"Meredith was hit by a car. I took her to the hospital. the doctors tried to save her life. They did everything they could, and she is going to be fine."
@@thebadwolf3088 no, it's "aren't coming." the joke being that GOB doesnt actually really care about tobias, but he's pretending his lack of crying is unexpected
@@nunixnunix04 And yet, instead of being blinded by tears, he's blinded by his fake shame at not being able to cry, and he's unable to see Oscar take the laptop from him. (Or Oscar's brother, I forget which)
@@nunixnunix04 I kind of love how Lucille's reaction seems horrified, when the one time she speaks directly to Tobias, she shows that she completely loathes him.
Awwww, they missed one! Lindsey is feeling self conscious of her looks while sick, and she's visiting someone in the hospital. The doctor looks at her and says "Wow, you look hot." She thinks he's flirting but it turns out she has a fever and gets hospitalized hospitalized. I couldn't find a clip to link.
It's running gags like this that made the show so great. By the third time, we all just want to see the family's reaction to whatever the doctor is going to say.
I never got this show and couldn't see why it was so funny. I didn't have cable so had to watch it on DVD for the first time and I loved it right away.
You scared me there for a minute. These clips are totally hilarious. I see what you're saying, it's better to watch on dvd, that's how I watched it. You have to catch all the inside and ongoing jokes throughout the series. I watched because it had great reviews, but never expected to love it so much
The absurdity of the doctor delivering the news with relief when he says the patient is all right and with sadness when he says the patient looks like he is dead, and at the same time not understanding what he says is confusing, makes this so funny for me.
@SwiftJustice2020 I would imagine not, considering working for them probably means he sees them as actual human beings and thus wouldn't need to check his privilege more than usual. For some reason some white men find this difficult. Wonder why?
2:05 You know you've crossed a line when even Maeby gets upset at you Also, the way Buster hangs his head and covers his ears after hearing about George Sr.'s and Tobias's 'deaths' is both really heartbreaking and funny at the same time.
In a very strange way, this guy is good at managing expectations. He makes it look real bad so when they find out the real news, they're more relieved.
That's Ian Roberts. He's the best funny straight man I've ever seen. I remember him from the upright citizens brigade when I was a kid. Him, Matt Besser, Matt Walsh, and some unknown named Amy Poehler.
"Huh, this guy again"😮💨 I love btw how, even if them all already know him, just Michael in some sense understands they should always wait until the doc's done speaking. Missing 2 scenes though, the one from a post credit with Lindsay getting hospitalized 'cos of the fever (doc saying you're hot, letting you think he's actually trying with her in front of her husband is gold) and the one where they give a new and bigger hand to Buster, with Lucille figuring out the fake-mustache doc is always him.
The fact that he looks SO bewildered that nobody understands what he’s saying is just the icing on the cake. …he must be amazing at the actual medicine part of the job, to keep from getting fired.
