Ayra uncontrollably laughing her ass off when she hears her Aunt died is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. She’s laughing both at the Hound for going through all this trouble for nothing and at the fact that all her family has been killed so like of course why wouldn’t her aunt also be dead. Literal gold
Ironically I was just about to comment on that exact scene, except saying that it was super cringey the way she just belly laughed like that. Didn't feel authentic at all. Had she just chuckled a little bit at the absurdity of the situation it would've felt better but that just felt forced.
@@colecampbell1906 i thought it was pretty funny and sad at the same time. i think she was probably a bit hysterical like, oh of COURSE the moment i think i'm gonna be safe, another of my family dies. Of course. probably a bit off her bonkers at the moment. just a lil chuckle would've been too nonchalant for this situation.
@@nicabella7689 exactly!!! Refer to the shameless scene where the roof collapses and Fiona is so beyond losing her mind at that point that she just collapses and laughs like a maniac. Her friend Kev laughed a little but was confused and then she went from that to sobbing. Laughing and crying are separated by a very thin line. I loved how insanely hysterical her laughter was, I’d lose my mind too in that moment.
It is at this exact moment that he got locked in as her new dad. Doesn't matter if he has her blood. That level of raw cynicism relates them more closely than any actual relation could manage.
Bronn in a tavern with a wench on his lap explaining the three times his nose got broken... Wench- "oh your poor nose" Bronn- "dont feel too bad for him, he'll be halfway up your ass by the end of the night."
I loved the Hound's character development, as well as the fact that he always tried to protect the Stark girls whenever he could. The fact that he became a father-figure to Arya just made it better
'I'd like to see braavos one day' 'why bravos?' 'I've got friends there' 'Doubt it' *blows snot* 😂😂😂😂 That 'doubt it' is the best rip of the entire show.
@@somm150 : The Aunt who poisoned her honorable husband, tried to kill Sansa, deliberately and deceitfully gave her sister false info that lead to tragic deaths, raised her son to be a self centered wimp, etc. That Aunt got what she deserved‼️
Arya's story was so good before Braavos and part of that was because she constantly had a worthy companion to bounce dialogue off of. Braavos itself wasn't that bad, but the assassins weren't interesting, they were pretentious. After Braavos was just a nightmare.
@@MrBlue-uh4ej Translation: Hound:- Only idiots name their swords. Arya:- Lots of people name their swords. Hound: The world is full of idiots. Cunts being a synonymous for idiots in this context, just a bit harsher.
I like imagining that everyone who has ever named their sword in history was just a big edge lord. Like, they all would probably love anime or something
Arya: "Syrio didn't have a sword, or armor, just a stick" Hound: "The greatest swordsman who ever lived didn't have a sword" (cracks up in her face). This cracks me up every time, just brutal!!!
Rick O'Shay there was a scream when the scene got cutoff when the “greatest swordsman” was trying to buy her time to leave. I guess that implies his fate
Although the Hound wasn't the main character I felt he was the perfect protagonist for Game of Thrones. He is a good enough guy to root for but he is also harsh and understands that world. I felt the male Starks were a little too naive and goody toe shoe. The Hound was the best male protagonist in the series.
Yes, the Starks had lots of honor and integrity and where did it get them - - misery, death, and very hard won knowledge. In their sheltered North, they had no survival skills for the very harsh realities of treachery. Caitlin was one of my least favorite characters - - starting with how she treated Joh Snow.
@@slcRN1971 Ironic, seeing she was the only Stark who understood about treachery and the dangerosity of the other Houses and the South. Also the only one who managed to outplay the Lannisters by capturing Tyrion and bringing him to the Vale and not Winterfell - despite announcing the opposite. Cat is a true Tully, their words is "Family. Duty. Honour." and she represents and follows them perfectly. The way she treated Jon was awful, but when you think of the words she lives by, it makes sense: Ned betrayed all three by sleeping with another woman and getting that child. Yes, Jon wasn't actually his, but he always lied to her about it because he didn't want her to treat him as a nephew, he needed the lie to be believable, and it started with lying to her about it. She was an amazing character, so many sides and depths to her.
@@Libellulaire And by "outplaying the Lannisters", you mean starting a pointless war that gets her own homeland destroyed, while her husband and her daughters are still in King's Landing surrounded by Lannisters, and bringing Tyrion to a court completely unrelated to the crime or to House Lannister. The only one "outplayed" here is Catelyn herself, by Littlefinger.
I love how Arya takes a moment to look at the unconscious peasant on the floor after Sandor asks if that's him. For all she knows, it could be him, given the nature of the faceless men lol.
