I love snowmobiling but have never been able to get over the loud roar of the engines... I don't get going out to enjoy nature and being the loudest thing around for miles. This is a game changer for me. Cant wait to buy a pair next winter!

I have been riding my whole life and as an electromechanical engineer I love to see innovation however until some things change and people get over the fact electric is pretty amazing this is the best place to grow the business is with resorts and patrol in my mind. Don’t get me wrong I love a nice powerful gasoline engine just as much as the next guy but this has so much potential. Great work taiga

Super cool, maybe I'll see one at Aspen next year. Do they have problems with them being too quiet, sneaking up on people? I know that's a unique thing with EVs.

Most ski resorts require all snowmobiles to have a buzzer on while in operation, so no problem there

When will these be available in norway for purchase?
@paulo4232

My only concern is how will the battery fair when it’s not plugged in for a certain amount of time? Lithium batteries are very weak when their core temperature is cold.
@Ratkill9000
@Ratkill9000 3 года назад
On a good day, they are supposed to have 89 miles of range.
@PaulO-ew3hd
@PaulO-ew3hd 3 года назад
You’re missing the point. Is that 89 miles on a county maintain plowed road doing no faster than 35 or 89 miles boondocking or trail ripping and speeding? Me thinks the range is only susceptible at low speeds on plowed roads.

Where are these available to rent in alaska. I'm curious of how efficient these sleds are. My favorite sled is the skidoo tundra extreme 154 2" paddles. because it's the best of both worlds from steep mountain climbing to towing a heavy otter sled if taiga develops a snowmobile that matches the power of the current tundra xtreme I'd order it in a heartbeat

How far does this go on a charge in cold weather? Give me an estimate 40-80 miles?
@1943vermork
@1943vermork 3 года назад
Their website saying 130km estimated range for a 25kWh pack. This is obviously under ideal conditions, like flat terrain, groomed trails, not too cold. Not bad for 3$ or 4$ of electricity.

Taiga is developping marines ones also

Living in Alaska would I need to store it in a garage during sub 0 temps. Can I use a genorator to charge one?
@taigamotors
@taigamotors 3 года назад
You can leave it outside at -30C no problem. Sure, you can use a genorator

@@taigamotors that sounds awsome I'd sure like to test one out. With my tundra xtreme I usually pull the largest of the otter sleds when I go on ice fishing expeditions. It's very good on fuel I usually never have to fill up .I wonder how far the taiga could pull a 300 lb. Load in 3 foot of snow on a charge.
@gmpartsguy9614
@gmpartsguy9614 3 года назад
So I'm sure this may be a question that can't be answered, but are they based on one of the big OEM's sleds? These "look" a LOT like a new Gen 4 REV Ski Doo based machine.
@taigamotors

Nope, designed completely from the ground up

I can fill up my sled in 20 seconds at a cabin 30 miles from any source of power. If it cant go backcountry its a bonified gimmick.
@Ratkill9000
@Ratkill9000 3 года назад
Give it some time for the battery technology to get better. The prototype only has an 89 mile range on a good day.
