One final observation, Ashley has looked down at the table pretending to take notes for 95% of this trial until the autopsy photos went up onto the screen. That is the most I've seen her look up so far!
she must have detested Taylor to do that to her and looks like she still does and she looks satisfied that she done it, she looks evil and deserved more than 25 years
Regardless of what the chiropractor says, Ashley’s own text message says that she was lifting horse saddles... those are not light by the way. It is also difficult to mount a horse with back issues of any type.
agree, her lawyer made a point how the heavy stuff she bought was put into her jeep by the seller, but did they present anyone who helped her unload it? Nope.
I am all for chiropractor care. Has helped me a lot but mine wasn’t 90 days it was when I felt better. But personal injury lawyers may send you to one after a wreck or injury for lawsuits against insurance companies. Her husband also had an insurance settlement. Goes more to opportunities for money in my eyes. Which is also why Taylor is dead.
Yes horse tack can be heavy. I have a very serious back issue and riding helps me. Riding horses even helps handicapped people. They can be dangerous and unpredictable, but riding and working around them can be extremely theraputic to someone with back issues.
@@mollieaskerlund9801facts to many proof thief of her money look how she looks at Taylor wow she wants to relieve her work what a monster to take he money to take care her lover and to give the bf the gun she killed her lover
Judge: Chews gum, texts, instructs answering yes or no only, tells opossum stories, jokes with jury, rolls eyes, states she will cut the closing arguments off if either go over the time allotted, the trial must be done before holiday weekend, hurricane frenzy, snacks, snacks, snacks! This is a first degree murder trial, not a traffic violation!
I've never seen a Judge that is in so much of a rush to get a first degree murder trial over and done with without all the evidence being shared in open court. This Judge is ridiculous.
I'd be sooo upset if it was my trial!!! I bet NO ONE but the prosecutors like having to deal with this judge! I watch trials all the time in the past several years and every judge is different but not like this one! I like the ones that only intervene when they absolutely have to. So in another words.... less controlling!!!
They seemed to be trying to claim that it's possible Taylor was not killed on the 8th, so that there's room to doubt that Ashley was the killer, but they have no way to explain the complete silence from her to her friends and family via cell phone from that date on.
I hate when they don't show the autopsy photos.....if someone can't handle it they can click off....we sit for the whole trial and then left out on the autopsy.....
They showed more pictures in this trial than the last several I’ve watched on here. I’m not sure why. I guess it’s a piece of evidence us, you tuber jurors, don’t get😌
I AGREE WITH YOU..WE ARE THE PEOPLE!! IT'S OUR CONSITUTION RIGH TO SEE ALL OF THE PHOTOS! THE ONES IN THE COURT ROOM GET TO SEE THEM..WE WANT TO SEE WHAT THIS MURDERER GET WHAT SHE DESERVES!
I think the judge overdoes the whole funny gal thing and comes off sounding inappropriate and not taking her job seriously. She's there to make sure justice is served, not making us cringe with her unfunny jokes.
it really bothers me that she doesn't stand for the jury. they have far greater power than her. these judges need voted out routinely so they come back down to America.
This DEMON woman barely looks up the entire trial...UNTIL her decomposed, skeleton friend is displayed...and she barely looks down...like she is viewing a prize or trophy. Even an innocent person couldn't stare at that like this woman. The jury noticed that as well. Absolutely evil.
Exactly why she avoided a confrontation, and pulled the COWARD card, a bullet to the back of the head. Poor Taylor never knew her life was about to end. And it wasn't even the "bad guy" we all get warned about! It was her best friend!
No capris pants. Most people know this. However judge STOP CHEWING GUM in court room! This judge something else! Judge stop texting about lunch, hurricane party you are having! I feel so bad for victims family, judge rushing everyone!
I don't think it's respectful to the families of the victim & defendant are equally as important as the jury comfortable. The well meaning lightness & talk about snacks is a little over the top.
Does anyone ever address the fact that the sole purpose of Ashley picking up Taylor that morning was to go get Taylor's money from the bank? That was all Taylor wanted to do and was the only purpose of the trip. Yet According to Ashley they drove around doing 40 other errands all over the county and never went near the bank. Why hasn't anyone asked Ashley to explain?
She quit talking when the body was found. She didn't testify and of course her attorneys are not going to bring it up. I think she disabled Taylor soon after she picked her up.
I’m shocked by how inarticulate the older defence lawyer and the chiropractor are. They actually made it harder to understand what they were saying with their mumbling and umming and ahhing. I’d be really pissed off if these guys were meant to be representing me or offering testimony to support my defence. It’s borderline embarrassing how bad they are!
Odd that a supposed medical expert like this chiropractor needs to read their education and credentials, they lived it after all, and should be able to present a summary of it that makes sense in a few sentences like the ME did. The litany of weekend courses and certifications he listed, haltingly including the location of each which no one has heard of, makes it seems like he is grasping to make himself more impressive, when in actuality it makes him less so.
