What a lot of work went into this! The whole setup looks amazing. It looks a real pleasure to use- I am upgrading my handbrake as well- I never thought I would need a simulated lever to elevate my happiness but here I am. Lol.
I’m still deciding as well. I’d like to diy a hydraulic version because I think it would be a fun project so I’m just trying to find one that will fit the spot well. My rig is pretty budget conscious but I keep looking at BJ steel HB and the Huesinkveld. I want something with very short travel. SG has some really nice looking stuff too. I’m finding rally to be a bigger part of my racing recently so I think I could justify a bit of a splurge.
@@dylanmosley3030 There are a lot of choices. IMHO rally is the most difficult, so a good shifter and handbrake are a necessity. Splurge away I say! :)
@@dylanmosley3030 Oh, forgot to tell you. I tried the hydraulic DIY using an arduino pressure sensor. LOL...the reservoir for the fluid broke and shot brake fluid everywhere. Then switched to DIY hall sensor and spring. Then switched to Fanatec handbrake. Let me know when you get one and how you like it. Always looking for opinions!
@@thoritissimgarage1482 so I’ve definitely been wondering why it’s not a more common project! I’ve considered using say mineral oil or some such since brake fluid leaking in my basement would be less than ideal. Perhaps I will head off problems and proceed directly to an elastomer or spring. Lol. I will be warned in advance if I go with hydraulics 😄
Thank you very much! I use three of the Nobsound cards for the six small shakers I use (4 on seat and 2 on pedals), and I usb sound card for the single big shaker I use for gear shifts. So, in total 4 for shakers.
Fantastic setup..MONSTER pc....Looking to the future, if you ever decide to leave the hobby and sell the rig, at least you'll have cash in hand to buy another house!/yacht! etc
Great video and nice setup. How do you manage to get your gameplay, especially your front monitor, to your laptop? NDI + LAN Cable?? And if you use Nvidia Surround how do you get only your middle screen for recording? THX
Thank you! Yes, NDI and lan cable. I don't use Nvida Surround, so I just record the center monitor. But I think in OBS you can set the canvas size and basically record just a portion of screen if one was using Nvida Surround. Haven't tested that though.
I made it myself. Cut out a piece of 2x4 and put two bolts through it to mount it to seat. Had a steel rod and welded small plates on the ends for speakers. Then screwed rod into wook. Painted black and done. Hard to explain in writing so I'll shoot a quick video and post ---- if you subscribe 😂. I'll shoot one later this morning and post. Thanks for comment!
I use this one above the wheel (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y2KBBTD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It went up in price. I think I paid $80. The other tablet I use is a much older (like 6 years) Samsung Galaxy tab A 8". You might want to check out Walmart also.
I went from the Logitechs to the Fanatec V3s. That changed my world. Then to the Heusinkvelds. That again was a huge upgrade in terms of feel and configurability. I really, really like them, but I have nothing else to compare them to other than the Fanatec V3s. All I can say is that I have no serious complaints. I haven't had the opportunity to try so many of the other pedals on the market. There are so many pedals that look like they might be really good, but who can afford to try them out unless the manufacturer sends them to you to try? Only the big RU-vid channels get that opportunity, and in my opinion they never say anything definitive as to good or bad for obvious reasons. They never say, "these pedals in my opinion are better than these other pedals." For me, I see no reason to switch from the Heusinkvelds to risk going to something I might not like, i.e. Simagic, Asetek, etc., and then be out of a lot a money. The only thing I didn't like about the Heusinkveld pedals was the factory face plates. I bought a set of HRS pedal plates for them and that made them much better for me. I like the wide brake pedal and the smooth throttle faceplate with the foot rest. Like most, the concern with most pedals is the brake and being able to mimic the feel of a real car. Simucube's new pedals look like they might be able to do that, but the price is crazy and the long-term durability hasn't been tested. The Simucube pedals have a lot more points of failure. I use two 10 port hubs and one 16 port hub. The hubs themselves do not remember anything; Windows is responsible for remembering. When you plug a device in, Windows essentially reads the device ID (vin #) on a particular hub's port (the physical port you plug into on the hub) that Windows has already mapped and then associates the device with that location, so if you unplug the device and plug it back into the same physical port, windows will not attempt to reinstall the device and it will be remembered. However, if you unplug the device and plug it into a different port, Windows will remap the devices location and may attempt to reinstall (setup) the device. Since I do not unplug my joystick/devices, there is no reordering.
Haha, that was pointed out to me in another comment. I was thinking about 6000mhz ram when I recorded it and I mispoke DDR6. I also updated the video description stating the same. Btw, Samsung is working on DDR6 ram and expects it to be released in 2024, so techincally DDR6 memory does exist and you are wrong. 🤣
@@rassremo Oh, just noticed your question. It's not on AIO. It's suspended using a microphone pop filter. I cut out the filter and put a fan in it. You just can't see the flexible shaft.
