Thanks for sharing this awesome run on 3s. I'm quite supersized how strong it is on 3s. I mostly run 3s and need new batteries for my other cars. The Outcast jams on 3s. Great job on the video. I'm going to probably get the V2 soon and would definitely just run 3s. The price is excellent for how nice the truck is. Go Arrma

Great video Chris. Here is my opinion on the video and some of the comments. First thing is we all have our own opinions on cars we like and what we think is better value. We can't all be right with our opinions but our opinions are all valuable. I have had opinions on things in the past and sometimes your mind gets changed by more info or someones else's opinion. What I took from Chris's video is him compairing the Arrma 3s range to what you get from the Arrma 4s range. Some larger brands like Arrma can command higher prices than the smaller brands as they have a massive customer base. I like Arrma cars and have the TLR Typhon but I can think of brands or non brands where I can get better value for money but as I said I believe Chris was compairing Arrma to Arrma with his own valuable opinion.

Hey laura thanks for your feedback on this , Yes i was comparing Arrma 3s to Arrma 4s and here in the UK the Price as i said is so close in comparison . I was just giving my feedback and findings based on what i own as well as i have the Typhon and Big rock v3 to compare them . As you said there are plenty of non brands that really do offer more for less features wise but like every Rc on the market nothing is bulletproof and i opted for this truck when buying from Lee due to knowing the platform well and also How the parts are interchangeable , We all have our favorites and its what works for you best . I have had mine since last August Upgraded the servo and installed a 15T pinion. Perfect setup IMO on 3S & 4S. It's a shame Arrma recently discontinued the Outcast/Kraton 4S v2. One of my most used RC's

Hey there buddy , Well i have to say its exactly what ive done and yes i agree with you easily my go to truck for out and out fun right now . Yes they have discontinued them , but i think the v3 is right around the corner and if you know arrma they will allow you to upgrade the parts to the v2 . so win win . hiya mate great to see you out and about with this one and from what i have seen so far i might be looking closely at what you can do with it and what it does as you know i am looking at the hpi savage xl 6s but this might change my mind. Hey peter , Ah mate im so chuffed with it honestly , I would definetly urge you to pick one up when you get the chance , the savage in my opinion would be way to close to your DR8 and you already have a 6s car , this truck is a stunt truck and is a way different style of driving , So much fun and rewarding for example holding it on the throttle for a flat out wheelie and being able to pull of jumps effortless . I am ok with wet ground do like to see the mud flying up in the air lol . Ive got tons of videos on this truck going up this week and also the mad van ve in a very very nice location Thanks for all your support with my channel and the help on socials Stay awesome there buddy Chris :)

Hey buddy , Thank you once again for watching and also supporting the channel , Yeah head over heels with this truck and makes a compelling argument over purchasing a 3s truck as the price difference is only £40 as you know here in the UK right now . The big rock is a awesome truck im not going to take anything anyway from it at all but when you consider the price difference it makes no sense not to put the extra £40 towards this and get so much more . They're mad on 4S, you'll have to concentrate hard 😂 I ran mine on 3S the other day and it was a lot of fun for sure. LMT servo saver and unlock the ESC to get 7.4V BEC should do it, or get a hobbywing MAX10SCT ESC.

Hey there Rusty dude , Yeah im building up to getting the truck on 4s , and at present im waiting for my new 4s batteries to come . Yeah on 3s its still alot of fun for sure ! As for the LMT Servo Saver is it alot of work buddy ? And when your saying unlock the ESC are we talking about using the programming card from Spektrum ? Hey fella , yeah that was my Twain of thought 💭 as well , the price differences in the UK are neither here nor there 40 bucks is just one week of extra saving and you get so much more . It’s got my mind changed now from here onwards a for the little difference shop smartly , I mean to be fair my big rock I spent a fortune on the extra bits to make it as tough . Hiya mate What’s your opinion on the new mojave 4s? Not sure if you’ve got one or even seen them, but I’m trying to decide whether I go for the outcast or mojave. I feel like on 4s the outcast will be a bit too uncontrollable and get a bit annoying when it always try’s standing backflips. However, it would have way more air control. What do you think? +1 sub btw you seem like you really enjoy the hobby and connecting with your audience, great channel ❤ Edit: I see you got the 6s haha. Damn that outcast rips! Flew into that bush, Jesus!😂

