite Twice albums. The first 3 albums are: 1.Formula Of Love 2.Taste Of Love 3.Eyes Wide Open 4.Between 1&2 You can make a reaction video to any of these 3 albums, I will enjoy watching each of them :) Note: I love these 4 albums very much. I made a list, but actually there is very little difference between them..
The same reason why I got in to Twice. 😊 I have known them since their cheer up era but just got into them only during the pandemic. Was diagnosed with depression and anxiety during that time and I could definitely say that Twice one of the reason I got back on track. Love them ❤
Actually for non twice fan they're only known twice for their cute and bubbly title tracks but their bsides are consisting of different genre. twice members always participating in writing lyrics in their bsides. Recommend album Eyes wide open Formula of love Taste of love. Hope you can do a reaction to the guide if you haven't or in your own time Who is twice? A deep dive into the living legends
Chaeyoung wrote the lyrics and rap in Basics, Dahyun wrote Brave and When We Were Kids, and lastly, Jihyo wrote, composed, and produced on Trouble. I remember the members saying that Jihyo was giving them directions on Trouble like a real PD. If you react to any other Twice albums I will very gladly watch and cheer you on your journey to become Once! 🎉 P.S. whenever Dahyun writes, she gives lines to the members she feels she feels best for that part.
Thanks for the reaction! This one came out a month after they renewed their contracts, so there was the possibility that it could be the last album. When We Were Kids hits hard because it is Dahyun writing about the group looking back to the start of their Twice journey. For their Ready to Be concerts it’s the last song they play before encore. As far as more Twice - all of it please! (At least I Can’t Stop Me from Eyes Wide Open0 Oh. And Queen of Hearts has an official mv with the girls rocking out
Woow ok it hits different knowing that fact 😥 OK taking notes! And running to watch the MV of Queen of Hearts, can't believe i missed it aaah Thank you for watching!!
This album is their first album after their re-signing of contract to JYPe as 9 member. This Album is all about the Love between Twice and Once, and love between the members. -Chaeyoung wrote BASICS -Jihyo wrote and composed TROUBLE -Dahyun wrote GONE and WHEN WE WHERE KIDS. please check out FORMULA OF LOVE album their 3rd full album.
Jeongyeon is my ult bias and I will defend her till the day I die. She’s not only always beautiful but was brave enough to take a break for her anxiety so I respect her so much from that sense and we don’t even need to get into how stupid talented she is
@@soliedaisy scientist is not the typical title track of twice as it's more chill but the bsides ATE SO HARD, my favs are moonlight, cruel, last waltz, fila, and espresso ‼️‼️‼️
9:48 actually in our fandom ONCE every time they release it’s the opposite… we always have discussions about what bside should’ve been a title track cause their songs are always so good 🤭
please react to jihyo’s album Zone! I’m a fan of her voice too but hearing her solo work just made me a bigger fan of her as an artist! Thanks for reacting to Twice! Between 1 and 2 is personally one of my fave mini albums along with Taste of Love :))
I remember being so pleasantly surprised to listen to Jihyo's title track "killin' me good" because it was sooo good, haven't listened to the full album yet so def gonna check it out!
Thanks for checking out another twice album, I’ve enjoyed watching your reactions! You mentioned before I think that you’re familiar with last waltz so you might have already checked out formula of love but if you haven’t checked out the whole album it’s a high recommendation from me! (It’s a full album) Other good albums include eyes wide open (full album), taste of love (mini album), more & more (mini album) These ones might be to your taste based on what I’ve seen! Glad you’ve discovered one of the best hidden gems in Twice: their b-sides. Like you, I always kind of had a negative connotation to the term “b-sides” and thought it might mean less catchy, less quality, more forgettable music but absolutely twice has proven to me that it’s the opposite. Often the truest fans of twice who are the most familiar and in love with their music would tell you that their b-sides are where the gold is. SOOO many incredible songs. And like you said in your reaction, they cover so many genres! It’s part of the fun listening to twice albums, you don’t know what gems you will get but the list is miles and miles long. Anyways hope you check out more! Thanks so much for your reaction! 😊
I'm so so happy I decided to listen to their albums, really happy about the songs i'm discovering too, I keep listening to "brave" recently ahah I put all the albums you said in my list already so definitely checking them out! Thank YOU for watching and commenting ❤
Can’t wait to see you react to more Twice album 😍 - Formula of love (highest rated kpop gg album of all time) (mixed genre: Miami bass, r&b, synth-pop, disco, hip-hop, trap, reggaeton, dance-pop, latin, soul and many more) - Eyes Wide Open (mixed genre: dance-pop, latin pop, 80s japanese city-pop, rnb, tropical pop (?), retro-synth etc…) - Feel Special (Dance/edm-pop/hip-hop vibe) - Taste of Love (Disco-Dance vibe) - Masterpiece (MISAMO’s sub unit) (Dark concept) For solo album Nayeon have IM NAYEON (RnB, Pop) Jihyo have ZONE (RnB, latin, pop)
Thank you so much for this great reaction to the Queens of K-POP🙏 This album is phenomenal. GONE is an absolute masterpiece IMO. When We Were Kids is a total tear jerker but in the best way possible. Dahyun definitely has a golden pen.
