Your not gonna gain speed since the weak brushed system cannot pull 10c out of the battery let alone 100c. Plus it is lower voltage. You may gain slightly more power on acceleration however.
Also drop a 17t pinion in there prolly bring it up to 20. I have the senton brushed version went through 2 motors on stock. Decided I can go brushless way cheaper I still need to get a 3s but she moves
@@jacknapier7066 exactly mods!! Picked one of these up and immediately yanked the brushed crap out and now I run traxxas vxl 6s esc and motor. She’s a beast !!!’
I take my Typhon To the local skate park to the pool comes out of the pool 56' upside down and lands on 4 wheels It's A-blast I'm 65 years old and playing with our RC all my life and this is the best car I've ever had, Broke parts when it comes out of the pool High in hits hard Totally worth it front in parts are like $7 So I budget by a bunch I found out super glue works really well When it sits overnight I have broken the shocks towers off Glues him back on in ready to go the next day
Hey Rc channel, did u figure out the 2 small pins there for running mode and whether it's Nimh or lipo, 😎😎 page 17 in manual diggin the lights and the wash, brave soul u are😊🏁 well enjoyed this show, 💯🏁💯🏎️
This is such a hidden gem, i am experiencing a clicking noise when i drive my car, it had the same noise before and turns out in the stock motor the shaft holding up the pinion gear was wobbly and so the store gave me a free new traxxas motor, (same one as stock) and it worked fine for a while but then i noticed a new clicking sound, maybe its because we loosened our spur gear up too much or maybe too tight? but we're taking it in tomorrow and hopefully they can listen to it and help us. But I am in the process of upgrading to a brush less with a 4s lipo and this video has been super helpful man, many thanks. I wish I had found this whilst i was charging the battery haha
the RC Channel ya haha, I just got an arma Kraton 8s and I’m loving it, planning on getting a Arma typhon 6s and giving my 550 to my friend as his first RC, (I showed him it and he’s hooked on the hobby)
Great video, thanks! I got one of these about a month ago. My first hobby grade RC and I love it. I think people across the board don't see a big difference between NiMH and 2S on the brushed motor, as in one of the previous comments. Switched to brushed, and even on 2S the difference was huge. As you said, 3S may be a better starter for grownups. I mostly do 2S runs with the occasional 3S. See what breaks. 😅
@@fazexb4c0n58 I'm talking about the 3S or 6S versions of this car. The Arrma Typhon comes in this version, 3S, 6S, a 4S TLR roller, and a 6S TLR RTR version. I bought one of these as a gift, but my own cars are racing kits and I'd like to see how the higher performing Arrmas compare to say my Mugen Seiki or Tekno kits.
Just got one for $175, not a speck of dirt in the body so it's still new for second hand, Mt kitten loves to chase it or be chased also by it. But I'm about to put a brushless set up in it, Hotrc remote will work great with brushless setup. My Wltoys is way faster with Hotrc remote, handles way better also close up and 600 meters away
25:51 you say, we can see 21T "down there at the bottom", I only see 14, 15, 17 and 27T, if I wanna get a 21T pinion will it fit in there? where should it go if so? cheers
I've been into hpi nitro..but thinking of getting aarma felony for street drags? Ran across your channel in search of something for dirt as of now I have a traxxx salvage with a os 15.. Help!!!!
Tbone front bumber, big bore aluminum shocks, 3S upgrade esc n brushless motor, pinion, spur, wheely bar and 22 pc metal pivot ball set...red tool is for shocks...plastic shocks will leak at least all of mine did...speeds of 60 easy in high pinion gear
Do you know if this is the v3? I always watch these vids of people saying they spent $210 or so but I just spent $268 with tax to get mine and wondering if the price is due to it being v3 or I got ripped off =)
Great video but I believe the 6s wont have 90% same parts. All metal drive train, diff cups and cvd not sliders like the 2s and 3s typhons. Unless you can completely change diffs, cvd, driveshafts ect then why not just buy the 6s?
I am thinking of buying this car, I have traxxas cars now but I want you to try a 1/8 that isn’t so expensive. I am gonna toss the esc and motor and put in a proper esc and motor. I am gonna go for 3s(my esc can do 6s), but I am worried if this car can take 100Amp(ish) and ridiculously high rpm..? Both 2wd and 4wd stampede can handle it out of the box, even when it is much more powerful than the vxl top model of those car’s motors. Anyway , I am guessing this will handle it too. Can someone tell me if There is any difference between these cars called 2s,3s etc besides the motor and esc?
I know. Unfortunately EVERY single RC box does the same thing. Just paid $900 for an Armma Kraton that says 55+ MPH on the box...but just watched a review and it goes 35 MPH...not really what I was expecting. However, the Typhon 3S for $300 DOES GO 50MPH as the box says...out of the box. That car will blow your mind.
My senton brushed did about 25 out the box with nihm and about 22 with 2s changed pinion to 24t on brushed motor got close to 30. But fried a motor cause got too hot. That's when I popped the brushless conversion in her. She's so fast I can't keep it on road I just threw some street belted drag tires on it and gripped so we'll the rear input shaft snapped lol so waiting on the blx upgrades to come in. Luckily all the 3s blx internal gears slide right in so it's not so weak inside
The 6s Typhon is a completely different vehicle then the 3s and 2s. Also arrma is know to fib a little about top speeds. Even with taller pinion gearing you cannot get close to advertised top speeds. You need to do some mods.
@@RTmadnesstoo It’s been so long I forgot what this even was, is it reverse lockout in the controller or mechanically? Also why is it a requirement of racing?
I'm not sure about a few things . And I'm not here to bash or BS but we all have our ways of doing things . I have an opinion. I've broken in all of my brushed motors Ina cup of water for a whole nihm battery at about 25% throttle until it was dead . I've never had a issue and I've done it many of times . Second .... After running your rc in rain or mud your gonna want to tear it down and clean it and grease and oil it properly you can't just let it sit and dry like that .
Wait, I'm new to the hobby, do you like need to completely pull it apart and grease everything every single time you just drive in a little bit of rain?
I turned my arrma senton in to a typhon you should order a senton front bumper for you typhon I don't think the wheels will hit the bumper should fit just fine protect your front !!
Your going to show us and you have no clue what most of the stuff were for lol too funny man and the stickers made it look very fast lol and the wheels say D boots
The stuff you said about you only having the best or I guess the RC's that haven't been reviewed is the reason why your channel wasn't doing good... trust me it isn't the product it is the man who is talking about the product
Yes I upgraded my senton mega brushed to brushless. 120a hobby wing esc a 3s battery and a 3660 3300kv motor with 22t pinion. I have a vid of my senton going about 35ish.
“ I’ve watched THOUSANDS of rc videos” I don’t know what this is. Don’t know what this is either.. If you are going to make a video showing this buggy, how about you read that book and give some informative information
