Iga playing victim drama in the Rome 2024. As of Stuttgart 2023, Iga was trying to come to the net and distract the opponent which she did with many other players and worked well. Only that time with Sabalenka, she showed Iga her place. For anyone who doesn’t know the background story: Iga has many times tried to distract her opponents in. The past by coming close to the net just when the opponent wants to return and she even put her hands up , jumped, made noises and scared. When they complained, she apologized and to my understanding, hasn’t done that ever since.
Iga’s running to the net as Sabalenka is getting ready to smash her lob was clearly done to distract. No one does that! Really underhanded. I’ve lost respect for her.