@@reygarcia7707 and Nymeria as Toto travelling to wizard of faceless people & trying to stop wicked witch of Westeros... Funded by Gilly the good witch
Eddard was the father that accepted his daughter could never follow her 'role' in life and found someone to teach her the skills she wanted to have in life. Sandor was the father that brought taught her what she needed to know to survive with the skills she had. Eddard and Sandor were both tough men in their own ways and they gave that toughness to Arya. They were both loved her and both were a father to her. She loved both of them.
Arya had a very strange way of showing that she loved Sandor. At best, she was deeply ambivalent about him, but she was never able to forgive him for doing what he had to do to survive in their shit world.
@Deserve Not Desire gregor stabs him in the chest. Foolishness sandor, foolishness. Might controls everything. And without strength you can't protect anything. Let alone yourself
Left out my favorite exchange: Hound: "Is he on your list?" Arya: "Can't be. I don't know his name." Hound: "What's your name?" Rorge: "Rorge." Arya: "Thank you." (Stabs Rorge through the heart.)
God I loved the fact that despite this show having a far greater plot and building up to something huge it never took itself too seriously and just had moments like these where essentially nothing happens except fantastic character development, and amazing dialogue exchange.
This is funny but sometimes I get sad when I think of how close Arya and Sansa were to getting reunited In the vale. Imagine how much easier things would’ve been for Arya
Honestly, it's probably because most of us want to forget the misery that is S7/S8. The ONLY scene that was even memorable for me was Brienne's Knighthood. Everything else is an ash heap
One of the few things I like about the last season. The Hound begging Arya to turn back at the final moment from the self-destructive path that they were both on to live her life and be better than he was. It just felt right.
"I give one try" Sandor to Sansa is like protective big brother but Sandor to Arya is like mocking big brother :D They are only two who made him smile and laugh, he definetely had soft spot to Stark girls. They could remind him his gone lil sister...
Same here, he is actually one of my three fav charachters now, alongside Jon and Arya, whom i liked from the very beginning, the first time i saw them. The Hound, however, started off as very dislikeable and shot up and up as the series progressed to became right at the top for me.
I liked the Hound when he was helping Sansa survive in Kings Landing, even though he was still a callused, vengeful, hard-ass. He saved her from pushing Joffrey of the bridge!
You DO realize you're talking to a fictional TV character, recorded on a medium and reproduced on a screen? She's not a real person to change, you fookin snowflake.
Before the final few episodes, these side stories with duos of characters (bronn and jaime, jaime and brienne, Arya and the hound, etc) were actually some of the best character foil developments in recent writing.
This was the best partnership in the GOT series . Who knew these two had that kind of chemistry ? I loved every minute of this team and hope she doesn't stick her sword through his head .
I love how he doubts Arya would kill Joffrey with a chicken bone... I love that he gets to see how dangerous she becomes and how true those words were.
0:50 Arya - "Some day im going to put a knife through your eye and out the back of your head" *Hound shoves a knife through The Mountains eye and out the back of his head and proceeds to laugh at the memory.
Hardin didn't actually intend to kill the guy, he was just drunk and was trying to wake him up from the adjacent room so he'd stop snoring. And I for one doubt that it's a legend like Hardin's but that Gregor actually did that since I'd figure his brother would know whether he did or not.
That wasnt because of the gay watery tart who died with a wooden sword, Arya's a bad ass because of the God of many faces. Who is this girl? She is noone.
The hound is the most badass tho just how he says when he hears, "alot of ppl name their swords" and without hesitation says, "ya cunts do" ,made me love him even more
It's even funnier when you realize Olenna made the same conclusion about Joffery when she heard what he named his sword. Makes it sound like an unwritten rule!
I absolutely love their relationship. At the beginning, when he kidnaps her from the Brotherhood, she'd nothing but a purse to him. He plans to sell to Rob at the Twins. They slowly get to really know and respect each other. My favorite moment is the confrontation with Brienne, when Sandor declares that he is going to watch over her. Then, at the very end, he's the one who convinces her not to try and kill Cersei. Because, unlike him, she still has people who love her and a chance for a real life. They were both such great characters and had amazing chemistry.
I love the "I bet his hair is greasier than Joffrey's cunt" "It was not!" exchange cause it's like Arya claiming that Joffrey did indeed have a cunt and that it was in fact the greasiest.
The way the two of them stand there, all serious, and then she just bursts out laughing. I cracked up the first time I saw it, and now, a gazillion times later, I still can't suppress a smile. Acting gold, right there, gold I say!!
