The dress is actually essential for warlocks we don't have a double jump, we just use the dress as a parachute which is why when we're already falling, we can't go back up, we can only slow down
Thanks Lord Shaxx. Especially since I lost my Arc Soul in a round of Control. I think one of the other team's titans mistook it for his pacifier. Oh those titans. They'll stick anything in their mouths if you don't keep a close eye on them.
You get so much more of a power fantasy from warlock by being able to run up with constant healing and cooldowns; the builds really kept me from my original start as a hunter
My reason for being a warlock main is that I feel like Warlocks take the phrase “knowledge is power” to the fullest. Like in the lore they understand the Light and the Darkness, and continue to search for further knowledge. I value knowledge. Irl, I often find myself just reading books about the universe and how it functions whenever I’m bored. It may sound nerdy, but it’s what I enjoy. Just the power fantasy of basically ‘holding the universe’ in your hand as a void Warlock just really appealed to me. And also because I like explosions. Very good.
See they work like this Titan is the muscle they can break an enemy with strength and will usually go head first into a fight just running and gunning but are also kind and caring they don’t seek to harm but to protect like if the one of their fire team members are hurt they are the first to them even if 50 enemies are in between them Hunter in the scout/ sniper they are always on the lookout for enemies or scouting spots and will disappear to only reappear later with a campaign spot for the night or to let their fire team know of enemies nerdy or to take out a sniper close by and why they are on their own and prefer it is because they know what it’s like to loose someone so that’s why they are alone most of the time but will be their in what ever way they can Warlock is a diplomatic and a tech guy they are always looking for answers to questions or ways to gain allies instead of starting fights and will know how to help with tech or to heal a cut or gunshot and are full of wisdom and are always out to find answers I may be wrong and if I am please let me know
I've been playing Warlock since D1, so I just stuck with them. They were completely busted in D1, especially their stupid ass melee range. They were also amazing for parkour considering there wasn't any ledge climbing in D1 either. They're also still broken in D2. Solar 3.0 looks fun as hell, and I can't wait for Stormbringer after Arc 3.0
I'm a warlock main because I feel the class best suits the supportive fireteam member role. I like the IDEA of titans being the wall that stands before the darkness, but I find the best way to play Titan is to be very aggressive and that just doesn't suit my playstyle. I used to be a hunter main in D1, so I guess I got tired of that playstyle and also SO many people play Hunter. As I've grown up though, I kinda fell out of that egdelord, anime profile pic, Hunter persona and more into the team support role. That being said, Warlocks are no pushover. Warlocks are great at survivability and take advantage of knowing their builds to be a major force of destruction on the battlefield
I remember when I first planned on playing Destiny 2 with a friend. I told a (different) friend at school about it and he got all excited and told me how much fun he had in D1 and he played Warlock there. So when I started playing I didn't even hesitate with choosing Warlock. And then I played through Red War, CoO, Warmind and Forsaken within a month or two with the first friend. All on Warlock. And then I stuck with Warlock and I never regretted my decision. And I just love how incredibly balanced the Warlock's gameplay is. Warlocks have offense, defense, decent mobility, good resilience and their manipulation of their ressources is just so much fun. Even me, who hasn't really switched off Transversive Steps ever since they first dropped for me when I played Red War, get to have so much fun with the way the Warlock can use their light/darkness. Also, what might be one of the main reasons why I play Warlock, their jumps are just so accurate and balanced. No short but intense boosts, but instead precise in-air steering and a long time you can stay in the air
The moment I discovered the well of radiance back in forsaken I fell in love with warlock, the ability to be the support is very appealing to me (Also I'm sad I didn't get into the video because I was at my relatives)
was a titan main because I like playing slow and doing "zone defender" roles as I'm more fit in holding tight spots in combat scenarios (airsoft, dnd, mmos, mon-hun, etc.) and support/heal my guys around me. When I played warlock, it felt more of a "The Doctor is IN" rather than my Titan's "Hold the Wall" because I can heal/support people around me and myself while tanking the ever loving ham out of every pain and punishment that comes my way.