Hey buddy , Love the look of the new 4s Mojave , i personally would love to try one on the channel . Im a Big fan of the Outcast its great fun , now there are ways to make it behave the way you want , Like myself i tuned the Diffs , Changed the gearing its not crazy and so much fun but i can get the power down . So i changed the rear Diff to 20k CST and pinion gear upped to a 15t and now it still has character. Hope this helps bud Chris :)

Hi Chris. Glad you are enjoying it mate. I think the steering is ok if you are blasting it up and down a straight and then slowing down at the end to turn. The problems come more with trying to blast around corners. I did the same thing as you when I bought this which was to add up all the extras you get compared to the 3s cars and thinking that it was good value which it is. Be really interesting to see how the 4s Kraton is in compared to the Outcast but I haven't got the funds for that right now. Anyway enjoy it on 4s when they show up as it is a fair bit more wild. Hey Pete buddy , Yeah the steering as you said is very vague but maybe just something I either get used to or do the upgrades as you recommended, I would imagine it’s the later ! As you said you add up all the extras it makes no sense to purchase a 3s truck if it’s not either for size or possibly budget limited max ! But I would urge others to seriously think about it , yes there may be a caveat to the steering but it’s as you demonstrated a cheap and simple fix . As you said I’ve also thought the same about the Krayton myself really would love to try one against the outcast . As you said my funds are dwindled right now also . Really speaking through this is about as big a use case as my area will allow for bashing . nice vid mate, have the 6s and 8 s and they are awesome. Steering is always sh*t out of the box. I usually run them until the servo brakes but most offthe time it's after the first bash with me hahaha

Hey buddy , massive thanks for watching really means a lot 😎 Well I got to say so far I must be quite luckily to have this not break on me , but having said that I do tend to set the endpoints all the time to help with the servo overturning and putting to much pressure on it . Honestly the big rock is a good truck but it’s not a basher truck. It has plastic diffs and I had problems with it and spent so much money to make it to what the outcast 4s is STOCK the outcast is hands down better and it runs great on 3s out it on punch level 5 or 9 depending what version you have and it’s a beast and well 4s is just an animal lol the whole 4s line general is where it’s at better value the new 4s line comes with exb parts stock you can’t beat that

hahaah yesss! 🙌🙌🙌 Hollaaa! Nice mate nice! Told you you'd love it!! Fantastic point about running it on 3s. It handles just like if it were on 4s and 75% power. Still pulls wheelies for days and it would still jump and flip with the best of them. Plus it would be just that bit kinder to the drive train. Brilliant. And you've still got FULL POWA to look forward to. Thats when it just showers the mud behind it hahaha. Fantastic stuff mate, great to watch. With the steering, is the play in the suspension having an effect? Looks like a lot of travel. Same as mine of course but looking at it from here thats what I notice.

