I know it's been five years but Imma just say he's the one who wrote the songs, he didn't actually play Percy

it's theatre, child actors are a) hard to find b) hard to manage and c) expensive in terms of theatre. especially considering this is a musical that needs TONS of kids. musicals perform around 5 times a week, too. at least even though the actors were old, they acted as 12 year olds. ((which is actually not that unheard of in musicals since like i said, child actors are a disaster to handle esp for small musicals like these)) and stayed accurate to the books. can't say the same for the movies though hahaha