Ive been playing since house of wolves and I switched from hunter to warlock in Taken King and never looked back. It was all about self sufficiency for me. Warlocks could res themselves, they had nova bomb for dps, and they had crowd control on storm trance. In later parts of taken and earlier parts of d2 in definitely felt like titans but mostly hunters clearly had the bias of the devs. Warlocks were pushed more and more toward playing support and less toward being an eldritch beast that can cast world ending spells. Hunters had more ability spam and more utility and at times it feels like all we have is shitty rift exotics, a confused dev team, and a misplaced power fantasy that could mean literally anything *but with space magic* . I want my d1 *battle robes* back not a corset with shoulder pads. I want amulets not bonds. I want necromancy and telekinses not more wells and rifts.
Was a hunter from my start during taken king, embraced voidwalker by age of triumph then switched to dawnblade when it got icarus dash and am now a well of radiance main
As a "True Light Warlock" the Solar light of the Praxic Fire is my reason for my choice, the Song of flame is so beautiful the architects made us forget its power. I used to be a fire borne but since Ghaul severed our connection I no longer feel the fire burning in me as it used to. However I feel for my hunter and titans as they don't fare so well anymore after the Red War, so I bless them with the divine Praxic Fire. No I am not tempted by the powers of the Deep, as Arc is corrupted light, Void is the darkest form of light, and the unnamables are false powers. As The True Light is all there is, I will never align myself with those not so pure powers, for if I do my Nezarec himself take me. May the Light guide you all to a brighter future and a better tomorrow.
In my youth, I was a Titan. I wanted to be my team's shield, their bulwark. But as I got older, banging knuckles grew harder and harder. That's when I learned there was another way I could help. It was quite the trial, but under Ikora's tutelage, I learned the ways of the warlock. I learned how to protect my team not by being on the front lines but by becoming their spine, their support, and their lifeline. To my surprise, the warlock's ways were not so different from their Titan brethren. A Well was a bubble you could shoot out of. A rift was a shield because it constantly healed you. And I sometimes can still feel my old garrison whenever I Ick dash. Some things have changed though. I can't melee like I used to of course, But sometimes I'm still overcome with the urge to take a "Hands on" approach. And for the most part, I still enjoy the feeling of a sword's hilt in my grip. I guess some habits die hard.
Most versatile and can fill damn near any roll that's needed. Also I like the robes. Make like a cowboy or a feminine character work well with their fashion. Main war lock rinse d1
I've always liked warlock cause for one I enjoy the play style and the thought of being this incredibly wisdom filled librarian that once he puts down his book he replaces it with what I can only imagine as disaster incarnate. Other classes use and form light as a tool, warlocks are a simple conduit of the raw power and instability of light. Btw d1 solar res was dope.
I love Warlock because of the power fantasy/space magic and because it just felt right. I initially started Hunter and until Beyond Light, I would switch back and forth regularly between Hunter and Warlock, not knowing/saying which one I would consider my main. However, whenever I went back to Warlock, it felt like coming home. After Beyond Light, when I considered grinding Stasis stuff for my Hunter I was fully in on Warlock as my main. It always was who I really was in Destiny, I just didn’t know for sure until then
i used to play titan all the time because i loved being a punching powerhouse, but warlock's ability animations are just so cool. being able to snap your fingers and have 5 fireballs pop out and track targets is sweet as hell, being able to course 1 million volts of lightning through both your hands into an opponent was just sick. not to mention the exotics are fun as hell, and its always fun to just kill adds with sunbracers
I started Hunter on D1Y1 and crutched on Blink+Shotty a lot. I started again on D2 and learned that only Warlocks have Blink. Created a lock, never looked back. I love creating black holes :)
I always liked the mage character in video games usually it either means keeping the team alive or dealing ranged damage but it always appealed to me and ironically I never had an interest in the lore which I heard is big for warlocks but after taking a bit of time to actually watch cutscenes and listen to the characters it really interested me in the lore, I really like the hive taken and ahamkara lore
When I picked up D1 in 2014 and the character screen popped up. I wanted to pick Titan first bc they reminded me of Spartans from Halo but when I read the description for Warlocks I knew I wanted to main that class, and for almost 8 years I've been mostly a warlock main.