She goes and rides her horse so that don’t meant nothing because Taylor was tiny and skinny Ashley is a bigger person and it funny that it in her aunt farm so the defense sound ride
She went to the Chiropractor when she had an insurance claim in after a traffic accident & hasn’t been back in 9yrs....That back of hers has seen lots of action since then. She even said on the day Taylor went missing she had picked up a saddle which was why she was winded.
Huh, I've got a trial question if anyone is interested. Is it within this judges right to deny the normal progression of a trial, if that makes sense?? Seems like she is telling both sides or, giving the impression that, she will deny any additional whitenesses/evidence into the trial if they can't wrap it up by the end of the day. Never seen this before. Many thanks
There's a short discussion programme on the Law and Crime channel which raises a very similar point. If the defendant is found guilty she may well have grounds for appeal as a result of the judge hurrying things along. Streamlining cases happens in civil proceedings but we're dealing with a serious case here.
@@geoffpoole483 ok, many thanks for your explanation. I was thinking the same as far as the appeal goes. I was also wondering if that is why the defense is not offering up much in the way of cross-examining the witnesses. Almost seems like they are going with the flow because they have a plan already for an appeal or motion for mistrial.
And she only denies due process to the defense. I have listened to some talk shows with lawyers discussing that this will get the verdict appealed for sure
👏👏👏 for P. Counsel and D. Counsel for speaking on record about needing more time to prepare their closing arguments. Speedy vs unnecessarily rushed has been on my mind.
Mel Michele I was wondering if the judge rushing the trial along and the P Counsel and D Counsel having to eliminate or streamline areas of their case, would be grounds for an appeal. The defence ought to object in order to be able to present the best case for their client. At first I thought it strange that they didn’t object, but then I wondered if they were doing that intentionally to ensure there’s grounds for an appeal. The appeal could be based on the hurried trial, and also a poor defence because they didn’t object to how hurried the trial was.
The fact that she went from being treated several times a month to one and zero times, tells me that whatever was wrong with her back/ neck was not as bad as she made it out to her husband.. she is totally physically capable of moving a dead body around , oops I mean a saddle 🙄
30:14 The way the Defendant is, during photos of the autopsy is just plain weird. THIS WAS HER FREAKING FRIEND!! If she didn't do anything and had any type of a heart, she'd be bawling her eyes out, and having a hard time looking. This heartless broad doesn't even care at all! 😤
I don't know how she is getting awAy with it? I don't care if she has decided already this person is guilty(?) She is worried about a friggin hurricane or her dog has to go poop, she should not be doing this.
This judge must have an extended holiday weekend planned, out of state of course, with that storm lurking. She is so desperate for the trial to be over before the weekend.
Right on. I was so appalled at the way she tries to act nice and smiley and then switches off. Making sure that everybody knows she's the boss then switches off and smiles and says something glib she is so unfit to be a judge.. if this case has to go on for as long as it should that's just too bad that's the way it is... both defense and prosecution attorneys are doing great work..
How can defendant look so stone faced at her "friends" remains?! Almost starring only to look away to hopefully write out, "I'm an evil person to do such a thing."
I have never witnessed a trial where the Judge is more concerned with time (and court room temperature) than the fairness of the actual trial. She has opened the door big time for possible appeals down the line by her haste to end this trial.
No amount of trial time would make a diff in this case. The evidence is overwhelming that Ashley is guilty. Its prob the strongest circumstantial evidence case Ive ever seen!!
I found her to be very annoying. She's trying way to hard to be the star in the case/trial. I'm like plz just sit down & shut up, bc your humor & wit is a 2.5 on a scale of 1 to 10.....
So much of the judge's conduct throughout the trial was inappropriate, and disrespectful to the victim and her loved ones. Her priorities were all wrong - she may be qualified, but she isn't very bright.
If the person wearing capris is on the jury, it's probably because the judge is making it seem like a party for the jurors. Surprised that they aren't munching on those all important snacks while sitting in the jury box, watching the trial.
Thanks for bringing us trials!! Also, thanks for actually showing us the pictures ... I still cant believe she was all skeleton in such a short time. Being able to see the pictures makes it so much more real and gives us more insight and understanding of how heinous and unremorseful and almost lazy about Taylors "burial". The way she left her makes me think she wanted to go back and see her decomposing or something ... Just makes me think she's even more of a terrible person.
I know not everyone reacts or acts or handles situations the same... but that being said, Ashley MacArthur, every single time I’ve seen her, has a look on her face as if she’s being inconvenienced... not as if she’s fighting for her life and her friend was killed and FOUND in her family’s property! Amazing!
Ashley is one cold female. How could a "friend"look at the pictures of death, body and burial of the person she called a friend without any emotion at all??! She reacts as of she's seeing pictures of a dead bug instead of a human she knew! If nothing of evidence proves her guilt of cold blooded murder her demeanor does. I'm watching this thinning of my friends over known since babies and thinking of how much they mean to me no matter the time between us getting together. I just can't begin to think of the hurt id feel if I had to see them in this way. It crushes me. How anyone can call someone a friend for any amount of time and take their life for any reason is beyond my comprehension. Friend share laughs, secrets, tears, hugs.. Not a plot to end that forever. She is scary. Completely scary. Black Widow doesn't even begin to describe her. Her ex husbands and her flavor of the week better than their luck or God that they didn't end up in her gun sight for an insurance payout. They are lucky that money was all they lost.