Formula of Love is their best album, practically a full no-skip collection. It's mostly funky disco style music but there are just a few slow ballads that I usually skip although they are pretty good. They had 3 tracks that were done by different 3-member subunits, and one of those that I think you will like Hello which is mostly rap. It's very good but the lyrics get recycled a lot so it gets a little repetitive but it's a BOP. There is a live stage performance that is fun and full of attitude.
I've been following them since 2017 and my playlist is full of their songs, I think there are so many genres they have, it makes my mood change when I listen to their songs..I'm really happy to follow your Twice deep dive, I'm looking forward to the next twice album reaction from you.. i recommend formula of love album or eyes wide open album, cause both are my favorite top albums from them ✨😄👌🏻
10:34 That was Sana's voice btw not Momo 21:08 It's Chaeyoung not Jihyo 29:38 Tzuyu not Nayeon 29:47 Momo not Sana Love your reaction btw! hope you will keep reacting to Twice in the future:) i reccomend you check out the formula of love album or eyes wide open....!!!
I loved your reaction, so geniune. I recommend you to listen Formula of Love, that album contains some of the best sounds and energy from TWICE and I can say its a Top Tier Kpop album to listen to.
The mix between English and Korean most of the time is not too bad however often times the pronounciation of the Korean is skewed to match the rhythm and articulation usually seen with English. Basically, it doesn't sound bad or cringe but the English words or segments often effects the sound of the Korean. It's not too bad with Twice but some groups or sololists stray quite far from the actual pronounciation of Korean that it can sound entirely foreign. (I'm fluent in Korean and English btw)
trouble written and composed by jihyo gone and wwwk by dahyun basics by chaeng pls do their taste of love mini album or the full album formula of love (both from 2021), twice's 2021 4th world tour was with mostly song from formula of love and some songs from fancy you and feel special mini albums (also the title track medley and the wheel in the end of the concert with b-sides) you'd love their perfect world album, but is a japanese album so you need to be cautious
I would like you to see a bit of their personalities so u could understand more their aura in music & the reason in being so loved & popular; They are really cute, kind & funny; I would suggest a reaction for a guide (I would suggest a video from the channel jaytzu "a dive into a living legends) or their youtube series time to TWICE (they have different seasons&concepts) maybe the recent one (the fake squid game)
@@soliedaisy The guide is long but can be a good reaction video for future TW reactions if u want to do more(bsides the music) &The show existe in their youtube channel so it's safe for yutube reactions but if u want to watch them on ur own it is fine too; do whatever make u comfortable
@@rihemmaz9386 My channel is mainly based on music that's why I will watch it on my own time! ❤But definitely reacting to all the music here! Thank you so much for the recommendation, I really appreciate it :)
I wouldn’t say taste of love is ballad-y at all. Baby blue eyes, first time and hot = ballads? No… they’re more straight pop, and don’t have a lot of rap to them but they’re not ballads. I second this person’s recommendation! Taste of love is one of Twice’s best mini albums and I highly recommend
I told you the rap in this album is sooo much better, 😅 (i was one of the people who commented to listen to this album because of the rap in this), they're all so very well written and the vocals here are also so insane. Also, this album showcases more Chaeyoung and Momo than Dahyun in the rap, this is usually the case when Dahyun writes the songs, she usually doesn't sing a lot when she writes
Thank you for requesting itttt last time, I had so much fun listening to the album!!! Also interesting for your languages! I guess for me, french isn't big into english so hearing them both in a song or sentence is just soooo weird and cringe 😂
Not counting the English versions of their title tracks, they have a total of 7 songs in English The feels Queen of hearts Moonlight Moonlight Sunrise Icon Candy What you waiting for?
Jus t bcoz chaeng and dahyun are rappers doesnt mean they only get the rap lines. The fast verses doesnt necessarily mean that its a rap,its just a fast verse. Nayeon also sing fast verses and nobody calls it a rap bcoz in peoples mind, she is a vocalist and whatever lines she gets, its auto automatically a singing line
28:28 I speak both languages and it doesn´t sound bad, obviously sometimes it might sound awkward but in most songs it sounds really good! I think that as long as the melody fits and doesn´t ruin the song´s meaning, it´s alright
During all their career TWICE have been the target of envie&hate because they got big quickly,that they even broke big kpop legends achievements in a record time all through hard work, keeping a positive attitude &strong team work;They dont get the normal kpop stans hate but more of systematic & organized defamation & hate campaigns that happens in Korea or globally;There's even doubts about companies being behind those campaigns;So it hinder their expansion & success;& the fact that jype never were so strict in handling these cyber crimes made them bigger;So it is not the 1st time a kpop stan say that they had a wrong perspective about TW&their music cause they hear all the time how they are not worthy of checking,they are just cute&cringy,they are overrated ect that without the typical rumors & exaggerations about issue about the gp; a strong fact about TW having a targeted defamation is the slave room incident that was exposed 2 years ago in KR & even had police involvement; where an anti created a big forum to attack TW & slander the gp where he blackmail & threaten minors to work with him spreading the campaign; That type of obsessional treatment that the gp always get made the fans over protective & passionate about showing the real TWICE world to new fans; Because TW main goal is to spread happiness & hope; a Healthy mind&body is the core of their concept!& dont worry u will get used to the bubbly sound,lyrics & rap with time ;
That really sucks, I wish hate in general was taken more seriously by people and companies so groups like TWICE and many others that just want to spread a good message could avoid this kind of harassment and horrible behavior from people :(
It doesnt sound cringe to koreans bcoz they have many korean slangs that is in english. And if you listen to 90's kpop kor-eng is already a norm esp for k hip hop grps of 90's. Disco was also sooo popular in korea in 70's-80's and korean disco pop songs use kor-eng for lyrics
28:40 I'm a Brazilian who speaks English and I know exactly where you're coming from! Hahaha We have some Brazilian pop music with some English words here and there and it does sounds cringe.