I play warlock because I play mostly support, but also because I love the feel of the wizard robes. Also, a warlock's robes look like you can hide so much stuff in the robes and no one would know.
I started destiny 1 day 1 as a titan for a couple weeks and then I switched to hunter. I really liked d1 hunter especially for the blade dancer for the constant invisibility, until I hit house of wolves dlc. I was warlock since then mainly due to the self-res. However, when destiny 2 came out I stuck with warlock and I’ve now really solidified myself in the class. Especially after void 3.0 I can’t stop using the void subclass and feeling unstoppable with devour. I used well of radiance a lot until solar 3.0 but now I’m strictly void and ended up actually making a background story for my warlock after so long. I love the utility and ability to keep others alive while decimating enemies with my vortex grenade/nova bomb and osteo strega.
I've been a warlock Main ever since I started destiny I love their lore and their gameplay I tried playing with the Titan and hunter to see why people like playing them and yeah I can see why people love playing them but warlocks just suit me best. And also in my group I'm the only person like pays close attention to like the Lore and story so my hunter or Titan friend sometimes go up to me or we be playing and he asked me a question about the lore and I just answered it's always satisfying for some reason
I started as a Hunter main, and only shifted into a Warlock main before Beyond Light. I really liked the movement tech I got to learn and leaning hard into support and self sustain.
started w/ warlock in House of Wolves because of the space magic (I multispec bard and warlock in dnd lol) being actually immortal on sunsinger is the reason I stayed though warlock abilities are the reason I've played this long
Are you a Warlock having trouble using grenades? Do you feel that your grenades just don’t come back as quick as they used to? This Solar 3.0 build will help you with that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AfDf2B7Xa9Y.html
So I actually named myself ATeleportingGrape because of my friends calling me that due to me being an Astrocyte Blink user in crucible and so they started to call me that. Warlock blink = funny teleport
When I started playing back in d1, I played hunter. And I played hunter so much that I even got the new monarchy exotic cloak for him. But then I got bord and discovered selfres and the idea of being an imortal archangel of the sky really got to me, and I've literally been playing warlock ever since I can't even go back to hunter.
For me I love being a mage, being supportive of the team with rifts/well/stasis turrets, having lots of build options, and movement - it's one of my favorite parts of d2 and miss me with ever not running icarus dash
I started off playing hunter. My old fire team basically was our version of the vanguard. When we had IRL problems and broke away from each other. I messed with the other classes and fell in love with the warlock.... Doesn't help that it looks like exotics drop more for me when I'm on warlock
I became a warlock main because that was the only character my brother didn't make yet in the good old days of Destiny 1, also stormcaller makes me feel like emperor palpatine.
Back in D1, I was always the guy in my fireteam of 3 to come in clutch during nightfalls all because of coming back from the dead. I haven’t changed classes ever since.
Back in 2015 I main warlock because "ohhhh pretty space magic" until I just forgot about the game for a few years but when I pick up destiny again and logged back in as my old warlock I fall back in love with the pretty space magic, the power fantasy, and these absolutely beautiful trench coats. And now take all my glimmer, I want my poor lost arc soul back and other warlocks to theirs back to. ...... And also the fact I can just sit in my well and be almost untouchable for a good while meanwhile the boss is just shooting at me non-stop
When I first started destiny. Warlocks seemed like the middle or all rounder class. Titans seemed to specialize as a tank and hunters as a fast and mobile class. And anytime I start a new game I prefer to be an all rounder so I can find what playstyle I prefer. And now I'm a warlock main lol
I amain Warlock because it feels like the More knowledge I rather the more power I earn, and being a nerd irl I think I just value knowledge very much. Thinking to myself that thanks to the investigation and findings about the paracausal elements we can manipulate light and dark in a puré state with out needing objects such as hammers, knifes or shields. Just you bending the laws of the universe to your favor. Also being capable of doing some unique things like icarus dash or the traces of Arc light that come for you, healing granades, consuming/charging the granades, creating sentient turrets and orbs that help you in combat. PD: I know we have the dawnblade, shadebinder and well wich have the blade and staff but the rest of supers dont have the need of anything, even in destiny 1 the sunsingers didnt have a tool or weapon to make a conection to the light.
