@@Shvarzehayee I think it’s supposed to be silly. It’s a comedy show, after all. And I don’t think that seeing value on an artist’s performance, even if it’s just a silly cameo, makes a person less mature. But I’d be happy to discuss this with you, if you’re willing to elaborate.
@@Shvarzehayee So what now? People can't enjoy a comedy show? This sitcom was not for children in the first place, so why the "grow up already" comment? They were adults back then too
@@wonderland4515same here lol Red was my fav cause he was a lot like my mom? Only difference is she’s from Scotland and she is bi racial and a police womanSo yeah we had this show in our house growing up lol. I mean we had a real life parent like this and the actual show. still love watching it got the original on dvd and love the new one lol. Wonder if he’s ever gonna threaten Leia with a foot in the ass or call her a dumbass I mean other then half dumbass? I know he did the foot in a** with her friends lol.
Watching the woman who plays kitty seeing all these actors that are like family to her and seeing her smile honestly feels so genuine and real even the man who plays red smiles when Ashton hugged kitty
It’s amazing how Ashton and Mila remained in character after all these years. The nostalgia was so strong it was like watching That 70s show all over again with these two.
Supposedly Mila had the hardest time getting back into character since she’s nothing like Jackie lol. I can’t remember which actor had said that about her
You have to wonder, despite how seemingly terrible Michael and Jackie are for each other, how wonderful they are as parents to have raised a booksmart and heartwise kid. Hopefully, we get to see more of that in the second season.
You know what makes this cooler than just being nostalgic? Besides Kelso and Jackie being back together? The fact Ashton and Mila got married and had kids later on in life.
@@BaronOfAnarchy Which is funny because Mila Kunis did not like how the writers put her and Kelso back together. She wanted Jackie and Fez to end up together lol
@@No-onesgayformoleman honestly, that relationship felt forced just like when they wrote Eric went to Africa and then came back so they tried to add this other guy to try to pursue Donna. Jackie use to walk all over him. You see Fez become more confident in the show and everyone besides Eric had her at that point so it's like nah. Fez deserved someone else even now.
@@BaronOfAnarchy I think it was character development for the both of them. Everyone grew in character. But I think Mila said that the timing doesn't make sense. The show ends at 1980 eve. By then Jackie and Fez were together. However in that 90s show Jackie and Kelso have a 15 year old son. so Jackie and Fez would have to broken up, Kelso would have to have broken up with brook, hook up, have a baby all in the same year. They kinda undid Kelso's growth with brook too.
Their scene was short yet they literally got the biggest audience cheer. Tells you everything. It sucks that they might not appear in the show again. Ashton's moment with Mace Coronel was ADORABLE Also you could tell that Ashton loved saying "well damn, Jackie" again lmao
Ah he probably says it all the time at home lol. I think he was happy that he didn't have to act afraid of red anymore. Now the get joy in pissing him off lol
Kelso and Jackie were definitely my favorite legacy cameo. Don't understand why they couldn't have any screen time with Eric and Donna though. Would have been cool for there to even be a quick reunion.
Maybe next season. I’d love a reaction of Donna seeing her daughter date a Kelso or Jackie’s reaction to her son dating the offspring of both Eric and Donna lol
Eric and Donna never had the same chemistry. Difficult when she's like, a giant, and hes like a skinny teenager. im more impressed that Mila and Ashton stayed together this long. Especially with names like Mila and Ashton.
I love that ashton and mila probably drove to the studio togetherto reprise their roles. Just something about the thought... "you excited? Yeah, me too" Beautiful
At 0:48, seeing Kurtwood Smith fail to suppress a genuine smile as his castmates get reunited genuinely makes me so happy. One of my all time favorite aspects to That 70s Show was how you could tell how much fun the cast always had and how much they really liked each other.
Yeah I looked it up on what he had to say about coming back. A big part in that smile was nervousness. Him and Miley Kunis said it was exciting but also "very trippy."
That was the perfect reveal for Jay in the show, initially we had no idea that he is Kelso’s son. Then here comes Michael barging in then comes Jackie. Everything about this scene was perfect.
Me thought like: Oh he is gonna be the Kelso type of this group without actually thinking he might be the Kelso. When Ashton appeared, I really had a oh-god-of-course-moment..
@@Maatjuhhh He is going to be like the smart version of his dad Kelso he will get into funny situations I think Gwen's brother is going to be the Kelso one in the group.
