Love Madseason, but he should have resarched this a bit more and refrenced the Oldschol Runescape system they implemented. The game was dying after 6 months after release becasue of no changes, then they implented a polling system where 75% of players had to vote yes for new content to pass that was exclusive and unique to OSRS. This is the direction Classic + should go and would be phenomenal for the game.
100% agree bud, i think seeing some of the cut content be finished and implemented would greatly benefit the game's longevity as well as maybe unique new stuff with the OSRS system
@@jslaughter95 Thats the cool stuff about OSRS, they added in stuff that they never finished and were able to make entire questlines or areas out of it. Itd be cool as hell to have an actual emerald dream area in classic with new quests and maybe even a raid.
I say do classic+ publicly open test servers when the time comes, adding in areas and dungeons etc that were originally planned but didn't have time or budget for back in the day, and see how it does. Give the originally planned content that didn't make it a second chance in vanilla classic+
This is something I bring up constantly. They can rerelease content after vanilla as just hand pick what they add. Thats what old school runescape did. They redesigned the content to be balanced with the old gear to ensure everything still had its place in the game. All the content still matters.
People are worried about fragmenting population if BC and Wrath were to be added, but even then those servers would still have at least x20 more people than private servers.
Not only that but people who didn’t like classic but liked BC which is many pvpers, world pvp is classic isn’t great at all, it’s just in silithus mainly, and many others just doing raids or sitting in ogrimmar/SW, TBC has outlands pvp frequent crossroads attacks bloodhoofvillage attacks westfall FOR THE HORDE/FOR THE ALLIANCE earn gear with honor and arena instead of ranks many people will be lvling new alts and belfs/draenie, so Azeroth lvling zones will still be alive etc, it’s just a much better upgraded game tbh
Martin Blom they should release all expansion. But keep it classic. No lfg lfr fast lvling. Easy loot. Mission tables ect. And more content in the expansion with the content Droughts
The real issue here is Blizzard need to know and define what World of Warcraft is. In Vanilla WoW they had a clear goal of what they wanted to do and they achieved it, which resulted in a very good quality game. In BFA they are having major identity issues resulting in lackluster content and overall poorer quality. WoW is not an action or a reaction based game, it is in what it's genre defines it as - Massive Multiplayer Online ROLE PLAYING GAME. If they understood this and had their goal as one to deliver an EXPERIENCE (which is what classic was) then they could easily create new content but the vision has to be in place. PvP, raiding, dungeons, grinding and quests are all based off of an EXPERIENCE in classic, and that it's identity, not those concepts in itself, which is important because retail doesn't understand this. Tldr; If you they have a goal of creating an experience over how many action buttons you can press and how little the global cooldown is then they can move forward confidently.
A large part of the playerbase will always state that games are "dead" whenever they're not seeing hype everywhere on youtube and twitch or getting spammed in game. It's getting more and more ridiculous as they start to come up with arguments and persist to state that games with thousands daily players are dead. Hopefully those jackasses get bored of gaming soon after hopping from one game to another and spreading misinformation everywhere.
They can always add the content that never got to be finished in classic as a minor patch then release bc. Its a win win, we get to see unfinished work and explore new content without hurting “the classic” experience as we move forward to bc

