Whenever my kids hear the Ashens intro, they stop what they're doing and watch the video with me. They don't know what this channel is called, they don't laugh or speak during the videos, and when it's over they go back to whatever they were doing. All I know is that when the intro plays, everything stops for the Ashens video 🤷🏻♀️
The Jimmy Carr mask is defs the spookiest. Imagine just hearing his laugh faintly on the wind as you walk through the darkness and then you look around to see 19:45 leering back at you in the distance

theres always something more sinister about a human face thats just slightly offputting, with a metallic or giraffe face our brain can make out patterns which allow us to decipher it, however with a human face our brain struggles because we are so close to what we know, but just a little off

The last few years have seen a flood of the skeletal animals in shops around Halloween, and they *always* have the ears on them... Doesn't matter if it's a rat, or a cat, or a dog, or whatever. Doesn't matter if it's a cheapy dollar store one or a fairly high end expensive one in a home decor shop. Always have the ears. So stupid. Ruins the whole effect, I find.

Nothing says Halloween like IT, Shrek, bat mammaries, an evil rat, Jimmy Carr, Andross, and a furry. Carr wins the mask contest in my book, but the giraffe would probably be the most unnerving in a Purge-type situation.
The robot mask reminds me of Andross in the original Starfox. I kinda wanna get that mask, but I don't think people would appreciate me spitting squares at them.
Lol, a kid jumped out at me in a store at Halloween wearing that hairy rabbit mask and scared the absolute piss out of me for about half a second. The kid was only about 5 or so, so the combo of the unexpected jump at me, the mask, and the tiny stature really put it over the edge 🤣🤣
The first thing I thought of when you showed that evil clown is "oh look, it's Mr. Bungle" I would mod it to play Quote Unquote on repeat to scare random passerbys. Also the shiny robot face looks like some marketing robot went "SYNTHWAVE IS COOL LET US CAPITALISE $$$"
18:40 I have that giraffe mask, me and my friend bought some and just walked around a castle, scaring the crap out of other people. If you scrunch the mouth bit in it looks hilarious.
I feel like the rabbit is too obviously threatening to really work as a mask in horror. Comes off like the villain is going "OI LOOKIT ME, I'M RIGHT SPOOKY AIN'T I?".
My vote goes to the giraffe mask for scariest one. I almost voted for the Purge-like smiling man one, which I would be quite concerned about if I saw it, but the giraffe one really triggered that primal "what the Hell is thaaat?!" feeling in me, and is unusual enough that it might make me think there's a genuine psycho behind it. The green flashy one (which, thinking about it, is also like something out of a Purge film) is pretty spooky but would make me think more like a raver got drunk and/or high and got lost, so I'd be more inclined to give them directions and maybe let them crash on the couch while I see if I can call a friend of theirs who can pick them up. The shiny polygonal one is barely visible at all, so that's a bit of a shame. The FNAF knock-off is actually more effective than I expected, but honestly I'd be more inclined to assume that some asshole RU-vidr was recording a _prank_ _social experiment_ assholery video. Either way, I'd call the cops on 'em.
