I'm a graduate of the school. Back in the day, there were very few opportunities for rural folk to find any training. Fortunate fir me, the FAS came along. I still have the lesson books!

Great video! Informative and funny with the whole time machine thing. If you ever happen to do another Rockwell video explaining his compositions, how he used circles and triangles, I'd definitely want to watch that.

I had yet to learn whether Norman Rockwell used charcoal as his foundation or if he used a dry brush technique for the final painting. As always, very enlightening and informative work.

Having seen one of his original paintings up close in person, it looks like he used a scumble painting technique.

Thank you for doing this video. I have studied Frank Frazetta, and a bit of Rockwell. Studying Frazetta on youtube eventually led me to you, and after I started seriously studying these videos, I have had many people always asking me who my sources are. These videos clearly work, thank you for passing these on before you pass from this world. Now it is unlikely that this knowledge will be lost, able to be gleaned by those that care. Edit: Yes please, more shows!

If you ever get the chance, go to the Frank Frazzetta museum in eastern PA. It's on his home estate and run by his family with live tours by the family. See his original work, close friendly and worth going back again!

Thank you very much for these educational videos. May I ask you a question that is not related to this video subject? The question is about the color wheel. What is the better of choosing colors based on regular colors shceme or irregular color scheme ? Thank you again and lookingfor ward for your reply.

Thanks for your comment and question. Unequal interval selections of color from the Standard Color Wheel that illustrators like Jon Whitcomb talks about in his textbook results in greater variety of color and color rhythm.. In that kind of Color Scheme there are colors that are closer together on the Color Wheel resulting in more harmonious color and then there are colors that are further apart resulting in stronger contrast of color. So you get more harmony and contrast while in Color Schemes that are at equal intervals the result is colors that are all strongly contrasting with each other when three colors are selected like Red, yellow and blue for example. Sorry, I need to correct your pronunciation on the name “Giuseppe”. The “G” makes a “J” sound, followed by a “U” as in “oo” sound. I know grammar Nazis are annoying but I just couldn’t take it. Forgive me
