How true. Jesus is the head, the Pope is His representative.

There are two main reasons non-Catholics cannot receive communion at a Catholic Mass: The Eucharist is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. We must be properly prepared to receive it (1 Cor. 11:26-29). A non-Catholic who does not believe in the Real Presence would not be properly prepared to receive the Eucharist. Notice the word communion. You are asking why those who are not in communion with the Church cannot receive Communion. The word implies a unity and a oneness. Because Catholics believe that the celebration of the Eucharist is a sign of the reality of the oneness of faith, life, and worship, members of faith communities with whom we are not yet fully united are not admitted to Holy Communion. And keep in mind this is not "Your not good enough thing", it's actually to protect you from taking the eucharist when you're not ready.

@KeithNester That is your reasoning for we are to have a "Pope"? Peter never claimed to be a rock, let alone "The Rock". He was a liar, a denier, and a hypocrite and even thru this Paul told us he, along with James and John, were pillars. Peter told us over and over again that Jesus was the Rock, the Cornerstone. The foundation of the church is the prophets and Apostles with Jesus as the cornerstone. But because you believe a sinner is the foundation of the Church you have allowed sinners to create new traditions, none that Jesus never went to the cross for, and the Apostles, Peter included, never taught. Peter never taught us to seek Mary, to pray to her. He never called her the mother of God, the new ark, the queen of heaven. He never even mentioned her name, he ignored her existence in his two small books. Peter never opened a booth for sinners to come to him to be forgiven for their sins. Peter never taught transubstantiation, never said that the bread and wine will magically become Jesus's real flesh and blood, but only for 15 minutes. After that Jesus needs His body back so the Catholics down the road can sacrifice Him, again and again. Peter never said he was infallible, made so many mistakes, and evened Barnabas astray. Even still Jesus repeats in Matthew 18:18 that all of the Apostles had the authority. But this teaching of 16:19 has allowed the Catholic Church to become all powerful. Create new gospels that trap a person, I guess Paul was right in Colossians 2:8 See to it no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

@@glennherron9499 there’s a lot more to it than that, but I don’t have time to present the entire history and biblical case for the papacy in a comment. If you are really open to the truth, you will find it, but it’s clear to me you already think you know it all about this even though you are very misled about the Church.

@KeithNester Not true at all. I spend a lot of time talking to Catholics. I also know the violent history of the Catholic church. But this is about what we are told in scripture. I know, how do we know what books belong in the New Testament, yes, I know, the Catholic Church collected the letters that we have. But the Catholic Church also states that what is in scripture cannot lead you to salvation and since we don't know if everything Jesus taught is in scripture we are free to create new traditions and if you don't accept them you will go to hell.
