Haha I'm not much of a performative person, so a little slip of the tongue for BIG life changes, etc... are easier and feel more natural than the need for a "big" announcement... The pockets on the sleeves are to fold over to cover her hands so that she doesn't scratch her face. Babies have sharp nails, those are nice to have built into the outfit.

The “pockets” on the sleeves are for their little hands. Newborns tend to scratch their faces a lot because they are exploring their world, so the ones with the built in mittens are so wonderful! 💜 so excited and happy for you! I’m pregnant with my second so I love seeing all the baby things as we are gearing up for another little one as well! 🫶🏼

The little pocket thing on the sleeve is so you can fold it over their hands to keep them from scratching themselves. They work so much better than the mittens!! Cloud island makes sleepers that have zippers that start at the foot as well as the neckline. Those are also wonderful because you can easily change diapers in the middle of the night without unzipping the entire outfit and making them cold! The cuffs and those zippers are two things I wish I knew as a first time mom, they made my life so much better!
