everyone's relationship with Podrick is extremely wholesome, Tyrion is like a father, Brienne is a like sweet protective mom, Bronn and Jaime are the cool uncles
@@tjhall9377Funny thing is that Cersei telling Pod to leave is perhaps one of the nicest interactions she has with someone. Usually she insults or viciously murders anyone who interacts with her.
Podrick is actually the closest thing this series had to a real protagonist in the classical fantasy sense. Dude went from stealing a ham to being in the kingsguard.
Old post but I actually liked a fan theory generated around this scene. Tyrion actually paid the girls in advance, and told them not to take the money. He likely also explained to them that Pod saved his life at the blackwater and to "show him the ropes" because he's never been with a girl. It was a litmus test serving 2 goals The first goal was the one on the surface, to repay Pod for his services. The 2nd one was more covert. If Pod keeps the money Tyrion understands that Pod is like Bronn and is in his services for self advancement. But if Pod returns the money then he actually has someone that may very well be trust worthy. Thats also why Tyrion demands Pod testify against him so he could gain a knighthood at his expense and he was genuinely worried about Podrick's life also being in danger.
@@purritto3779 Lady Stoneheart, aka undead Catelyn Tully. I'm still reading, but Brienne's chapter was kind of a cliffhanger that ended with them being hanged. Apparently they let them live. Whoops lol
Pod should have got the iron throne. Would have been a much better ending as he can satisfy Sansa, Arya, Cercei, Daenerys, the sand snakes .. literally everyone. Happys endings 😬😬
Jaime was right to partner up Pod with Brienne. She is very honorable, loyal and honest makes sense to giver her a squire with those exact same qualities.
@@Glostahdude ....yes, a decent man who casually threw a 12 year old child to his death to hide his secret. Who casually described all the horrible things he would do for Cersei, not to mention the things he HAD done already. He was not a decent man. By his own words, and actions, he was a horrible person, on many levels.
Poor Pod, first Tyrion forces him to drink till nearly sick, then when he’s finally gotten used to “keeping up” with Tyrion’s alcohol consumption, Brienne won’t let him drink, “Don’t get drunk!” The “*cries in wholesomeness*” caption made me LOL😂
I love how Pod is brave, nice and handsome but so dorky and clumsy at the same time. He’s a well written character. He went from a common boy to one of the kingsguard.
Podrick was one of the few characters that I favoured in this series. He was someone who genuinely wanted to help people and didn't have a sinister agenda for his own.
I love the characters that are just honest, simple, decent people. Pod, Sam, maybe Davos. They really ground the world and they are refreshing, especially amongst all the aggression, selfishness, & duplicity. Edit: also Gendry, hot pie, and Jon’s night watch squad (as per recommendations)
In the books, Pod was 13 years old. He actively sought out Brenine after Tyroin fled. She described him as having a “slow tongue, but quick hand.” When they trained. He helped brinine kill a couple of minor villains, before Lady Stoneheart (Maybe) hung him.
It seems he’s survived but is being held hostage by the brotherhood as Brienne is last seen leading Jaimie in what appears to be a trap after the brotherhood captured and threatened them
Just go to 2:29 They could’ve cast him as Ramsay Snow and had him do all those horrible things he did, and if he made that face people STILL would’ve forgiven him.
Hee Hee Yes, Ramsay Snow. That name was never changed as it can only be changed by a rightful king, which as a true born Lannister, the boy who called himself “King” never had the authority to issue, meaning regardless of what people may have called him, Ramsay Snow was always a bastard... from the day of his birth to his death by canines (hence the term “battle of the bastards” recognizing his illegitimate name change attempt by the rest of the realm as still recognizing him as “bastard” aka Ramsay “Snow”
Pod and Brienne are the best together, I adored him squiring for Tyrion but with Brienne it was like a polar bear found a baby fox and went “ah fine I’ll keep him”
And the music that played for that scene was great. I thumbed up this comment a long time ago and watching the vid again I was searching to see if someone liked that scene as much as I did.
It feels like he's her little brother that she finds naive, and also wants to protect. While he sees her as a reliable older sister that he looks up to and wants to give pride to
Podrick is kind of a person who becomes a good friend, a loyal companion without letting you realize. He's sweet, clumsy, timid but best quality in him is absolute loyalty. That's why Tyrion, Bronn, Jaime, Lady Brianne everyone he was with rooted for him.
Plot Twist: Pod Was secretly vying for the Iron Throne the Whole time and Orchestrated things in the background but outwardly we as viewers see him as a great guy.
That scene 1:22 is just hilarious. And to top it off that part on the episode Bronn and Tyrion both walk up to him sit down and basically are like "ok so teach us your ways" lmao
Podrick is actually one of the few characters I like more in the show than in the books. There’s nothing wrong with Pod in the books, and he serves his purpose well. But I like him in the show more. He’s just so fricking cute
The thing I find so interesting about the Podrick character is that for all intents and purposes he is a rather unimpressive person. He is not particularly skilled in any way shape or form, he doesn't fight particularly well nor is he all that resourceful. Hell, he could barely ride a horse(that's like not being able to drive in today's world). Yet he's a very likable character with the comedic element of the one thing he's good at is his sexual prowess and skills, which never even remotely comes across in his daily interactions.
Best line is “what do you think will happen if you leave?” “…They’ll say I wasn’t a very good squire.” Really sums up Pod’s personality and innocent honor, as opposed to many of the other noble characters like Ned Stark or Barristan Selmy’s blind honor, and Jamie’s more cynical honor.
Bronn, Tyrion and pod in a tavern joined by the hound, thoros of myr and beric dondarion occasionally hosting Robert baratheon now that would be a medieval podcast I'd like to see.
