The Blue Trains were several long-distance sleeper trains with lines across Japan, much like in the West romanticized as an adventurous journey in the popular imagination. They lost popularity to faster, newer trains and aviation and were eventually forced into retirement. The song is about knowing the end of the line is approaching but sticking it through to the end. “Until it all finally runs out, I want to live.”
A "white" [pure] voice tearing through the dark The words you spit out Icy shards of thought stabbing my chest The final stop for this endless "blue" [naiveté] Like waking from a dream to "now" (reality) I plug the wounds but the thoughts still leak out You say things like "real," Such easy words The final stop for us with no hopes Like waking from a dream to "now" Here, The sunset runs openly Like tumbling down a warped rail How far, you ask Until it all finally runs out in the end, I want to go on... Over there, so far away No real reason, just anxious to keep going The sunset runs openly Like tumbling down a warped rail Melancholy lurks in every day Until it all finally runs out in the end, I want to live...
Thank you for the explanation and lyrics :) I replayed this song when I was younger just because of the instrumentals, but knowing the meaning now, I really appreciate the song more. I should wake up from reminiscing about the past and live my life.
OMFG I FINALLY FOUND THIS SONG,it's been sooooo longggg 😭😭😭, i listened to this everyday on that random japanese station when i was kid and dont know what's the title until now, more than 10 years,I FINALLY FOUND IT JESUSSSS,MY CHILDHOOD

In my personal opinion this song ranks the highest of all AKFG songs. Love it so much! The drums rhythm, bass line, guitar, voice, the technical aspect of it all! Love, love, love!
I'm a drummer and when I heard this song I was blown. One of my favorite tracks to play to. Still not perfect but damn the drums and the composition of the whole song is just amazing.
Instantly transported back to summer '06, about to start my senior year of HS, spent most of the summer drowning in Japanese culture and music, my brand new silver-backed iPod filled to the brim with Ajikan and pillows music, ready to take on the world...

Came to upvote this. Their first 4 albums + everything by the pillows that I could get my hands on in the mid-2000s was one of the few things I could consistently rely on in HS.
I first heard this one on a TV channel called Animax when I was just a little kid and I still find myself randomly singing it from time to time up to this day. Great song and great band!
Me too, if the anime ended and left some spare time, Animax will play the MV of some bands, and Blue Train was the most frequent played MV backthen. It almost showed up at 6.55 am, and I always patiently wait to hear the song before I take off to school
I was mistaken, sorry. I know a guy who has direct relation to ajikan saying that there'd be chance of them to make a gig in US. He said it would be announced by September or so.
It's spreading. Japan is slowly going away from just cd's and stuff finally. Guess they are finally seeing ways to make money with RU-vid and Streaming services.
Dude I thought I was tripping for a while. I used to watch these videos years ago, but I couldn't find them anymore, then all of a sudden here they are.
Lyrics via Google A white voice that tears apart the darkness The words you spit out The mind that pierces my chest with freezing thoughts The destination through endless blue As if waking from a dream, is the present The emotions that flow out even when I have sealed that wound You say "that's reality", and so on Those words are too easy Our destination through our dreamlessness As if waking from a dream, is the present And Here In my nakedness, I run through the evening As if rolling through a distorted on-rails reality "Until where?" you ask Until just that is erased and my loss of integrity is put away I want to go on Ah, far, far away Even without reason, my impatience persists In my nakedness, I run through the evening As if rolling through a distorted on-rails reality My depression, hidden in the day Until just that is erased and my loss of integrity is put away I want to live on
I'm surprised I've heard most of these songs already. Pandora ftw. AKG and Mucc give me nostalgia from my of my anime and music discovery phase back in my sophomore year of high school.
I remember discovering this in 2019 around new year convincing myself the year to follow would be great. It wasn't. The highlight of my year was going to see Spiderman Far From Home because I worked so damn much that year. Long Live Blue Train!
Oh, man, this takes me back. This was the first AKFG song I heard that wasn't associated with anime and it was when they became my favorite band. They're still my favorite band, and this song is still as good as it was back then.
Not from Japan but some of the “Blue Trains” (14系) that ran in Hokuriku region were donated to our country, and I was able to board them but only once since it was a short-lived service and the coaches are now rotting in one of the train yards. I long for their return, hopefully to be able to listen to this song while riding them but that is very unlikely now.
this music make me back some years and look myself breathing, eating animes and japanese culture! i am really tahnkful for the AKG, they always do a great job! come to Brasil soon as possible guys! there are many fans here waiting for this!!!

I don't know what this songs about but it really speaks to me right now, I'm on the cusp of adulthood, graduating in 4 months and through emotion this songs describes that feeling perfectly
Yo escuché la canción en el 2005 😳 en Animax también, de mis primeras canciones de Jrock, enamorada de la batería y la secuencia de los instrumentos, yo bien chica sin saber nada de japonés pero enamorada del idioma ya 😻
Please asian kungfu Generation put this song back in spotify. It is my favorite song and its very dissapointing that is has been removed! I beg you please put it back!!!!
@@Use11835 Normalmente as músicas mais conhecidas são as que tocam em animes, como não é o caso dessa, não ficou tão popular. Uma pena, porque é muito boa!!!!
