You guys basically walked through the AXS tutorial that SRAM put out. So how do you troubleshoot after everything is setup but it's still not buttery smooth?
One of the best vid I have seen, granted, I’ve collected many others spoken jargon so I was able to connect the dots. Overall, thank you for the tips. Especially accessing the micro adjustments button execution.
I was stuck on a very rocky technical spot yesterday. I just had a new chain and cassette installed by a shop but it was skipping and having trouble staying in gear. I found I was able to hold the button under shifter, then press up or down 1x or 2x on shifter until I got it working smoothly. I don't know what I'm doing, so this video helps me now that I'm in my garage and able to work on it.
I wish you would have shown you adjusting the B screen as well as you showed everything else. That's why I was here. Maybe a separate video on just that? Everything else was great thumbs up.
What if it jumps out of the middle gears or doesn’t shift great into a middle gear especially under load? Low and High gears are fine. But if in certain middle gears and I load it up on a climb it’ll pop out of gear. Like mid indexing is off
I had to read between the video on B-screw adjustment. You did put the derailleur and chain back on of course, but failed to mention that on the video. This definitely NOT a step-by-step video for inexperienced folks, but luckily I've done it on a wired derailleur.
When using the hanger tool shouldn’t you always rotate the wheel to the same spot as slider so it’s a constant distance, as there may be buckles that will give different measurements
Actual Clutch Adjustment. I need to know if it's possible to even 'turn it on'. Everyone keeps covering the basics that the SRAM manual and service bulletins cover. I want to know how to stop chain-drop and wild slapping about on rowdy descents. Shifting is great. Everything else is great. When you swing the cage fwd, there's nothing slowing/stopping it... and in comparison with the XTR (Shimano) for example, the clutch is either 'on' or it's 'off'. When off, it feels like the XO AXS does always. When it's on, there's zero chain noise etc. There's no way to do this that's discernable with the new AXS XO R.Mech. Am I missing something? For a $1k shift-set, I expect more than a return to early 2000's pre-clutch-performance. Feedback plz. !
It's possible your clutch may be broken. It could be worth seeing if that's the case and if so if it's covered under warranty still. I'd suggest swinging by your local bike shop and see if they can help you get your clutch working properly.
My XX1 derailleur is nog touching the smallest limit screw in de the lowest gear (also not shifting to the lowest gear). Any advice on how to fix this?
when using the hanger tool, I've always used consistent spot on rim to reference. And then rotated the wheel with each measurement. Is this not required?
I need some help, everything is properly adjusted but the shifting is totally poop. It'll either shift in high gears or the low gears, but not both regardless of what I do. Everything is in perfect condition, straight, properly adjusted. - I'm no amateur. She just won't shift properly. Gnutella tips? I've already tried updating, re-pairing etc
i maxed out the micro adjust so from 6th gear to 12th gear is messed up - if i fix 6-12th gear the derailleur won't shift to 1st gear (50t) and will stop at 2nd gear (42t) - OH what a pain :( its my 3rd derailleur hanger. the old derailleur hanger works flawless on my nx setup
What happens when you run out of micro adjustment and the mech still won't go far enough to get in to gear 12? Mine won't get in to 12 becsue it appears to be too far out of the range of mech. The standard GX mech that came off made 12th gear easy and had to have the stop screw adjusted to stop it going too far.
Hmmmm I would double check that your hanger isn't bent . Also make sure you derailleur is tight. If both those are good and your B-tension is set correctly this might be one worth taking into the shop.
@@artscyclery875 thanks for the reply. Everything is post on. The mech hanger is just too far from gear 1, for the mech to reach. I've used the increment settings to adjust it as far as possible but it just needs to go the tiniest but more, however it's at it's limit. There must be some frames it's not compatible with.
I can't get mine into the 42 tooth cog. Mine feels like it's off by 2 whole gears. How to a reset my starting position? When I'm in the smallest cog I need to shift twice before it moves.
@@dieterleonard2309 yeah, my frame was made for a Shimano direct mount derailleur. I thought I just needed a hanger for a standard derailleur, so I ordered and installed one, but the derailleur would rub the inside of the frame. I ultimately needed to purchase an adapter that enables shorter derailleur to work with bigger cogs, but then I had to swing that about 30° back so it would clear the frame. I ended up alumawelding it in place. It now works perfect, but I would like to get a machine shop to make me a derailleur hanger that incorporates the mods I made. Not ideal, but the frame was designed around a different system and I was determined to make it work since I love the frame. Most people would've just gotten a new frame...
the micro adjust feature on the controller will adjust the derailleur in all cogs. The 2nd cog is the recommended cog to be to set the baseline with the micro adjuster.