Hey there buddy , Yeah man its had a shake down on 3s , really was alot of fun on 3s , since buying the car spent all my pennies on it right now so waiting on a 4s battery to come also . But as you said its pretty much there right now and still able to pull wheelies on demand as for jumping not had the chance to try that just yet ! Yeah a shake down on 3s before the big fella battery , Im going to run it on 3s for now till i get back to have a chance to run it on 4s , but i would imagine that its going to be a complete different animal for sure . the steering it quite vague mind and i feel that the servo saver is to blame on it now , seems that its just not strong enough for the heavy wheels , so planning on a Hot Racing servo saver that pete wylie has put me on to . Now as for the the way the truck runs well i think since installing the bash bar and motor mount plus diff cups from CRCU only thing left is to install the wheel hexes and servo saver . Yes this adds to the cost of the truck but dont they all need some sort of upgrade along the lines from time to time . havent noticed mind about the travel in the shocks , how did you combat it may i ask with spacers or thicker shock oil ????? @@ChriswithaCrc Yes definitely a big brain move, running on 3s. When I was getting in to these trucks I didn't even know that was a possibility. It's great to let people know its an option, cos like you say, you gotta save the pretty pennies to invest in these battery packs. 4s definitely takes it to the extreme, but you really are getting a great experience on 3s by the looks of it. 4s just goes over the top. Which is not unwelcome, these are performance machines after all. 100% on the steering, looking forward to seeing what you do in that department. I have a new servo to install but I honestly have NFI when it comes to that, and a lot of the mods. Which is definitely part of the fun, doing the experiments and grokking the results for future experiments haha Do you know how much weight the mods you have done so far have added? I always wonder if it affects acceleration and steering performance, not to mention extra strain on the suspension and drive train. I can't say I have tweaked my shocks yet, just an observation I only made watching your video. Family is going great mate, hope the same with yours and cheers for saying so!!

Hey Avo mate , Well im glad you can see why i thought running it on 3s before 4s was a good idea buddy , the thing is i like to iron out the issues before hitting it hard ! As you said its nice to let others know that its ok to run on 3s while your waiting to purchase the 4s batteries , it was like myself this was the card that was dealt to me until i could get my hands on the 4s batteries . And i got to say its still a bunch of fun , plus ive still managed to spot some issues with the truck in the mean time . Yeah the steering needs looking at for sure . As for the weight thats a bloody good point ! but the only thing that i would say that added to the weight was the bash bar to be quite honest and this would just wait the Centre of Gravity a touch lower . Yeah shocks on the front could do with 600 cst instead of 500 in my opinion just to let it setting a touch slower on impact to help with it bottom in out . @ChriswithaCrc I'm good thanks mate👍.. The only thing so far has been mentioned plenty of times,,, the vague steering. Since I only really hit ramps then it's not a massive issue along as the truck will drive straight at the ramp. Maybe something I'll look at in the near future or after you've done a video to sort the issue lol👍. O yeah, the esc battery connector caps will break (they always do with ic5)

Hey buddy , I Love the mad van ve its by far the best 2s truck ive owned , but i would say if you can save the pennies i think youll have so much fun with the Outcast its so capable on 3s and cant wait to run this on 4s . the parts that come with it are of excellent quality and it just moves as you can see from the video . Awesome assessment! On 3s it will be great for learning to drive it. Make sure to get a good Kimbrough servo saver if your ever decide to upgrade the servo, & set the slipper properly to preserve the drivetrain. Bought one used with a 3s ESC in it, and while it was fun, I only had two capable 3s lipos vs multiples of 4S and 6s Lipos. Went crazy with a spare 6s ESC, bigger motor & pinion. Got it over 70mph on 6s but that took it's toll on everything. Eventually broke the chassis across the front diff area & rebuilt it as a Kraton with a few mods. Now more sensible with the stock motor & soon a 12t pinion. I think I almost have her bulletproof now. P.S. Originally posted under another response when it was meant to post in the main section. I think I triggered a troll.😅

I was looking at the Kimbrough saver and also the Hot Racing servo saver i think im going to opt for the Kimbourgh firstly and see how it gets on . @@ChriswithaCrc you're more than welcome. The Kimbrough, being plastic, is a lot easier to trim for use on the 4x4 line. I'm just a little obsessed with testing upgrades & different setups. So I took on the challenge of fitting and trimming an all metal one. The Kraton swap went well. The longer wheelbase suits my driving style better, but I'll have to admit, backflips off of small bumps was kinda fun. Now I'm no expert, Most of the info for this I got from #ArrmaForum, a few Facebook groups, friends & personal experience with good ol' trial & error. But the point of it all is to have fun. My idea of fun is mostly customizing & changing setups. Someone else's idea of fun may be different, & I respect that. Lately I have had more wrench time than runtime. But sometimes I won't leave the house without an RC. I literally take one to work & on the road with me. Thanks again for the different perspective & thinking outside the box. Had I bought it brand new, I may have waited a while longer before trying many upgrades & run it on 3s lipos myself.

