[ASMR] Sophon's Tea Ceremony 

This video is based on one of my favourite science fiction “The Three-Body Problem” trilogy written by Liu Cixin. To help you better understand the conversation here’s a simple introduction of this story. Spoiler alert. Three-body civilization is a more advanced civilization which is about 4 light-years away from our solar system. They have 3 suns in their system so the living condition is tough. Earth civilization sent out messages to the universe in the early years. Three-body received those messages and decided to invade. Their first interstellar fleet could only travel at 1/100 light speed so they needed 400 years to arrive. Sophon is an intellectual detector made by the three-body civilization responsible for surveillance, communication, and locking up Earth technology development. And it’s actually a proton, and three-body can speed it up to light speed. So it arrived very early. Here I need to explain some language stuff. Proton in Chinese is 质子（pronounced as zhi zi）and because it’s an intellectual proton so in the book it’s called 智子（also pronounced as zhi zi）. 智（zhi）means intellect. So the translator combined soph- and -on to create the word Sophon. And in Chinese 智子（zhi zi）sounds like a female Japanese name so later in the story Sophon controls a man-made body with a Japanese woman appearance. The conversation in this video is a scene from the last book of this trilogy Death’s End. Hundreds of years have passed. Now I need to explain a very important thing -- Dark Forest Law. Every civilization in the universe is like a hunter with a gun in the dark forest. Each hunter needs to be absolutely quiet and hides his own trace or else he will be found and killed by other hunters. Civilizations need to develop and expand, but the total mass and resources of the universe remain constant. And when it comes to universal scale, you can never tell whether a civilization is truly friendly and peaceful. The suspicion among civilizations cannot be eliminated. That’s why every civilization sticks to the Dark Forest law, hides itself and eliminates other civilizations if it finds one. So Dark Forest law is the writer’s answer to Fermi paradox … In the book, the three-body fleet never arrived (even though their second fleet can travel at light speed, some accidents happened). When the conversation in this video happens, the three-body’s home planet was already eliminated by other super civilizations. They captured the coordinates of three-body planet, broadcasted by the escaped Earth fleet to the universe. Because earth and three-body had information transmission before, it's only a matter of time that earth will be discovered by other civilizations. So the earth is meaningless to the remaining three-body people now. Their escaped fleet turned to other directions and Sophon is leaving too. Before she leaves, she invited two human friends to her house and have some tea. This conversation happens in China so even though Sophon has a female Japanese appearance I chose a Chinese way to do the tea ceremony. Three-body problem trilogy is really an excellent science fiction. I haven’t read the English version, not quite sure about the translation. But if you are interested I think it won’t let you down.