Point of Role Playing Game is not about 'balance' it is about playing a role and living with consequences. Wow went downhill from TBC, destroyed RP elements and Warcraft lore
Classic +, then 5 months later, close classic and release tbc, then 6 months later, release tbc +, rinse and repeat for wrath. That's over 2 years of extremely high subscription rates and plenty of money to put towards retail expansions.
@@yungthug2403 6 months is plenty of time. The old expansions being released aren't meant to be years worth of play time. Everyone already knows the attunements etc and the content would be crushed by most people in that time frame. As for more money to go towards retail expansions, I think it would help blizzard focus more on good content and less on microtransactions. Just my opinion.
@@lynchpintm8928 retail dont need more money, it needs simple changes in my opinion, the reward systems shouldnt be this complicated thing, it puts off new players, TBC had a great system, I don't mind new difficulties etc, but there was a time when pve and pvp were seperated and gave equal rewards that made you feel good, now it's more pve, even to progress in pvp you still need to do pve, pvp players are fine without doing pve content, if we want to raid/mythic we will, no need to add shit like torghast for us to farm soulash and get legendaries, some don't mind, some do, but if we had the option to get legendaries from a pvp event, most pvpers would do it like that so why not give them that option? Who's it hurting?, I don't understand why retail needs more money to make the game better, I think there's a lot of content in shadowlands, maybe that's coz of classic, but making TBC 6 months and then rinse isn't gonna fly with most people, most people who really enjoy that xpac will look at that and think im not gonna bother with that if it's just 6 months, I wont get anywhere i'm working, it's not 2007 anymore, why make it so short when it's gonna have more success being the length of classic lol, you could argue you could make it longer. Too much content isnt always a good thing, it's the quality of it. I've played shadowlands, and i do enjoy it more than Legion and BFA but that's coz i'm pvp, and they brought back simple thigns like vendors, I don't think that cost too much money to do that. Personally i'd rather them get rid of the anima/conduits/renown stuff or keep them and make the rewards have no impact on pvp, like great mounts, mogs etc when i inspect players gear i see an almost equal ammount of players with pvp gear as to pve, that just tells me they need to work on pvp more as people really enjoy it, they should bring vote poles into the game, where players can vote on like certain battleground ideas etc for new battlegrounds, or even world pvp events like wintergrasp where if your faction wins for the week you get vendors, access to a raid etc. that was an amazing idea from WOTLK I mean I never do pvp but i participated in the raid in WOTLK, so yeah, bottom line is, I think they should make poles, listen to players, and bring up ideas to us before they do it without even knowing if we actually want it or not
First off I want to say I liked how they did Northrend in Wrath, but the best iteration of how it should feel was done in the Death Knight mount class campaign in Legion, where Northrend resembled a more icy dunes with blizzards type of terrain. I say we bring it back how we all remember it from The Frozen Throne. In order to enter Northrend as the new endgame zone, you have to clear Naxxramas and kill Kel'thuzad. Thereafter, you must farm materials inside Naxxramas to build a ship as a guild. This is the new secondary profession and lets you travel continents as a guild by your own ships. Once you sail to Northrend as a guild, hypothermia sets in and you begin freezing to death. This means that every week you only get to go to Northrend for 4-6 hours and experience the new dungeons, treasures and raids there. In order to extend this duration the dungeon and raid sets that drop there keep you warmer and extend your weekly time. This means people can't just rush into ICC and clear the raid day 1. This timer essentially acts as a "soft" enrage to keep you on your toes and make the best of your time there, because the treasures are much more lucrative. What do you think? This is just a quick idea I had to keep endgame content interesting, without utterly invalidating previous content. People will still go to EK/Kalimdor and Naxxramas remains important to reach the new continent.
i wish a classic plus with transmog, challange modes and harder mechanics in a way of diablo like when it starts in normal-heroic and then heroic 1-2-3 and so on
