Hey all!!! Welcome to a really...really random video??? MRE Videos are a thing on RU-vid, a lil cool niche that actually provides some really good unintentional ASMR! A few of my friends really enjoy them and told me I should give it a go in ASMR style, so, here it is!!!! Kinda fun, different :D I...don't think I would do it again LOL but hey. We tried.

papa john personally I watch ads to support the RU-vidr (and it’s how I figure out when new movies come out or just fun add I enjoy so I personally do not have AdBlocker also I listen on a phone so not sure if there is one for it but even then) but it would be nice from some sort of setting for the volume of ads when watching ASMR to be lowered or something of the sort. Complicated I know but a nice thought

My grandpa was in the military and one day when I was little we decided it would be a fun activity to open up some of his MREs. They were pretty old so a lot of the stuff had gone bad. There were "new millennium" M&Ms that had disintegrated into a sawdust texture. It was a fun afternoon

MREs are dehydrated, making it last basically forever without spoiling. Unfortunately, that means it sits like a rock in your gut, and it’s not to great on the way out. I’ve seen other soldiers trade skittles for a bag of natural laxatives, myself included!

Fun fact from a Combat medic: A lot of parts from the MRE can be used as improvised medical supplies! Most notably, the outside wrapper can be used as an occlusive dressing for gunshot wounds to the chest. It prevents air from entering the pleural space, causing a pneumothorax, while allowing air to escape. (Too much air can be alleviated with a needle chest decompression, but I have yet to see one done with an MRE spoon). I’ve also seen the same technique used with a Doritos bag. The “Odds and bobs” bag with the gum can also be used for small eviscerations, or when your guts are hanging out. It creates a greenhouse effect and prevents the need for a constantly wet and sterile dressing, keeping the organs nice and moist as they should be!

You did the right thing recommending Steve for MRE reviews . His knowledge is unmatched when it comes to MRE''s and their history . His videos are amazing and he eats all of it which is always great. I've been eating MRE''s since I was about 10 , my cousin's husband is in the army and would bring some home when I lived with them and I've been fascinated by them ever since . They are delicious in my opinion .. you chose an alright one but the chicken fajita and southwestern chicken tacos are incredible as well as many more .

Yeah the Julian date but there's no way that MRE is 8 years old. Might be something else. Most MREs expire after like 2 or 3 years and they just starting using the "sleeve" for the main course maybe a few years ago.

Also first of all, they don't replace the packaging, if they did it would preserve the MRE, it would more likely spoil it. Not to add the fact that MRE's are stored in a climate controlled environment. So when trying to sound smart, actually know what you're saying is correct.
