I hate to say it, but I think you fell into the trap that many powerful people usually fall: to be surrounded by yes-men and to dismiss all critics. You're very different from that polite Canadian professor talking about the human psyche that interested me so much. There's a lot of ego present here and, judging by the subreddit dedicated to you, your fecal matter must be made of gold, pardon my french, so your fan base may thwart your vision of reality. Your lectures are still very interesting to me, but, honestly, I think everything went off the rails when you started stepping into the political, sir. I'm sorry to say that, but you have lots of opinions about lots of things that you don't know much about. I wouldn't dare to think that my opinion is as valuable as yours in the field of clinical psychology just because I've read a handful of books. I feel you should extend the same kind of respect and intellectual humility to all the other areas in which you're not an expert. I've always said that myself, being gay is nothing to be proud of. You don't have to be ashamed either, it's just a tiny part of who you are. I look at it like this, I'm hardly proud of being straight so why would you be proud of being gay?

There are so many things I could say as a young adolescent female after listening to this, but the most important thing I want to say is thank you. Thank you for genuinely caring for the psychological condition of people like me. When I was young, I was furious with myself. I naively believed that women are conditioned to be lesser beings, probably due to the types of books available to read at my age, and despised my very being. I was angry and I was resentful of men, to the point where I wished to have been born one. When I was 12 and exposed to the world of social media, it was excellent fuel to my fire. I read posts about rape court cases, female wage discrimination, the uselessness of marriage and the restrictions of having a female body. I hated having breasts, I hated having a high voice. Like you said, added to all of this was the confusion of hormonal change. I also attended an all-girls school, which fuelled my hatred of women, translating any sign of a flaw into my map of why I should have been born a boy. Then the LGBT movement grew, and with that the feminist movements intertwined. Women on TV were now masculine, better than men at handling a gun, wearing the trousers in the relationship. I went to the edge of the abyss and I looked down, suicidal and depressed. I lost hope in a world of women, in my own future. Everything was going downhill because in whatever career path I researched, there was some disadvantage advertised. I hated my natural inclination towards children, and the rush of emotion when tending to little babies. I avoided them like the plague. I was looking further into the abyss. I dont know when it all changed. Perhaps it lies in my religious roots. As a Muslim, I questioned what it meant for homosexuality to be a sin, and why it was promoted as pride. I wondered why the process of reproduction is described so beautifully in the 1,400 year old Quran, yet mothers around me were at the bottom of the success chain. Nothing added up. I was depressed, anxious, angry, resentful and I was heading downhill. Like Dostoevsky proposed, I did enjoy being occupied by my own self-led ruin. It took my mind off of difficult things, like exams and relationships. But nothing was changing. These people on the internet, they promote 'wokeness' like some sort of Holy Grail, but it was not healing me. It was not making me stronger or better or happier. These movements promote liberalism as euphoric and blessed and free and wonderful and healing, yet my wounds lay open. I began to realise that I was only tearing at them, opening them up more with the 'help' of girl power. I was not truly gaining any power as a girl. So like I mentioned, thank you. You came into my life and finally I started to stitch these wounds. You are the real help for women in this postmodern era. Because of you, I have managed to understand the monster in me, and instead of using it against myself, I will use it to fight against people who lie about helping you as a veneer, beneath which lies resentment and weakness. I will not be ashamed of who I am, of the mother I want to be, of the beliefs I wish to honour. You have taught me that. I am eternally grateful.

I am a Trans Female, and to be honest I 100% agree with you I do not care what pronouns people use for me, I do not care if people "misgender" me. All I ask is to be able to live my life the way I want to live it, it is not my place to ask or tell people how to live theirs. i remember telling my parents "i wish i was a girl" when i was 9 and saw my 7 year old sister get her nails done and hair nicely done. Instead of pushing me to decide on changing gender (who knows what my 9 or 10 year-old brain would have thought of that.) They said ok ill paint your nails, Ill do your hair. Right after that was done, I was ready to stop being jealous of my sister and realize nail painting, and extensive hair styling was annoying, looked weird, and was not for me. But if i was asked about changing gender at 9-10 I might have done it. Thank God that was not an option back then. would have ruined my life.