TBC is and was basically classic/vanilla+ so TBC and then TBC+ would make more sense in my opinion Wotlk was the beginning of the end and that’s where blizzard started messing up.. so TBC+ could be a correction to that
why not just have an xp bar that rewards talent points and new spell ranks and convert BC and Wrath raids to lvl 60? basically just add new content but keep classic the same .
As a "regular" player i want to get to max level and enjoy the game. When they release new expansions i always have to play catch up with all of the "gamers" that just power their way through to end game content and really dont interact with the general player base outside of pvp. IMO classic should release "new" content that is level 60 but more difficult. Maybe even what they did with epic 5 mans and raids.
@@DennisEldrup until the next expac and then it's catch up all over again. I had to do it every retail expac. Why cant they just create new lvl 60 content. There are so many areas without 5 mans let alone raids and a ton of lore they just mentioned and never did anything with.
I think TBC needs to be added, but changed, make it level 50-60 content for leveling and keep the end game at 60. With Karazhan a 10 man dungeon rather then 'raid'. Not sure where to place the other raid tiers of TBC.
Well, to continue Classic into Classic Plus with the Spirit of Vanilla in mind, you would really need developers, especially those in the positions where the decisions are made, who can and do understand this spirit. I mean, do people really think the developers of BfA understand the Spirit of Vanilla at all? Or would be able to come up with an expansion like Classic, BC, Wotlk, or hell, even Cata and MoP? I very much doubt it. I think they will take the easy route first, with the least amount of work required and go with TBC and WOTLK. They only need a low amount of ressources for that, but will make a killing. And thats what Blizzard and its shareholders like. So i think for the next years, the road is pretty clear in my opinion. The decision to make Classic Plus first would surprise me.
There was that guy "RedPill Shark" who people were saying his comments were being deleted... Even though he numbered how many times they had been deleted and he had reposted it after... And yet, there were multiples of his comments on the video... Like, just scrolling through the comments you could see him saying that this comment was like the 38th repost after it had been deleted, but then also another post like "this is the 71st time reposting it after it had been deleted"... His comments weren't being deleted, he was just fooling most people rather easily... It's like how people are now thinking Blizzard is actively preventing people from deleting their Bnet accounts... It's all a bit like the Facebook posts where people get others to spread it around via copy and pasting it with the belief that this exact post would tell Facebook that you do not consent to them using your information for purposes which, in reality, you already consented to when you agreed to the agreement upon setting up your Facebook account... People don't think critically and question how legit these things are enough...
I wish they could just simply go back to when Undead used to be the main protagonist. Can't believe how underrated Undeads are knowing how they were the ones who completely destroyed an entire land of Azeroth in Wacraft: Frozen Throne
This video and the overall conversation about what to do after Classic Wow culminates into Naxxramas makes me wonder if I should even start with Classic Wow at all. My brother and I never saw Nax and would love to clear it out and also return to PvP as it was in Classic. If Classic moves forward into TBC at the expected speed, then we will once again not have the opportunity to finish all the content, simply because we've got lives that won't allow us to do more than casual, possibly increase our commitment to do Nax. However, we're intending to start leveling in a month and it will take us about 6 months to get to 60 (10 hours a week). If Classic moves at the rate expected, then TBC will come out before we can get through the content. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of enabling people who have lives and families and jobs to revisit the game? It would be a shame if Classic turned into non-classic, especially too soon. It makes me wonder whether I should even start :(
If you use your time right it surely wont take 6months to level. My brother has two kids a normal job and building a house in his spare time aswell as playing. He is 60 already.