Besides the redundant testimony of this Quack, if Ashley made Taylor walk into the woods and she shot her on the spot, she wouldn't have to lift anything.
The defense probably asks “are you able to fake cry, look emotional at the loss of your “friend”? No? Ok. Then write non-stop notes on this legal pad.” Until those autopsy pics, then she suddenly couldn’t take her eyes off the screen!
This judge has got to be the most inconsiderate judge I've ever heard in my life!! She's all for the prosecution you can tell by the welcoming smile she gives when the state addresses her, but when the defense attorneys ask a question or object to a certain point, she blows them off and speed them through..Yes I say there is enough grounds for a new trail!! And I hope its not in her courtroom..
Completely agree.Putting time restraints on closing arguments is a huge blunder,we will have a retrial even though the appeal failed. She will need a better attorney who is prepared, and knows the law.
Judge is obviously worried about making it down to her beach house by Friday happy hour - to catch the sunset. She barely even tried to hide it... Bottoms up, your honor 🍷 🏠🏖🌅
Good! They made Ashley look at what she did to that poor woman! The victim was only 33! What an evil person! Shoulda just gone to jail for theft!! Pure Evil.
This forensic pathologists is extremely qualified. She was definitely one of those "over achiever," type students. And the fact that she's also a practicing MD as well is awesome.
This judge missed her chance at her true career - on the stage, chief protagonist! It's nice and kind to put people at ease in the courtroom but entirely another thing when the judge becomes the centre of attention - the diva - and therefore takes away from the gravity of the situation for everyone in her court, on both sides, it actually, perhaps well-meaning in the beginning, turns the process into a farce.
I've been thinking this the whole time I've been watching this... I do not understand AT ALL how it's ok to "promise" a jury be home and done with a murder trial by the end of the week...
It’s not the water that does the damage, it’s being beaten against rocks that are under water and/or sea creatures feeding from the body that does the damage. A dead body in water will (roughly), and without disturbance by rocks (or other submerged structures), decompose at least four times slower than bodies decaying on the surface of the ground; decomposition of buried bodies takes approximately twice as long as an exposed cadaver (temperature and insects/animals are taken into account in these cases). The reason why decomposition is generally delayed in submerged/floating corpses is due to less aerobic taphonomic activity, i.e. less oxygen to support the decomposition processes. Cheerful stuff, huh? ;)
I just noticed that they took GOD out of the swearing in. Yes I am a little slow. First time I have seen this in a trial. But then there are a lot of firsts in this courtroom.
Thank you so much for the excellent coverage. Just one thing--would it be possible to number the videos? I came in a little late and have had to play catch up and had a hard time figuring out the order of the videos.
If I were Ashley's defense, I'd call a mistrial because of that judge rushing the entire trial & demeaning the process with her personal, inappropriate diatribes. Get her off the bench. 🤡
There is a difference between a speedy trial, and a rushed trial. This judge is out of control with her desire to have everything done and over with regardless of anything else.
Maybe she’s foreshadowing should she adjudicate/deliver a sentence....”... You see, Miss_______;, the possums in my stories can play dead. The victim in this case could not.’ (Just brainstorming. 🤓🗽).
LOL!!! I know people in wheelchairs/ w/ paraplegia that still use firearms, bows, etc....defense was grasping at straws. Feel sorry for that chiropractor having to be there.
This is the most unprofessional judge I have ever seen. I don’t care if it’s a murder case or a divorce, her jokes are absolutely not for a courtroom. You can’t wear crop pants or make any faces during testimony but I guess you can joke around all u want! Ridiculous 🤨
Always amazes me that I defended can sit there and look at the morbid autopsy photos with zero facial or emotional expressions on their face. I suppose that is their way of trying to make it look like they are innocent in front of the jury or, maybe they are so desensitized from the whole experience they are unable to show any kind of emotion. Who knows, I certainly don't and hopefully will never know.
If they showed a body of my friend on the screen and she was in that condition, I would not have been able to hold back the tears. She's cold, if nothing else. I know she was a CSI, but come on - that's somebody you stated you were trying to help, albeit in illegal actions.
Thank you for the comic relief in the comments. Why the hell am I still watching trial day 4? It’s been so baaaad but now the comments have made it worthwhile!!
What a cold hearted witch, absolutely no emotion while looking at what she did to her " friend ". Literally the only time she's really paying attention because she gets off on what she did to this poor young woman. This Defense Attorney needs to retire, has no idea what he's doing anymore, so let your son take over 🙄 State did an amazing job during this whole trial!
Ashley lawyers I bet told her to look at the pictures....it's the only time I've seen her make eye contact with anyone for more then a second.....hey Ashley look what you've done 😢
For someone who maintained her innocence she sure doesn’t seem to be that upset at body discovery or autopsy photos of a murdered friend. She should be inconsolable and a complete blubbering wreck if truly innocent and concerned.
