I’ve seen so many excellent assistant state prosecutors and district attorneys in several states who are as good at putting guilty murderers away as the honorable Ms. Jensen, but every single one has his/her own style! I never get tired of watching any of them, several times!
One thing I really value about this assistant prosecutor-besides her incredible intelligence and BOSS verbal skills-is that she doesn’t pander to the jury. She doesn’t gush and repeatedly and unnecessarily thank them, as I’ve even seen male attorneys [AND THIS JUDGE] do in other trials. She just gets up with her verbal claymore and starts whipping it around, lopping off every single silly argument made by the defense in a series of brilliant, massively logical _WHACKS!!!_ And the best part?!? _SHE DID IT BY HERSELF!!!_
Judges need to thank the juries, it's their job to do so and not the prosecutor or attorney. The reason the judge needs to praise juries is because he or she is represented the state to thank you the juries for their duties.
It's not us to convince, it's the jury . The closing argument rebuttal is a regular part of the court process. Hopefully , the airing of these court cases will help our citizens understand how our courts work.
I think she's got a very similar look, as far as facial expression and body language, to Jennifer Rosenbaum. I think she really believes she's going to get away with it. She looks cold, heartless, uncaring, and smug.
I guess is why she went for no guilty plea, despite all evidence against her, I'm above everyone else, I'm a narcissist, I'll try and play with detectives, with my limited clothing, pseudo flirty voice, and diss the victim cause I hate her cause she's prettier than me
Ashley told Taylor that SHE (ashley) had buried a lockbox and got her to go in the woods to help her get it. Didn’t have to lift her.. buried her right where she shot her. A theory..
Ashley already has that prison pallor, she’s serving time on fraud charges. Better really get her cell cosy coz looks like it’ll be the inside life for this outdoorsy gal for the rest of her days.....and may they be long & hard ones. (Days that is😉)
This lawyer was awesome she convinced me she killed her she was caught red handed .. yep the lawyer definitely did her job and defended Taylor right .. good job 👏🏼
A couple of times the prosecutor said McArthur wasn’t dumb. Dumb enough to not know about cell phone towers when she probably should have given her own law enforcement background.
Well, to be fair, there probably weren’t cell phones when McArthur got her degree, and she obviously didn’t like working for anybody and having to punch a clock so her CSI skills were dated, too. That doesn’t mean she was stupid, bc she certainly is not....it was sheer luck that Taylor’s body was even found, and without it, the prosecutor would have been up against it. Anyway, McArthur was way too busy chasing, buying things, and hooking up with her boy toy, jealously checking his business to see if his girlfriend was there, drinking with friends and taking them to strip joints, and buying cocaine to kill her friend to even spend time with her 15 year old daughter, let alone watch CSI shows on TV.
Really though...clearly guilty...she buried her at HER families property and she was the last one with her....duh...not a very good crime scene technician was she? Wow
It blows my mind that Ashley would just spend someone else's money like that! Especially on a man! Such large gifts! And that he accepted them!! WTF? Greed is the devils play. I hate greed and our capitalist government breeds that mentality.
Men can be bought, too. McArthur was desperate for him and mistakenly thought he’d at the very least feel obligated to be with her, but he’s an amoral POS if ever I saw one. And don’t kid yourself....greed was identified as a “deadly sin” many long centuries before the concepts of different forms of government were dreamed up.
Oh good point about the same clothes. I hadn't realized it but defense leads to believe she ran off and maybe got killed sometime in those weeks following sept 8th. No consistent with her being buried in the same outfit she left in that morning.
Nailed it! How many Perry Mason moments did you guys count in the rebuttal!!!! If you are into law and procedure, this is top teir prosecution. "Does it happen? Sure. Did it happen here, NO!"
The coldest part of the case: Remember when Taylor's girlfriend had a convo with Taylors ex-husband, that put fear into Taylors girlfriend enough for her to call Ashley and ask for a gun? Remeber when the defense questioned why Taylor's girlfriend asked for a gun, but didnt like guns, and Taylor's girlfriend replied "I dont know how to use semiautomatics"? That means Ashley brought her a revolver..... The murder weapon was a 357. mag which is a revolver.. Did Ashley give Taylor's girlfriend the weapon she killed Taylor with?🧐 If so that is the most cold hearted thing Ashley did. Yes even colder then murder
Excellent prosecution by Ms Jensen... very impressive. The Defense might as well have stayed in their chairs... they were ummm pitiful.. lol Yeah it’s been a year but the videos don’t change!!
If Ashley is so smart, why didn’t she get rid of Taylor’s phone? Or at the very least, kept it in one spot? This prosecutor is amazing. She’s by herself & it appears she put a lot of hard work into this case. She’s amazing.