I think the best way they can do Classic Plus is to release an entirely new Ex Pack that can be done in the same way TBC was, but just different content
The difficulty part of Classic+ is essentially that it requires development of new content. Rolling out a TBC server wouldn't require as much personel or development money, as making completely new content.
Can anyone else see a merge between retail and classic.... like an X-men days of future past where the two merge and become one new storyline that takes place in a divergent version of the first expansion after classic. All retailer characters go back to classic+ timeline and the expansion storylines start again. I’m game for it
Just do Classic->TBC->WOTLK .. and in the meantime try and create classic+ . Since you dont really have much work to do besides putting some Phases and releasing them whenever its a good time. After WoTLK people will be super hyped about classic+ and Blizzard has MORE than enough time to create one.
tbh if they bring out tbc the team would most likely move to tbc from classic..they defo wont be doin both as that means blizz now needs 3 development teams..
They are better off making a new expansion with classic philosophy rather than classic+ it's financially and creatively a safe bet. I hope they rather go for Classic TBC and WOTLK with 3 different servers

If blizzard would just implement a system to players join smaller sub-factions, like Argent Dawn, A random troll tribe, some Forsaken organisation, or even the Scarlet Crusade itself and then make them war for controll point, like in a Spawn based Warcraft 3 map, THAT would make the game almost immortal. Yes, people can get bore of that too, but there would be something to fight for constantly. Also it would be a great improvement for the game if class talent specializations would all get a separate set with separate bonuses (even for t1) and redesign the loot tables with the 'modern' version of token based tier set loots. And some class talent spec should be reworked based on their modern uniqueness. Like Disc priest has a realy unique playstyle, but it's nowhere to be seen in classic, it's just a power infusion spammer for casters at most. I mean Power weaver is certeanly one of the most interesting thing to exist in classic as an almost allout support spec, but there are so much talent slots, that could be replaced with more talent spec specific bonuses to be more in line with their modern counterparts, like for disc priest, there could easily be a 5 point talent instead of the 5% spellpower 5% offensive crit, that gives an absorb shield equal to 25% of the total healing of the direct healing spells (ignoring heal reduction effects for the shield application) -> making priest a lot more viable PvP healer. The talent spec would still have a 'cost' of requireing deep disc, but things like this would open up a lot of interesting hybrid specs and new 'meta' specs to improve the game.
If they go down the BC route they're committed to WotLK and eventually Cataclysm presumably and they'll just make the same mistakes along the way as they did with retail. That's the only reason I'm for Classic+ and no expansions. Expansions in retail aren't really expansions anyway, just a set of borrowed power systems that wipe with every patch so I'd much rather Blizzard add to classic with new zones/raids/dungeons but keep the Classic systems.
There is literally a portal under the water off the shores of Asharza. If they don’t branch off that in a multiverse type fashion it’s a huge missed opportunity
On tbc servers copying chars across from classic would make it feel more like the original release but I feel like having everyone lvl from lvl 1 with fresh economies would be way more fun and hype just like classic was. Also then u not losing chars from wow classic the only change would be too allow blood elfs and draenai create chars without needin higher lvl chars like i think u needed bk in tbc? I dont even think classic plus is an option basically it wont be classic no more..it will be classic will a retail twist even if u had the original team work on it (which is unfeasible 15 years down road) even the same developers have prolly changed how they do things now from how they made things when they were fresh on the scene as an indie game team.
I’m all for classic plus and new content but in regards to gear naxx gear needs to stay as the best gear possible the power creep is already too steep. i’d much rather see additional content add things like odd pieces of gear for meme specs and off specs, mounts etc but if a vanilla tier 4 were to be added the gap between a lvl 60 and a naxx geared lvl 60 is already extremely large it would discourage new players coming into the game
Another thing is you can't release BC or classic + is something separate. That's BFA thinking and i'll explain why. In BFA you don't need a community cause you've got LFR, LFG arena and bg ques and so on. But in classic you NEED a community to do raiding etc etc. So releasing these separate while it doesn't have any affect on current wow cause you can always que up it does affect old classic and the experience you can have there. In summary If you're going to release Classic + or TBC you have to move the whole community there because these old school games THRIVE on community unlike retail and modern games, you can't split it because the old games aren't like the new with lfg etc
Something that will never happen, but would be cool. If they created a brand new expansion after tbc (so not wrath). Be cool to see the story of wow move in a different direction and to have that without them changing the core of classic (like not adding dungeon finder and such).

So, my curiosity (i know it will get buried) but why dont they release bc as it was, and then in WotLK they keep LFG out and continue to release content in "the spirit of classic" formula that has been kinda studied by the community which blizz would receive feed back on as classic and BC released?

@@emikochan13 After you spend enough time walking around like a peasant. It's actually pretty nice to be able to fly around. World pvp still happens regardless of flying that's not a strong point to make against it. Ide argue that players can react to ganks quicker because of flight times, meaning more people show up faster=more pvp. Flying didn't ruin WoW. It made doing dailies less of a waste of time. It made it so 90% of your day wasnt just travel in a game. If you want to spend forever walking that's on you. The vast majority don't want that. After spending the start of the last two expansions Walking around, when i actually got pathfinder it felt rewarding. It makes you free to do as you please. It makes a big world even bigger when you see the landscape beneath you. Just because Blizzard said its *More Effort* for them to design maps with flying does not mean it's bad. They have somehow conditioned loads of people to believe it's the problem. Could it be that the systems in retail are shit? the core gameplay? Flying is good.

Tbc will feel more new and fresh if it comes out because there hasn't been any rly good bc private servers so bc is the way to go after classic and doing t5 on patch 2.0 was the hardest shit ever in raiding and like no one even got kill muru and kj in sunwell
Its Obvious blizz had ideas for more content in vanilla...with a lot of raid entrances and zones we never got to see...i wouldn't mind a classic plus to see all that...it would be cool I think as long as they kept it "classic"
No. Flying in outland and shattrath actually ruined world pvp pretty much, since all 60 plus goes outland then. That was the only problem with tbc, rest is pretty fine.
Honestly if they did tbc but didnt let you keep your character at 60 on the Classic server I wouldn't go back to classic. I love it but after I'm dont leveling the 3 classes I want to level in classic I never want to level in classic again lol.
Some sort of time portals that lets you go between expansions and save youre char in each! perhaps earning some sort of reward event for clearing diffrent contents.. question is if it would be 2 similar 2 dailys and if anything other then vanilla is linked does it destroy the feeling of classic perhaps? Hands down TBC was the greatest of times in wow!