@@jonathonhilton363 i think we're just getting older. I watched and i think if this was made right after that 70s, it would've been fine. Just like the Alien prequels, timing ruined them more than anything.
There should have been more of Jackie. She was the best. I love the way Mila says "Let's GO Michael" and Mila is the most beautiful woman in the world.
So heartwarming to see them return to reprise the roles that got them to meet in the first place. Seeing how happy Ashton and Mila are IRL and how well they can pull off the dysfunction of Michael and Jackie after all these years is such a treat.
They gave me every thing I wanted from them in a minute. The fact that Mila apparently had to find Jackie again but the "Michael" at the end was just perfect. Full circle. I screamed and cried at the same time. I need more tbh. Almost finished with this season. It's so much better and funnier than I expected. So I need more seasons but also more and longer cameo's from the OG's. 🧡
I've only watched the first two episodes but so far I've enjoyed it. I was a little worried about it but so far so good. I'm hoping we get at least 4 seasons so I can see Eric nerd out over the first star wars prequel lol. Old cast members have been absolutely awesome, I think the new kids need to find their footing a bit, but there's been some pretty funny moments from them as well. Overall very pleased!
It's nice to see no one has missed a beat. It's been so long since seeing Mila Kunis do Jackie, I forgot how good she is at it. Every time I see her now, she's so nice and friendly.
Red really mellowed with age. I can’t believe he gave up on stopping Leia from hanging out with a Kelso so quickly. He was super protective of Lori back in the day.
Seeing them onscreen together just brings instant happiness because they play so well of eachother and them doing it while playing there iconic characters dials it to 100 :)
Absolutely NONE of the original casts missed a single beat when reprising their roles. It's like they completely stayed in character for all those years.
At least the writers reversed the Jackie/Fez relationship from Season 8 but it’s a shame it regressed all of Jackie’s character development in the last seasons of the show where she had long since moved on from Kelso. It would have been better for her to be back with Hyde although it’s understandable why that didn’t happen due to what’s going on with Danny Masterson in real life.
Them making it so Jackie and Kelso are on and off with this being their second marriage makes it better for me...but for real, would've made so much more sense for her to be with Hyde.
@@cass12234 I don’t think the actors being married should automatically mean their onscreen characters should be together too. “Thirtysomething” and “The League” both had married couples IRL who weren’t paired together onscreen. It’s really lazy story-wise to have Jackie being the same shrill, Michael abusing snobby character she was in Season 1.
@@jac0736 they couldn't do it the actor playing hide is currently in jail. So even if they wanted her to end up with Hyde it wouldn't work or they had to hire a new actor so I Get the choice they made. The alternative would've been that they had to make up different partners. Making it even more unbelievable that their kids all somehow became friends. As if none of them even moved away etc. Not realistic at all these two couples make it more realistic. That because they got coupled up so young they ended up staying in their home town. Prob living down the street from their parents houses. So their kids go to the same school and are more likely to be friends that way. Mix in some random friends and it works more for the feel i think they wanted to go with. otherwise it would have just been Erics daughter. Maybe even without Donna as the mom. So it would be less connected to the old show. I do hope jackie and kelso get to mature in a lot of ways and this was just fun for the first episode. Since I do agree its lazy writing if their 30plus year old self is at the same level they were as teens.
Lol they were getting remarried for the 3rd time they said. So on again and off again still. Fez was in it too. they had Kitty ask what happened to him and Jackie and he replied something in way too thick an accent. On purpose I suppose to keep us guessing.
Mila and Ashton filmed this scene right after testifying in favor of releasing the Golden State Killer from prison because he helped them find their lost dog one time.
The Jackie and Kelso characters are the biggest goofballs(Kelso), spiled brat(Jackie), and they were so epic in their roles. I remember when Kelso saw Eric Foreskin's sister and he comes racing across the basement, jumps over the couch, slips, and slams into the table. NEVER losing his character, and dropping his line perfectly! Ashton was BRILLIANT, and Mila was absolutely adorable and easily a perfect brat.
I figured Jay was Jackie and Kelso’s kid the moment I saw him. Props to the casting department, he actually looks like a mix of Ashton and Mila. It’s kinda eerie.
Ashton Kutcher did better in these 2 minutes of that 90s show than he did in all his 4 seasons of two and a half men edit: how the fuck did this comment blow up overnight
They are absolutely amazing. Note that in real life Mila & Ashton are family, so I believe there was additional fun for them to play as family of Kelso & Jackie. And yes, "Sweet Lord, it's evolving!"
