I typically wear 2E wide as my left foot is wider at the toe and I wonder if the mesh is stretchy enough to accommodate my feet so is the mesh stretchable? Thanks
Some have experienced that in Clifton and Mach. I did in Mach but it went away. A touch in Clifton 6 but hardly worth mentioning for me. It seems to come from the design of the side walls and certain feet. Also for me in Mach after packing insole for 5 or so miles as well as maybe forming side walls never an issue again but others it was a show stopper. No arch issues in Glideride.
Sam, if I recall Thomas from Believe in the Run thought this was a great shoe for midfoot strikers, whereas you said it's better for heel strikers. Is your experience diff from Thomas's? I'm a midfoot striker and would seriously consider a pair of these.
He may have said and it may be a good shoe for mid foot strikers but ASICS was clear the focus was on heel strikers and the rolling motion of the Glide Sole from heel to toe by immobilizing the ankle joint.
Can't really give you solid advice as not a medical person. What shoes are you running in now? And did contribute to the issue? Did you recently change drop of your shoes either to a higher or lower drop?
ForrestGumpny FGNY never have run Kayano and probably wouldn’t. To much un necessary support for me and I would say most. GR while not in the support/pronation category as Kayano has plenty enough. This is the ASICS to seriously consider. See linked written review, for me GR far superior to Cumulus

What are you training in now and how are they working for you? What paces? While super cushioned and light and it all depends on your pace and experience as well I would say Rincon might be good for a 2nd marathon, Glideride for a first. In part I say this as its rocker should really help you in later miles when tired while Rincon may start to feel flat hard to move and when back on the heels its softer heel may bog you down. At fast paces of course not so much,
@@RoadTrailRun I've been using the Rincon's, Skechers Razor 3, and New Balance propel. Only been running "seriously" since November and the marathon is March 21st. My best practice half marathon was 1:34(7:20 pace) but I'll probably try to just stay around 8-8:30 pace for the marathon since I've been dealing with a little knee issue! I am more of a mid/forefoot striker. Also an considering the Saucony triumph 17? But who knows!
@@dao9131 Those are fabulous times! Well done! Seems all your shoes are on the soft side which may part of the cause of the knee issue?GlideRide might help but is not a fast race shoe per say. You should also look at shoes such as Next% and if the knee is a concern for March 21 also take a look at Salomon Sonic 3 Balance (we have reviewed) and somewhat lighter Accelerate (pairs coming soon). Balance moves along and is stable. If you could find it, sold out the NB Fuel Cell TC would be a great choice as well. @@RoadTrailRun Yep I considered the plushness may be a contributing factor to the knee issue. I think for the most part it is just from overuse since I haven't been running consistently for a long time yet. I figured the glideride might provide a bit more stability which could potentially help the knee. Thanks so much for the info!
Thoughts on this vs. the Metaride overall? What is the point of the $100 more for it given that the Glideride is lighter, has better cushioning, and "smoother"
Lighter by close to an ounce, lighter in feel on the run, 5mm vs zero, softer cushion, not quite as stiff, simpler more comfortable upper, Not quite the abrupt and kind of neat rocker but Glideride is a far better actual daily trainer,
I've had the MetaRide, and it's a hard shoe. Running is okay, but feels like you're running on hard rubber blocks. You can't feel the cushion much at all. Hopefully this is nice and cushioned!
Will be doing so in the full written review. Glideride is less mushy bouncy in feel and somewhat firmer and more responsive and is more stable, and while Clifton uppers have improved, Glide has a superior comfort upper. The ride of the Glideride is more a rolling sensation due to Guide Sole geometry
@Armando Sturzenegger sorry, but is a very far fetched analogy. A Lexus could easily be made lighter in weight. So can the shoe. Its called development and to some extent technology. I could show Asics a few tricks.