Classic+ is just completely nonrealistic so the debate is just sterile. Will Blizzard release content already developed, already proven to be enjoyable by his playerbase or go all in developing new content that might or might not appeal to the players? Imagine being an investor with millions on Blizzard stock, what would you prefer? Play Russian roulette or easy fucking cash by re-releasing old, already-developed, fault-proof content?
@Livestream Fail dude you're being quite ridiculous with all your comments. TBC had more content than classic and an actual Pvp system (that isnt a contest of /played), and it still had all the game designs aspects that made vanilla great. it's the best version of wow.
Do all of it, merge servers if populations drop too much. It really wouldn't cost much to create separate servers and teams to manage them if handled correctly.
No, wotlk is the downhill. Accessibility, LFG-tool and the worst raid ever (ToC/ToGC) are all spawns from wotlk. No attunements for anything, free epics for everyone. Dk's were overpowered as hell for half of the runtime. Wotlk was a bad xpac. What made it good to most people was Arthas, the fact that they started in wotlk and rosa tinted goggles. Edit: Bc gave you really good gear for tokens, too, but acquiring these was much harder with Bc's heroics. The Wotlk icecrown dungeons were a epics spitting joke.
So, they will be rushing to the Classic expansions, and the game will become retail 2.0. I can hear the private server developers undusting their keyboards again...
I personally quit when legion came out I just didn’t like the game anymore but, I’ve started playing again with classic wow I didn’t get to experience it I started during BC
Yes I barely got my weapon in legion and hated what they did to my main and on top of that I was burned out from playing in two different raid groups during WoD
UNPOPULAR OPINION: I think once Classic runs through it's phases, TBC should take it's place. No transfers, no community splitting - Classic just enters new phase, TBC phase. After TBC is done, WOTLK phase follows and with WOTLK it ends. This gives Classic(Vanilla, TBC, WOTLK) good 6 years run time and once it ends, all characters get deleted and Classic starts back again from Vanilla. The main advantages of this approach in my opinion are avoiding Vanilla getting stale and boring after everyone goes through all the content, and of course, it avoids splitting community into many different expansion options. You also get to value expansion more, as you know it will end at some point. In a perfect world Classic plus sounds good, but it's too damn risky and has high chance of going south.
u gotta give people a place to play at 60 if they want to play at 60 cos they been pushing for it for freckin years for it to only last a year? These people would just leave and go bk to private servers..they still be people playing classic if tbc servers came out it just would go down and some servers would need to merge but i very much doubt u couldnt fill at least 1 server with players. No doubt the big 4 on eu are here to stay not sure how many big servers are on na but china has like 60 freckin servers so no doubt there some big servers there too.

IT makes no sense to have retail, Classic, classic tbc and Classic wotlk realms, its a huge mess. Clean transition from vanilla to tbc to wotlk makes a lot of sense, and is true to how it originally happened.

Well the absolutely 110% thing that eventually ruined the game for me was ow the main characters more and more streamlined... I looooved the three talent trees and how unique each player actually could be. First thing they did that started the ruin was at some point they made it so you had to fill one tree to the bottom before you could start in another tree... And when they removed the 3 talent trees overall for the new system the game was totally ruined... I thing alot of people have it this way.... more content and stuff is okay... But for me all up to this day if they had just kept the versatility and uniqueness for players and characters I feel the gmae would still have been good
complaining about stagnation and begging for new content is exactly what led vanilla wow into the train wreck that is now retail? the same thing will happen again because blizzard wont be able to leave classic alone. that said, if anything is added on top of classic other than TBC i will not sub anymore.
@Qimodis wotlk was good, but one step at a time. TBC would obviously come first. Adding new unseen content to classic would be going against everything that classic is supposed to be. a classic vanilla experience.