This was my favorite cameo of the OG cast. It was short but packed the biggest punch. They were my favorite characters so was happy to see them again and they both fell right back into it. So funny. I always loved it when Jackie screamed "Michael."..and they even gave Kelso a Buuuuurn. :)
I appreciate this comment as a Jurassic Park fan and just wanted to add, a major area where they screwed up there (among other major problems with that film) was not bringing back Hammond’s grandchildren.
Absolutely loved this episode to bits seeing red just go ballistic emotion wise was so funny and also so great to see how they managed to get the old cast back like this
Yeah, I think she's hilarious here. The Jackie and Hyde fans are bitterly claiming she's lost character development, but I always thought Jackie was at her best with Kelso. Never found her funny with Hyde.
Having just watched this episode, what I really loved about it is, at 40 I can relate to the classic characters AND as a teenager in the '90s I can relate to their kids.
Lol 😂 it’s nuts these two ended up married in real life, I loved them on that 70s show I hope there’s a few scenes with the old gang as well can’t wait till this weekend to see all the episodes
Mila said years ago that she and Ashton wouldn't be able to do long-term projects together again because one of them usually stays home to look after their children whilst the other one is working.
@@iluvlaffertyI think they could do more episodes just split up. They seem to stagger Eric and Donna appearances after episode 1. So maybe Jackie appears to give Jay advice or Michael gives the advice or whatever. They can still be involved in the show, this will probably be the only scene where they’re both on camera together though, unless the show goes on for 8 seasons like That 70’s show did. I’m hopeful that the next season has more than 10 episodes. 10 works for hour long shows, but they honestly should double it for sitcoms like this.
I was KIND of skeptical about how well this would be, but I watched the first episode earlier and I was laughing my ass off! It's actually good! Kelso coming in with the "Damn Jackie!" was priceless! lmao This show is gonna be good.
I'm liking it, even the new cast are making me laugh a fair bit. Just enjoying it for what it is, I know the old cast aren't a part of the show in a major way like before. Still has a lot of nods to the old show and those are really fun. The girl playing Leia is a joy to watch
@@thatswhatsup0493 I would say so. Nothing feels forced, the cast are all really good. I was worried it wouldn't live up to that 70's show, but this is really funny to watch. Leia is literally Donna and Eric made over. lol
@@thatswhatsup0493 Kitty and Red are fantastic. The cameos are fantastic. The kids are the weakest part, but about half of them are actually pretty good. I've been getting more and more laughs from them as they've settled into their characters throughout the season. The main girl that plays Leia is probably the best of the kid cast, which is a good thing. She seems to have good comedic timing and delivery.
You know that the smiles they had when they all saw each other were real. Being on set together again man. Must bring them so much joy. It brings ME joy. hahah
"Its evolving"! God I missed Red! The lines, delivery, facial expressions, and emotion especially anger when somebody does something dumb. His interactions with Kelso were some of the best too! I will never forget the garage intimidation scene when Kelso is seeing Laurie! To those reading this look it up if you forget! Also when Kelso glues his hand to the fridge and laughs at Red about the oatmeal prank.
I just love these two. Seeing them together is such a treat. I'd love to see them in a full feature together. I love them both. His latest interview with his brother was so touching and revealing. I really enjoy their work.
Michael and Jackie are exactly how my wife and I are to this day. Been together since 1990. Our personalities are even similar. 😂 It’s a mess, but we make it work. That 70’s Show was the best!
The show that handcrafted my childhood memories after soo many years is back and has not steered away from its original roots at all. HELLO WISCONSIN!!!!
I can't believe I like the energy of this show even better than the original. I thought it was gonna suck, but it's so good! The kids are sweet towards each other and more innocent, but are still hilarious and compliment each other. Crazy how it's a modern version but it's less dirty than the older one. Usually newer stuff is filthier. 😄
That’s because the 90’s are in the post sexual revolution and plus the casting of the new characters are in fact minors so it would make sense for the writers to play it safe
I got 2 episodes in. Thought the scenes with the old characters we're fun, but didn't vibe with any of the new kids at all. I'm not sure if I'll push on.
And it's nothing like the actual 90s. It's a show made for today that supposedly takes place in the 90s but nothing about is 90s except maybe the clothes.
the show is great...please make more...i love seeing Red and Kitty back at it...and all the old cast...new cast is awesome to ....man...takes me back..in a really good way though...oh and best of all the humour is still there...laughed out loud on a number of occasions ...well done and thank you
