Such a moving performance. She did enough to deserve 4 tens and the public changing their mind about her. I've read a few comments saying "she cries and uses tears for votes" - this hurts... She cried because she lost her dad earlier this year. Get a grip people.

Just for a moment, let's forget about things like "she's a ringer" or whatever and just stop and appreciate this for the beautiful piece of art that it is. Ashley may be the finest dancer to ever grace Strictly's stage - and for that, win or lose, I am grateful to have seen her.

The emotion Ashley managed to portray in this dance was stunning! Her movements and the choreography represented perfectly what it's like to lose a loved one, and the dance thoroughly deserved the first 40 of the series in my opinion. 10.

I keep coming back to this video for the feels and inspiration it gives me every time. Love this choreography & how flawlessly it was executed so so so so much!!!!!

NOW THIS IS A TRUE CONTEMPORARY ROUTINE! I was looking forward to this, and now I know why! The lifts weren’t tacky, and added so much to the movement and quality of the dance. Ashley did such an amazing job of what I call a “Rumba-like” movement: the quick-slow-quick-slow feel of a contemporary routine! And her face was just dripping with emotion. And her lines, as always, were absolutely on point! I couldn’t ask for more from a contemporary routine! Absolutely amazing work! My favorite of the night. A stunning 10!!!

I am a dancer , and I do contemporary , forget that “she’s already trained in dance” , and just appreciate the performance , they way Ashley managed to portray the story and show all of her emotions in the dance , is amazing , I think for Craig to give her a 9 , for not seeing her breath was harsh because in the pauses (which there wasn’t that many) you can clearly see she is breathing maybe not over exaggerating it like you’re sometimes supposed to but that’s then down to the choreography not her 🤷‍♀️ Truly deserved the first 40 of the season , in my opinion , well done Ashley and Pasha 💘

Emotionally that was one of the best ever danecs strictly has ever seen she had beautiful fluidity and style, she is so graceful, astonishing lifts, gorgeous spins, beautiful kicks and lines and the storytelling was FAB-U-LOUS *10/10* no question

As a contemporary dancer, watching this I notice things the audience obviously didn’t. They cheer at some points but then there is silence after a REALLY hard move, that even after 5 years I can’t do, yet after a week she can. This is so powerful and moving! ❤️

This actually made me cry. I just love Ashley so much, she’s an amazing women. This deserved four 10s!!! Pissed off she didn’t get it to be honest. I hope she wins

2018 in my opinion was the best strictly year

I absolutely loved this routine when I first saw it, one of my all time strictly favourites. Eight months after this aired, my dad lost his battle with cancer and watching this now brings me to tears. This is pure, raw emotion. I cannot fathom how she managed to keep her composure, knowing what she was going through. Her skills are on a whole other level.

This was truly breathtaking and why I love contemporary. I wish people would stop going on about her dance experience. With those views, you could never have most singers/performers on the show. And more, you wouldn’t have great performances like this. It was emotional and perfection.

I usually prefer the energetic dances ( like jive or paso doble) to the mellow and slow ones, like this. However, this dance is exceptional! It is so beautiful and moving, I can’t stop watching it! Well done Pasha for the amazing choreography and well done Ashley for the outstanding performance! Now you are my favourite couple by far on SCD this season!

I really love that they used the second verse of the song because it really describes what her relationship and what happened to her father. What a stunning and heartfelt dance. I was crying throughout the dance.

Absolutely stunning. You know when a celebrity has hit their peak of dancing when the professional is barely noticed. Pasha beautifully and gracefully took a step back in this dance and let Ashley shine and it was absolutely amazing.

Every moment in that performance you could feel the passion. I’m tired of the pathetic comments about her being a a dancer in the past, yeah yeah yeah, get over it, it happens every year and if the producers had an issue about it they wouldn’t ask them to be in the show. She’s truly a blessing to this show and Pasha completely nailed the choreography, shame about her not getting the full marks since I think this performance was top quality but what do I know I’m not a professional dancer or anything. Ashley and Pasha work so well together and every week you can clearly see all the effort and practice that goes into the performances.

I feel like she deserved full house. Even though she’s experienced, she perfected almost every step/movement in this piece. I felt like I was watching a film or music vid. So much depth. Good job gurl 9.5

It was absolutely stunning and mesmerizing. It was a top class contemporary - 100% emotion and 100% technique. It was super fluid, her lines were gorgeous and I was feeling that I am watching two professional contemporary dancers out there! Week after week after week she produces such strong, flawless routines, technically and artistically !! Simply SUMBLIME!! A 10!!!

Ashley was allowed to go on strictly so she only got a little headstart and she was amazing week after week she was amazing and didn’t deserve 3 dance offs she didn’t use her Dad’s death for votes she was so sad yet she still maneged to do this she is truly phenomenal one of the most amazing dancers to grace the strictly floor

Gosh. Contemporary, when done badly, can be arty-farty and pretentious. But this is the best we can expect from an SCD interpretation of this genre. I loved the contemporary showdance between Pasha and Caroline, and this one did not disappoint. It conveys so clearly the strong vs weak, the push vs pull, the soft vs hard, the quick vs slow. Those beautiful, beautiful extension and pointed feet (look at them!). It’s like beautiful prose expressed into body movements. Well done. I don’t know how to score a contemporary dance but will happily give this a 9.5 at least!

I don’t feel emotion in a lot of dances but this is unreal WOW! Pasha you clever man, I knew he can choreograph contemporary after Caroline Flacks show dance but I had no idea this would come close to that standard. I felt the story from beginning to end her movement was sublime her emotion through her body and her face was outstanding A sensational dance from a fab-u-lus dancer. I know she won’t win but let’s enjoy the amazing dances while we can My first 10 of the series well done Pashley u done it!

Anyone else notice the almost accidental kiss at the end?😂 But honestly, this was a beautiful performance. 10 from me!💓

Just a few things to say about this dance... Firstly, this is why it is great to have a “trained dancer” on strictly- so we can see more dances like that Also this is one of those dances that I keep coming back to, same with her show dance and Faye’s jazz And this is one incredible dance. It hit all the beats of the music, but it had such a delicate balance of fluidity and staccato and her emotions were perfect, and the relationship was also perfect.

I honestly couldn’t tell who the pro is when I first saw them this dance. It was amazing.

That was just extraordinary ,so much skill Love and emotion ,I just wish it would have been longer ,I used to favour Latin over Ballroom ,now after watching this beautiful performance my favourite is Contemporary dance. Congratulations to Pasha too for his choreography. I noticed a number of the professional dancers tearing up,they know a good performance when they see one. AND Craig should wash his eyes out,Ashley WAS BREATHING heavily ,he said she wasn't which is allowed in this style ,what an self opinionated fool he is, robbing her of a 10 , and many others before,the sooner he is sacked the better,he spoils it for everyone with his sour face and unfair marking and stupid remarks over the time he has been on SCD..he couldn't judge a tiddly winks match fairly.He seems to enjoy being the evil Queen,but this is not a Pantomime---- Darling---,its a serious dance competition.......Get real or go! Whether Ashley was breathing or not, her performance was just BREATHTAKING, no pun intended. 10+10+10 +10= 40 A simply beautiful song too not easy to perform well done..