@@VDVC-RC Hey buddy thanks for the reply , I got to say ive not seen the metal one , how did that go now see with a dremmel that really would make a interesting upgrade as apposed to the Hot Racing variant . Yeah thats what i liked about the 3s/4s range you really can change things about somewhat , for instance when i started back from a long break i turned a Vorteks in to a Typhoon ( Yes it was not a cheap exercise ) but since i had also picked up the big rock i wanted something a little different all together . Im the same i love upgrades and making it my own 100% . Basically all of my cars are the same ive got to change them to make them my own . I do tend to wrench more at present than run them and im ok with that i find it fun . Oh having a RC with you all the time is awesome , always able to have some downtime and enjoy were ever you are hey . As for running it on 3s yeah i get you , As i said its not for everyone but it does give you a different driving experience , for instance i have a 4s system in the Big rock and have it geared up with a 20t pinion and it flies along and the good thing is that the motor tends to stay nice and cool regardless of the weather or what im asking it to do . i wanted to run this truck on 3s to get to know if anything was about to break before full power run on 4s . Im glad i did as i made a mistake fitting the CRCU drive cups so it could have been alot worse . Thanks for the reply and looking forward to hearing from you . Stay awesome buddy Chris :)

@@ChriswithaCrcthe all metal one is the Hot Racing Direct Drive version... No plastic adapter insert to strip out! Works great with my Amazon 35kg servo on 7.4v When I bash my 6s rigs off-road it's usually with a 4s lipo in them... Stuff breaks a lot easier on 6s too. Same thing with my 1/12 scale 3s rigs. 2s off-road when bigger tires. 3s on road with smaller tires.

Hey buddy , have you watched the whole video I do explain my logic and thinking on the matter . It’s like this Big rock in the UK is currently around 370 to purchase for that as I mention you will get a excellent truck , but there are a few short comings to it , I’ve covered loads of that with my videos and my findings whilst going through a shed load of upgrades, but I really do love the big rock , but then this comes in at £419 currently here in the UK @ Modelsport a shop I use regularly and trust and yes with this truck your getting so much more for that extra £40 in the sense of Better diffs Metal gearing throughout Better electronics Better wheels Better arms Fully alloy big bore 1/8th scale suspension Upgraded servo Better wheelie bar Full alloy chassis brace Upgraded 6mm motor mount Better battery straps and supports for your larger hard case bashing batteries . Hey man , yeah I hear you but to be quite honest with your maybe I’m 🍀 lucky I’ve not had a issue with my slipper I followed Dave from hardcore RC’s guide on setting it and since then been great 👍 As for the value in Comparison to the 3s range I think this is a bargain when considered the extras . Well the mt10 is not only more durable, handles better (centre diff) , it's also way cheaper and you don't have to shill out for 3s AND 4s batteries. You don't even acknowledge the many faults people have recognised in the 4s line up. Your reviews aren't very honest, in my opinion.

I like my MT10 a lot. I like my 4S Outcast more. I actually run it more than my 8s EXB. There really isn't a best or better. It's preference. They are all fun and will all break. I broke my MT10 first run. The arms aren't great. The tires do not grip as good on any surface as the Outcast to me. The MT10 is a lot smaller and slower. That is not opinion.

@@boduke9428 sure you like a 4s truck almost twice the price of a 3s truck. The arms on the V2 are way better and y'all can buy RPM arms for £12 that are nuke proof. If you want on road or a variety of surface performance, the SC10 pro 4 which is an extended wheelbase short course truck (with a million wheel choices) version of the MT10 with all its inherent improvements over these cars without centre diffs and sway bars is an amazing choice. Who still recommends slashes and shit over the pro4? No contest.
