In the original storyline by Daniel Remar he's missing his right arm. I can only try a wild guess, but my theory is: The developing tool Click and play (1994) and probably game maker as well presented an involution, sprites had "directions" instead of "facing". when a character turns because of a comand or a cross-up the engine "looks" for more actions in the same object, instead of mirroring the actions of the existing sprite. I reckon that in such condition for Daniel Remar it was easier to render all the sprites in both verses than creating a turn animation where commanders swap the weapons (Like Kusaregedo does in Samurai Shodown V ), whatever the case, since the sprites were rendered in Blender 3D it is even possible that at the time, to render every spriteset was faster than manually flip horizontally the rasters facing right. But... From an architectural viewpoint, it is strange when a raster character keeps non simmetric features on the same side when he turns 180° (Before CapCom's street fighter 3, the only example that comes to my mind was Mike from Bodyblows, published in 1993, his watch is always on his left wrist.) Personally i'm creating a fan version of Asha for MUGEN, and i irrevocably decided that my version will miss the right arm whether he's facing right or left, i'm printing both a spriteset where he's seen from the back when he's facing left and one where he's still seen from the front (when facing left) but is missing arm is the front arm, and consequently his fighting style changes drastically, at least for what concerns the punches.

Disagree. I play most of these games (other than Brawlhalla, ew), Smash, Slap City, Rivals, etc. I like slap city, and I think its an awesome concept. It's definitely fun, and has a lot of potential, but I dislike the art style, and I think the game feels clunky and unrefined. Given time and refinement, I reckon it could be better, but atm, I'd definitely have to disagree.

Depends on how you like your platform fighters. If you prefer 64 then yeah, this will probably appeal to you a lot more. It's definitely why I play it

Like really, disjoints on every normal, an electrical wall that keeps out opponents, a teleport that doesn't leave you helpless, and a taunt that also spikes. BROKEN!

A question... how would you port general Tor in this game? Personally when X-men vs. Street fighter came out i was very disappointed with the final boss... i mean, in a platformer the 80ft tall mecha worked very well, but in a fighting game is like... I mean... he challenges the human anomaly to a duel to check her wrist and then jumps on the best tank in the galaxy? that would be quite unchivalrious in a fighting game. I'm asking because i'm eager to hear ideas about how to create a mugen version of armored General Tor without making it feel like a match that should be a bonus game. A think i loved in Iji and loathe in some other games (and found it totally unnecessary in Final Fantasy X) is the fact that should someone be unable to learn how to crack beyond level 1, can still finish the game. Playing Iji is never like: "I'm here to rip and tear, i want to feel all muscles, no brain, why am i given a flaming rubik cube?" Since i'm developing a MUGEN fan port personally i decided to ignore the mecha in the original game.