No rebuttal from the defense for: 1. Taylor’s body was found on her parents/her family property. Zero chance of it being coincidental. 2. Ashley had Taylor’s cell phone after the murder. 3. Cell towers showed both defendant and Taylor’s phone used together while on the Britt property, AFTER the murder. 4. Defendant spent Taylor’s money. 5. Who else could have fit the killer’s mold except their own defendant? 6. All the other evidence like concrete and potting soil, cocaine in beer, matching timelines, etc. The defense had no defenses other than a far reaching bad back-can’t lift the body defense.
This is why the cement was in the front seat floorboard so she could likely position a wheelbarrow under the front door of the jeep and just pulled the bag. This is why she didn't want them in the back. She would likely cut the bag with the shovel and dump over the body. No lifting needed.
Im sorry but for someone who worked in private investigation, she wasn’t too bright when she left the body above ground. That was the reason it was found. Anyway this Prosecutor has really done her job!! Bravo 👏👏👏
I look at this girl and I just can't believe what is obviously true. The evil crime she committed on a friend and considering her education how incredibly sloppy she was in carrying it out. She will have a lot more gray hair by time she see's the light of day again. What was she possibly thinking ?
Yes defendant, pay attention to the prosecutor because she telling you about yourself when you didn't think before you act even with your intelligence, intellicect and training!
It's great that some criminals are smart they try very hard not to letting evidences but they doesn't realize that a cell phones are the best and trustworthy witnesses
she also just could have changed the code for the phone after killing her u know just unlock it with the victims thumb and then set a new pass code in settings.just sayin 🙄
She also had Taylor's dead thumb to change the code or add herself. I wonder how she didn't notice the flip flops missing? I was thinking she killed her close to the burial site, but now I'm skeptical, she would have thrown the shoes with her. I need to rethink the murder scenario in my mind, needs a little tweaking...
I personally love this prosecutor... I have seen many trials that she has worked on for the state and not all of them slam dunks (Like this one) by any means. However, she is always very effective because she is always prepared, Knowledgeable, and , maybe it's just my opinion, but I think she really does care about the victims that she is fighting for.
She is an outstanding prosecutor! Methodical, articulate and chock full of common sense, a trait juries love! The defense in this case was pathetic, weak and desperate! A case presentation juries see thru immediately!
Wonder what the two men sat by her side are thinking when listening to this concrete evidence, they should be ashamed defending such an evil person, knowing full well she’s as guilty as sin. Shame on them.
I feel sorry for the defense. The hole the defendant dug was so deep they almost couldn't find any rope to pull her out with. They had to come by up with something to tell the jury.
Thank you so much for filling me in about verdict, am in Europe but in this case was very interested in the verdict as I believe the actual killer is so somebody I have m x
The cousin said that morning she texted him saying she’s there and he said no your not cuz he didn’t hear her pull up. Because she pulled up way before she texted him. There’s no DNA cuz this evil bitch knew exactly what to do and how to do it. The dogs didn’t even sniff it out wow! So horrible. That’s what I was thinking when I saw the wheelbarrow. That comment how much coke to kill someone. Ofcourse she said come on In cuz nothing happened there! Lol duh! That’s just crazy The son was texting his dead mother? So sad. Ashley looks straight evil. Her eyes tell it all! So sad this chic lost her life for what? Ofcourse all for money. Money is evil! Dang 6weeks later. What’s real messed up is she was trying to blame all her family and everyone else. So sad.
I'm really not sure why so many of you think this Prosecutor was all that good, I think she was roughly average. I also think it's insane to believe that there would be ZERO physical evidence in a crime where a person who committed murder in one place, transferred the body of a person that's the same size as they are, to a 2nd location. Contrary to what this Prosecutor suggested, it is quiet physically challenging to lift let alone carry your own body weight, lifting your own body weight is generally the standard of being in very good physical shape. They said she's a former forensics technician, yet, she wouldn't be smart enough to secure the body immediately and even worse, she has this crime scene experience and yet she didn't think about one of, if not the most incriminating forms of evidence that's used in modern times .... the cellphone???? By the admission of even this mediocre DA, there was literally ZERO physical evidence, of course she wants us to believe that's because, in her words "She's a former crimes scene technician". Yet there couldn't have been more circumstantial evidence, that doesn't sound even a little suspicious to anyone??? It is natural for human beings to have an immediate bias of guilt for a defendant, our minds immediately see a person who's been criminally charged, as guilty until proven innocent but keep in mind, a Prosecution has the tools to make even the most innocent person appear guilty if only circumstantial evidence exists.
Taylor was given a ride on the side by side / atv at the farm . And im sure that’s how she moved her body knowing she could explain dna being present on the atv if it came up later .
It's in the previous L&CN video to this one; this video is the Prosecution's rebuttal to the Defence's closing statement (the Defence isn't allowed a rebuttal), after which the Jury go to deliberate and return their verdict.
Of course, Ashley McArthur wasn't that smart at all. It is repeatedly said that she knew what she was doing because she had a police background. But then she shouldn't have taken her own and the victim's cell phones everywhere. She knew or could have known that these would reveal her locations in any subsequent investigation.