In terms of K-pop song lyrics being Korean with random bits of English mixed in, the way I see it is as follows.... It probably started off a bit cringe in Gen 1 / Gen 2 eras, back when the genre and industry was first taking place; but only insofar as the entire K-pop scene was basically a rebellion against the much more conservative, traditional Korean music scene at the time (or at least, that's how K-pop was marketed as), reflecting its Western - largely American - influences. So, it was "cringe" the same way younger generations act "cringe". But the genre continued to lean into the mixed language lyrics to the point it's become a staple and normal part of the genre. Plus, the K-pop industry takes a lot of elements from the Japanese idol industry, which likewise has a lot of English randomly peppered into its lyrics. So, it was all inevitable if you think about it. 😁😁
omg i wanna talk about it🤣 recently i realized that i just get used to koreans mixing korean with english. i turned on my k pop music in my brothers car and he was so concerned and asked what language they are singing😅 in my country we also mix two languages when we speak but never in the songs.
ISTG their 3rd Full Album "Formula Of Love" also had a lot of different genres (Although I think it had at least 3 or more disco songs but the album has 15 tracks so it still works.) I'm bored so I'm gonna break the album down for you. 1. Scientist - Synth-pop 2. Moonlight - Tropical disco 3. Icon - Reggae-pop 4. Cruel - Progressive House [Written by Dahyun] 5. Real You - Funky House [Written by Jihyo] 6. Fall In Love Again - Dance-pop/Disco-pop [Written by Nayeon] 7. Last Waltz - Latin-pop 8. Espresso - Hip-hop (but also has elements of R&B) 9. Rewind - R&B ballad 10. Cactus - Ballad with heavy Pop-rock elements [Written and composed by Jihyo] 11. Push & Pull - Funk (has city pop influences) 12. Hello - Trap 13. 1, 3, 2 - Reggae-pop 14. Candy - Ballad 15. The Feels - Nu-disco [Written by Chaeyoung] Take this with a grain of salt, though. This is only based on my own knowledge about music and also a few researches. Some of these songs have multiple genres combined and I only wrote what I think was the most prominent in the song. I can't wait for your reaction to this album!
28:34 apparently my country's (Indonesia) artist tried this 'kpop writing style' to make music, but after many many attempt I still find it really really cringe LOL, I had exactly same thought with you, dear Korean friend out there, how you feel when listening to song that mix your language with english like this? Because it sound good for us outside Korea LOL
After watching Twice from inception till "Set Me Free" they paved internationally and at home a broader perception for the kpop world. Just as SNSD had in the previous generation but in my opinion not utilizing the same tools to get there. SNSD is a vocal powerhouse and that can not be said for Twice. During sixteen JYP's focus was on character and charisma, charm and looking for that IT factor. Well he found it in spades with Sana , Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Nayeon... etc but only three of them can sing to kpops third gen vocal standards. Now JYP has understood that vocals are the route to go...NMIXX like SNSD. Twices heyday is over and it was "a ride" as charting projects Gen 4 to carry the kpop banner. The one thing that flies in the face of pop precedence is how Twice continued to be a leader without a number one hit for so many years. The last time Twice had a number one hit was 2018 "Yes or Yes". This is remarkable and the only thing I can think of that allowed it to occur is Twice was continuously pumping out material leading to members burnout. It had an amazing fanbase worldwide. Similarly like "The Monkeys" or "The Partridge Family". This constant in your face comedy team entertained the fandom until... Wow look at these New Jeans GO! Thus ending one gen and on to the next gen.
Interesting thought about the mix of languages. Has it always been like that in kpop, I mean e.g. 1. gen and 2. gen? Did they also mix Korean and English? Or did it maybe start as Kpop got more popular outside Korea?
I think it was always a bit of the case? But way less in the first gen of kpop, the korean language has a lot of english words nowadays and music evolved that way too, it's so interesting to see the evolution in the music!
I speak Indonesian as my first language and English as a second and a little bit of German and any combination with Indonesian i cringe it sounds horrible to my ear although maybe because its only in my head if anyone actually sings it im pretty sure it sounds fine
Right??? I feel like it's just person to person, I guess people are more used to hear korean/english songs too, very curious to know what someone with these two languages think 😯
