Thank you so much for this mini-expository on 'foot spams'; Charlie visits me literally everyday, in pretty much every muscle group on my body, so your presentation was of keen interest to me! I have been doing my own Ingrown Nail removal since I was 15, doctor's visits being a luxury one simply does not do for a simple nail problem (though I did ONCE go to a GP after one 'self surgery' did not heal up properly and was infected (painfully) enough so that I could not go back in myself and correct the problem (I didn't get all the 'soft tissue' out). I found the level of pain from the GP to be far worse than when I did my own surgeries. I learned to be fanatically fastidious on cleaning all my 'tools' for Ingrown Removal, so have NEVER had anywhere near an infection level to that degree again (I'm 67 now). I'm waiting on the weather to cool down (been in the 90's and because of my severely ill health, have become VERY 'heat intolerant'), so I can go sit on the front porch and do my surgery again (two days hence), because the geometry of the porch steps allows me to actually bend over enough to properly cut the toenails, and NOT incite massive Charlies in my ribcage, shoulders, neck, legs, and stomach (yes, each group can and will 'hit me' if I'm not exceedingly careful with the angle), and the 3 herniations in my lumbar and 3 compressions in my neck do not cause me too much pain, allowing me to do the surgery (I also have at least one, possibly two undiagnosed vertebrae problems in my Thorasic-can't afford the CAT/MRI or Specialist pricing, on Medicaid and fixed funds). Yes, I've got Malignant CHF as well, Class 3 and all the attendant respiratory problems thereto pertaining. Anywho, thank you again for your superb informational: every bit of positive and reliable knowledge really helps! Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY
I just experienced this painful sort of spasm last night. Thank You for addressing the issue and problem solving instructions. You were right on time🙏🏽
Thanks again for another educational video! I appreciate your medical advice VERY much Dr. J! I sometimes have feet spasms and they are very painful. The methods you stated to alleviate the pain are very much on point as I do utilize them. Thanks again for looking out for us ❤!
I get spasms in my great toes. This occurs on a daily basis. Yes they do hurt a lot. I have learned some things tonight that I wasn't aware of. Thank you for the information Dr. Jefferson. 🙂
Great information Dr. I have very high arches on both feet and it causes pain especially on my heel and the balls of my feet. Not only that but the callouses on those parts get thick and the ones on the balls look like scales in a way. But wearing the right shoes and extra padding doesn't help as much as I hoped. I'm 58 and I have behcet's disease also
Oh I was definitely dehydrated!!!!!!!!! And the toe box on my shoes are too small. Def have lower back problems. I took magnesium and soaked then elevated
Last week I noticed a sensation in my big toes that felt like they were being pulled upward. Imagine a string tied to your toe and pull it toward you. Crazy! Never felt that before. Still feels same everyday.🤷🏼♀️
I sprained my ankle (rolled it) 3 weeks ago. First 2 weeks I wrapped in an ace bandage and ice ice ice. Hurts even worse now. Not broken. How long will this pain last?still walking with a limp
I have flat feet. Sometimes when sitting after a long day at work on my feet, the middle of my foot on the inside facing part cramps op and it freaks me out. I have to stand up and walk to make it stop. Please can you tell me why this happens? Thankyou
Lately, I've been having spasms (charlie horses) in my feet and thighs. It abruptly wakes me up 2-3 in the morning. So I'm forced to get up and walk it off, then try to get back to sleep. I thought it could be the coldness of the air conditioner. I was wrong because even in heat I get them too. I also have a history of gout. I was prescribed Allopurinol for that. I don't want to be put on any more pills/creams. I'm looking for more Holistic ways of dealing with this... 😶
That's very interesting to me that you have numbness in the toes next to your great toe. It could be from new changes from your prior injury. Thanks for sharing.
I have had peripheral neuropathy for years. I am on canes or a walker. I am not diabetic. My worst pain is in my feet. My toes feel ingrown toenails the bottom of my feet hurt, the bottom of my toes hurt and I feel like I have socks on. These pains aren’t all at once but something everyday. I wear good shoes but I have to wear tennis shoes very light weight shoes. They are so very expensive but worth it. I don’t have good balance, I drop things often. I have nerve pain but it feels worse on my feet. I am going to a new neurologist next week.