I always loved mages in rpgs however my journey as a warlock actually started as a titan, just the exhilarating joy of being the powerhouse of the group was what i was looking for in destiny, however once warlocks learned force lightning in taken king I just had to join in and I’ve become more and more of a warlock every day since and I’ve never been happier. Let’s save those arc souls yeah?
Warlocks make me feel powerful and tactical being able to throw black holes and shoot laserbeams while standing in a rift that makes me almost invincible is just badass to me
iirc I am a warlock because in D1 when you selected a class it showed things Voidwalker could do, among which was Blink. I thought being able to teleport was cool, so I chose that
I'm a warlock main because I love the warlock's exotics like sunbracers and gateway artist! Warlock gives me the power fantasy of being a unlimited power guy
I've been playing Warlock since Taken King, and it's fun to be a floofing emissary of death. Unfortunately Solar has soured due to 3.0. Not to mention, being a space wizard is already pretty cool in of itself. I mean, who doesn't want to throw purple balls of death, or the ability to become Palpatine.
For me, my favorite game of all time was dishonored 1. When I learned that Destiny 1 had Blink for Hunters (didn’t know Warlocks had it on void) I picked Hunter. Going into D2, only Warlocks had it. Been playing Warlock ever since. And because Verse is the best pick for a blink user, there’s no going back
My reasons simple, when I first started playing my brothers said warlocks were tougher to master and I've always loved a challenge so I decided to do warlock. What's great is that I'm one of the few players who genuinely understands how the warlock jump works, so much so that I was actually able to TEACH a non-warlock how to get through a jumping puzzle as a warlock! Plus I just love blink :3
I initially picked warlock because I liked the thought of being a mage, (and the thought of a longer range melee WITCH THEY TOOK AWAY!) and along the way I've gotten so used to warlock hover that other classes seemed way less mobile.
As a kid, i was always fascinated by Magic and being a spell caster of some sort. Any game I played i was a wizard, Sorcerer, or Mage. From Gauntlet to D&D and so on. For Destiny it was just natural. And might I add, we get shit on constantly, maybe not from the community, but by the devs with their constant nerfs and tweaks to us, even tho we were never even op. Hell I still have PTSD from the One-Eyed Mask Titans and Infinite Spectral Blades Hunters.😂
I swapped to warlock after maining hunter for a long time in shadowkeep after seeing worldline skating in a leviathan speedrun and just the movement tech people would do and I've just stuck on warlock ever since, I love eager edge, well skating, all things moving fast that involve warlocks. I've tried other classes and titans are pretty fun but nothing beats warlock for me. I also think the warlock dresses are cute so I don't know why people say it as an insult.
I’ve been a Warlock since Day 1 of my Destiny Journey. With that being said, reasoning behind choosing is that I wanted to be a “healer” for my fireteam. I also have been a mage/wizard in other games I play so this seemed like the best fit for me. I have tried Titan and Hunter as well, but never was able to comprehend the play styles as I did when I first chose Warlock. Plus, having the title of Chronicler, I am obsessed with the Lore behind Destiny, and do I want to be a chronicler as a rogue ninja cowboy, or a window licker poonch everything guardian? Absolutely not. Warlock = Best. Class. Period.
I love how the warlocks are the most awkward players of all time like titan and hunter was funny and they seemed lively but the warlocks are just awkward and cringe
IDK I play warlock cause I play the support class in most games I play. I'll usually try all of them, but I gravitate towards support. Being able to heal yourself is a great bonus. EDIT: I also don't like, despise playing classes solely devoted to healing. I love to have them on my team, but I hate playing them I like support classes that can also fight.
Personally I play Warlock because I have a thing for plain mystical characters especially when you read the law about the Warlocks which feels like you’re running down a rabbit hole that really makes you scratch your head and overthink things on a very very deep level plus idea of becoming a med genius kind of appeals to me plus the void sub class feels a bit nostalgic from when i played the Mass Effect trilogy. Admitibly i misinterpreted the Warlock to be a class that would be similar to Neo from the matrix years ago back in year one destiny. I still Play warlock in hopes one day we get a necromancers subclass.
