Grace, I was 25 when I got my drivers license and after I got it, I was so happy. I put it off for so many years because I hated parking, especially parallel parking. I learned just “well enough” to pass my license test and since then I never parallel park and avoid any parking situation that makes me nervous. I’ve been driving for almost 10 years now, and having a car and my license has been one of the most liberating things. Also, I failed my first drivers test, but I didn’t let me get it down. I went back a few weeks later when I was able and just barely passed, but I did it! I know you can too!!

I totally relate to the driving anxiety! I’m 26 and I’ve only just got my permit and started practicing driving with my husband. It’s so hard and every time I get behind the wheel I still get pretty anxious. I feel so pathetic sometimes being 26 and still not having a license, but it feels good to know that there are others that are in the same boat. But we got this!! Baby steps!

Hey beautiful girl!! I love these chatty videos and learning more about you. I was an extremely anxious driver, and I waited a while to get my drivers license. The thing that got me through was reminding myself that my car was in a bubble. I always reminded myself that God or the universe (whatever you believe) was holding this bubble in its hand and protecting me and my car. Yes, driving is scary, but you are one strong and capable woman. Your baby girl is so lucky to have you as her mama!!! 💗

Driving in California especially in LA or San Francisco/Bay Area is stressful. If you relocate to a less populated area it will make your experience less stressful. My dad taught me to drive before I was 16 so I had a heads up. I’m a lot older than you (50) and driving in California these days is much more stressful that what it used to be. Many more crazy rude drivers on the road these days. Hang in there! ❤Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy and the joy your baby daughter will bring you. 🥰♥️

i‘m almost 19 and just got my diver’s license about two months ago and the whole process was the worst experience of my life lol, i‘ve never felt that stupid in my life so you‘re not alone with the ego and pride thing!! i believe in you, you‘ve come so far, you‘ll get that stupid license like me!! btw i failed my first test but kept my head up

My mum didn’t learn to drive until she was 43, lots of people were around her telling her “you need to learn to drive!” Which only made her more anxious - so she learned when she felt ready 😊

Getting through this anxiety and getting your license will be a game changer in your life! You’ll love being able to drive here and there like it’s no big deal! I live in a small town with only 2-lane and 4-lane roads, not the crazy stuff like in Atlanta with the 8-lanes of traffic to maneuver. So if you live anywhere somewhat small, you’ll be great!! Nothing to worry about

I've been watching your content since I was in hs (I'm a little older than you by a few months) and this is all so unbelievable. Edit: I just got my license last month after getting my permit twice and failing the behind the wheel test the first time. I cried like a baby, but once I showed myself more compassion and took my time, I passed. You've got this!

Grace I was extremely scared of driving and had unpleasant experiences like yours with drivers ed, the best advice I can give is do what you feel is right & practice. Start driving small distances first and get used to it and then eventually you will be able to drive and park anywhere. I barely drove my car for the first 6 months and after a year, I’m very good at driving and confident. Best of luck to you ❤

I failed my drivers test the first time and got it the second time. I was a late driver too, 23 when I got it I think. It’s okay. You’ll get it! I’ve never had an accident or gotten a ticket so maybe there’s something to getting it later in life rather than as a teenager. Better decision making, safer travels. Love ya, good luck ❤️

why are drivers ed instructors so nasty?? my girlfriend is 25 and doesn't have her license for the same reason. i managed to get mine when i was 19 but i took drivers ed at 15 and a half and still put off my final exams just because those people are so RUDE! good luck girl. you got this. once you get it over with you will be so happy.

I didn’t get my drivers license until I was 29. I grew up in a family full of women who didn’t drive and I lived in a major city. I was so anxious about driving, I’d literally have dreams about losing control of the car and even hitting a pedestrian. Didn’t get my license until I moved somewhere that didn’t have public transit.

I'm 22wks and totally relate to the "dark cloud" feeling of uncertainty and anxiety... It do be like that. This process is all about surrender. Also can relate to needing to get my license and stop taking Uber for aaall the reasons you mentioned. My boyfriend is teaching me too but its hard to find the time to practice. As someone who’s only a few months younger than you and Maddie, I totally get that the unknown is terrifying! Especially when it comes to pregnancy and chronic illness, I’m 25 weeks pregnant with twins and I’ve been struggling with wanting to control things/procrastinating too! I just have to say I’ve been really struggling after having a year of successful breastfeeding with my now toddler and then having my baby last week and her preferring the bottle and not wanting to latch… my supply tanked and I feel like I’m connected to a machine more often than my baby and have felt like a failure because of it… I watched your video while pumping and I’ve gotten the most output that I’ve had so far ❤ so thank you from one mama to another ❤

I was sooo anxious to get my license. I would cry every time I drove when I first started from being so stressed about it (this went on for about a year and a half 😅). Driving felt SO overwhelming. It felt like so much to juggle at once (remembering the pedals, how hard to hit the pedals, watching the road, watching the spedometer, etc. alllll at the same time felt impossible). And when I got my license, I was still very nervous to drive. It took about a year of driving every day to finally help me adjust. Every once in awhile, it still makes me nervous. But now I sometimes prefer to drive over riding with someone because I know that, when I am driving, I control the car. I can work hard to be focused and to stay plenty of car-lengths away from others. Sometimes I drive like a grandma, but that's okay. Sometimes I stick to the backroads because they highway feels too crazy that day. That's okay too. I just have to be patient with myself, and it will be okay. ❤ I know the same can be true for you.

Hii Grace! I want do share some bits of my driving. So in my country you can get driving license when you are 18. Now i’m 19 and tommorow for the first time i will drive without someone with license - with my friend. Because of that i’m a little bit scared cuz she cannot help me with driving and it’s gonna be like a 2 -2,5h drive ahead of us. Also second time on a freeway! I failed my first driving test at 18 because I was rushing to get it since I was “late” to driving!! Going at your pace is best, good for you to stand by that. You got this and soon it will be second nature!!

I had two really good instructors who never shamed me although I failed my driving test 6 times before passing it. One of them once told me to only think about driving when driving and nothing else. I feel like that helped me a lot.
