Yep I was one of those that traded a wolf for the "cooler" armored wolves they offered us lol. Got the brewfest and a few others, was there for scarab lord it was sweet watching a guild leader get it. Glad classic is back
No. Though, the rarity and challenge of certain items was a massive part of the reward and excitement of the game. Nowadays, loot is all the same. With slightly better stat versions of it based on what difficulty of the same instance you do and if you get lucky casino style enhancements like “titanforged”.... all for the same gear. All epics. Hanged out like candy. The ‘rarity’ of purples is gone. White items are just as much trash as grey items and the green uncommon gear at the end of any expansions story. No added difficulty required.

I'm Enjoying Your Videos. I haven't Played W.o.W Since Cata. To add to the rarity of the Brewfest Mounts there was a very rare chance that you could get opposite faction mounts. My Human pally has a Brewfest Kodo. At the time Epic mounts were a big deal and I wanted a Kodo. I was bummed to find out I couldn't get one in the Alliance. About that time Brewfest was going on and after just three playthroughs I got the mount I always wanted. Later I found out it wasn't suppose to be and it had a .01% drop chance. Over the Years I still think about Gregg The Kodo and have really thought about getting back in just to ride with my Kodo again.
Pretty sure back in vanilla I saw someone with the bangle tiger mount, it was purely in passing, all i did was witness it and thought wow thats a pretty unique looking mount and went along with my day being a scrub.
HA I have a mount that Asmongold doesn't! I feel special since I haven't played in like 7 years lol. I have the Crusader's White Warhorse from the Tribute to Immortality 25 man achievement in Trial of the Grand Crusader. Such a fun achievement to do! RIP Keepers of the Faith (Hellscream)!
I had the 10 man. Best we ever managed in 25H was 46 attempts remaining. Too many tunnel visioning casters for the PVP fight - we ALWAYS wiped at least twice. Which is insane given that we rarely wiped on Anub'Arak 25H after our first two kills.

The choppers annoy me. I bought the alliance one and much later I transfered to Horde and now I've lost that mount because you don't get the deathwheel if you switch faction. Which is a bit strange since every other mount gets swapped to the other faction's equivalent.
Lol, if they switched that to the unobtainable mount from the Hordes side, the people who got it when it was available would feel fucked in the ass. Of course they aren't gonna do that, people would abuse the hell out of it.

I got the TOGC wolf mount back in Wrath. It dropped the month before Blizzard announced they were taking it out of the game. When it dropped we all rolled for it. Another guy beat me by 1 point. I whispered to him "hey you wanna sell that mount?" He said uhm how much? At the time I had never bought a mount before but back then 8k gold was still a whole bunch of gold. So I said uh 8k ok? Boom mount was mine! He said he would just get it again when it dropped the next time. But like I said: Blizzard stopped it from dropping lol. I was riding it around with my HORDE symbol emblazoned on its hind quarters and just chilling. And this guy whispers me like a few months after they had killed it off and said " Dude I wish to god I had never sold you that mount!" Now I don't have that 8k anymore and I don't have the mount. Well its 2018 and I turned my account off with my last mount count at 406 mounts total. That mount led me to start farming mounts because I didn't want to miss out on more mounts like I could have with the TOGC mount.
I had a guildmate who got the Brewfest Kodo from the season boss you battle in the Grim Guzzler during the Brewfest event, so I'm not sure why MadSeason said it was never implemented. I got the Ram from turn-in rewards that I ended up deleting because I needed more space (plus I wasn't that fond of the ram). I guess I shoulda kept it because it was the blue one that's no longer attainable. Doh!
I remember in the early days of wow being a lowbie maybe level 16 and stumbling across a 60 human warrior in T1 with that mount and the old Obsidian edged blade in Redridge mountains were the blackrock orcs are . That moment of seeing something so epic for the first time in game back then stays with you for a long time. He was nice enough to help me finish the qeust as i had no idea wtf i was doing. Wait the blue brewfest ram is rare? I need to get into my old account I had back in 07 I worked so friggen hard to get that mount and the swift one. Literally used those until I got basic bitch flying from outlands before they changed all that.
i never got the fucking spectral gryphon even tough i resurected my old account with what was my new account ( after months of strugle i managed to get my old account password recoverd and could play again) but after i did the scroll and bought game time i never recived the mount on any of the 2 accounts :(
coming from someone who has been playing WoW since burning Crusade I think it would be a rather bad idea for the level squish because then it would come across to those who have been playing for such a long period of time that would make them feel as if there hard earned work and effort has gone to waste for absolutely no reason, Instead of having Levelling caps maybe have a system that has your professions, Reputation factions to be the newish form of levelling to an extent so people can strive to achieve certain perks for there work such as gear or even a bundle of resources for the professions you have and possibly even put in the old system where hitting enemies gives you weapon experience and such, also possibly have it as a type of system for each Species having set gear types for that species like blood elf gear for blood elf give them the colour coating and specified looks same for orcs, humans, trolls, and all the others but the gear is not just set to being a specific stat level could get a boost like every 5000 reputation for the faction or more type of thing. I also reckon that it would be a nice idea for tensions to be stretched between all races within both Horde and Alliance so each species works within there own to improve or diminish current relations to cause mini wars and be able to have small enclaves of Garrisons that you lead to fight against others or even just NPC based characters and possibly try bring in a trade system such as caravans players need to defend if under assault then escort those caravans to your own personal garrison that you have to take care of daily to keep those who serve the players characters live on in there own experience. would it be possible to get a third faction besides Alliance and Horde because the game is starting to get bland with the generic system of fighting as Horde or Alliance possibly give people the option to have a third or fourth faction to cause mayhem and Anarchy in the mix to make it more interesting I believe millions of more people would play the game a lot more if we had the diversity to do as we wish to make it more entertaining...Thanks for the game Battle net it has been awesome but some things have been lacking in the game and also missing sorry for the honesty and thank you for the game.Read more Show less
17:55 proof this guy didn't play the game back before MoP. He said they bumped it up to heroic difficulty so it was a little more difficult to obtain than the garrosh one. This is so false. In terms of difficulty it was the same. In the old days or 10man amd 25 man the difficulties went. Raid finder, flex, normal and heroic. At the end of mop they changed the names of thr difficulties by removing flex and adding mythic above heroic. But they moved all the names down. So normal back then was the same as heroic today thus making it no harder to get and still requiring curve. Gawd.
I did the 10th anniversary LFR raid and the first run everyone was dumb the second run I had a stroke of good luck and we shit on it and then I just ran around on the molten hound.
I have the spectral wind runner/gryphon. Kinda got lucky with a friend accepting the scroll of rez when it was out.. It's nice to flash around when people show me Horseman's Reins or Invincible xD.
Normal in MoP is today's Heroic. It was LFR, Flex, Normal and Heroic, but they changed it to LFR, Normal, Heroic, Mythic. Also, Grove warden was infinitely easier to get because they let people do the raid and get it even after the stat squish, which made heroic trivial.
I remember tbc with my dwarf hunter full t6/bow from Illidan all bis on top of zul aman bear..i was literally legend in Iron forge people would stop to inspect me.
