@@SGTDuckButter ya I think we need to know more about taiga batteries and charging needs first. My camp solar system is a 6kw system with 3000 watts of panels. The downfall is winter I make a lot less energy. Being lake access though I only need to travel 5km, then a few more to ice fish and get firewood. So it maybe possible to get by for the weekend. I'd still keep my titan as a backup though for sure.

Just remember these sleds are really in their infancy stage. These will be great today for things like hotels, ski resorts etc. They won't have to replace them every 3 to 4 years like a two-stroke, won't have to deal with oil and gas, they have inside storage and the ability to Quick charge which only takes 20 minutes. Perfect solution for them.

If you replace every 4 years because you wear it out you’ll replace electric also, you’ll have minimal charge capacity left. 2 stroke is easy and cheap to rebuild, battery is easy and expensive to swap. Less parts on ev. I see everyone takes a side. Future is electric but do not underestimate ice. We can have them both until we go antigravity fusion core dark matter 😂

Great video. I love the sound of the Atlas. It actually reminds me of high end RC cars. Taiga's success will hinge on their ability to find the right target markets. Early adopters will help validate the concept (range, cold temperature performance...). But, they need broader market acceptance with the segments who buy new every 1-2 years.

That thing sounds awesome, you guys are getting me pumped for this product. I know you said it is being released for next year, I still say we'll see. No pricing information available at all except "starting at $15,000" - sorry that is not good enough. I can see what any other snowmobile will cost, I'm not interested in Taiga until I can see numbers. They announced releases in the past that didn't happen, I have been following Taiga from the beginning, so I'm still skeptical. Show me the numbers Taiga - I skipped buying a new spring order this year because I wasn't excited about the other brands' "innovations" - but this is truly exciting. I want one, but if I can't put a price tag to it, and don't know how I would buy it, there is no point in looking.

The one aspect I really appreciate is the low noise level. As a motorcycle rider I understand well the fun aspect of riding a snow scooter ( I have so far only been twice riding one myself) , but as a nature lover I like the silence out there in winter time. In some areas in Sweden it looks like the snow mobile rental industry has really taken over the landscape in winter, very much to the annoyance of everyone who is out there to enjoy the landscape in silence. On top of that, many Nowegians are taking their snowmobiles over to Sweden. In Norway riding is banned mostly anywhere, vice versa in Sweden, so there is A LOT of snow mobile traffic in some regions. Sadly I doubt that electric scooters will be widely accepted within the foreseeable future.

just wondering if there is a feature where you can set a waypoint on a map and the sled will calulate how much energy it will take to get there? so it makes sure you get there.....like it can notify you to lay off the throttle or you'll never make it, and an option setting to limit your power output for the sake of reaching your destination, if you should ever need to....

Very cool, a real issue initially will be being able to find charging station on the trails. With Gas, bars and restaurants can offer a gas pump where 100's of sleds during the day can fill up within minutes. With electric even a fast charge will take 30mins, and limited by the number of charging stations at that location. So i dont think we will see very many of these on the trails for another 10+ years. Great start though...

What’s the range on it. And how long to charge the battery. And where can you charge it. At any lodge air restaurant you might stop at. I don’t think so. Sometimes riding up north it is hard to make the distance between gas stations. This would not be a great sled for that. I think I will stick with my gas snowmobile thanks.

Do they make a Mtn sled? The awesome thing is a 180 hp gas motor at 10,000 feet is probably only producing 120 or so but with this electric sled it will be producing that hp at all elevations something that has me really excited!

Looks badass, great fit n finish. Looks good moving down the trail. I'm not comfy on rider forward designs but if I bought a new sled to go with my old wedge's (Keeping my '03 and '04 ZR900's of course!) I'd buy this over everything else offered from other manufacturers in a heartbeat since I've been watching this company develop these sleds and they are remarkable. Keeping my big bore 2 strokes as well as all the smaller ones though. Nothing like a 2 stroke, any and all brands !

A deep snow version with some lugs would have been great. Thinking that the deep snow versions Summit, RMK, M models are really the attractive versions in other brands.

Cool innovation, but will only be feasible to an extremely small market for years and years to come, if ever. The infrastructure necessary to maintain a large northern market seems almsot undoable. I for one just could never give up the scream of a 2 stroke. The smell of a 2 stroke. I dare say I'm not alone.

These sleds are good on their first charge for 62-83 miles max , depending on the system you bought. The mileage quickly diminishes after that. Taiga sleds are not for the serious or weekend trial rider. Night riding when extremely cold stay close to home. The faster you ride, the faster they drain, cut 62-83 in half
