When I ordered steering gyros from RC Castle earlier this year it took three months to get to LA. This was transit time. RC Castle shipped the day after I ordered it.

Ouch!! I'm so glad I didn't have to wait that long. They shipped the day after my order also...sux it took that long!

I got mine in 6 days as well. I live in Sarasota Florida and the gyro came through the port of Jamaica New York.

How do you adjust the brake force on this module? the brake seen to be locked up? I read your note below - so I basically have to trust that the wheels will not lock up on landing?
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 3 года назад
Yes, there is no way to change the braking force on this module. Like you said you have to trust is won't lock up. I've tested it on a treadmill like a dynomoeter ...i know a crude test but hey ya gotta use what ya gotta use right? Lol at speed I don't see them locking up only when the inertia is gone and it's almost stopped. If you want something that adjusts brake force look at the xicoy LG15 I will be doing a video on one soon

I pull the wheels apart on the jp brakes and packed with axle grease, sounds crazy if your trying to bring your plane to a stop. It stops alot smoother and will save tire wear.

Great video as usual, I installed one on a BVM Bandit. I used the gear out to control the gear valve servo. It worked great for a while and when I went to try again the gear servo did not work. The controller is getting the gear in signal from the RX and everything else like the gyro and brakes work fine when gear down and cancel with gear up signal. Do you think the gear valve servo is too much current draw for it and stopped working?
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 6 месяцев назад
Amp draw might of been a buy much for it.

Hello Thats weird. They should work at fast speed just like going slow. what kind of brakes are you using? how many volts are you supplying the assan. tour assan, is it the one just like in this video or do you have the new pro model?
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 2 года назад
Ciao Quello è strano. Dovrebbero funzionare ad alta velocità proprio come andare piano. che tipo di freni usi? quanti volt stai fornendo l'assan. tour assan, è proprio come in questo video o hai il nuovo modello pro?

Maybe you’ll know, but what’s the difference between this and the Assan AG68?
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC Год назад
AG68 is also a retract controller as well
@jasonmeadows7008
@jasonmeadows7008 Год назад
O ok thanks. So the 68 will simplify things in my case combining the retracts and brake controller all into one box. Thanks for the clarification!
@Flying-xh9kj
@Flying-xh9kj 3 года назад
How did you make this work with the retracts? Mine are a two wire connector and the controller does not recognize it.
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 3 года назад
This is not a gear controller it just does brakes and steering. You will need to use a separate or original get controller and Assan just for braking....what controller are you using?

@@NoonzAirborneRC The MFC-2085 board that comes with the HSD Viper Jet. I was hoping to use the gyro and brakes.
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 3 года назад
@@Flying-xh9kj ok so what I did was this for brakes I went from the RX ch straight to the assan and bypassed the mfc 2085. The steering (I always use a separate ch so I can trim separate. Go from the rx (using ch9) to an open aux input I used aux 5-1 then move the servo wire for steering from I think it's aux3-1 and put into aux 5-1 out from mfc or what ever open you use...this way you don't have the gyro attached to rudder surface. Now your gear chanell will go from rx to Assan input and output goes to MFC where you had your gear before (just unplug your gear input from mfc attach to Assan and gear out to mfc...this way gyro will know when gear is down. Hope it helps...if you need further help. Shoot me your email I'll send you my number and I can walk you thru it if ya need or fb call live and I can run thru it

Have you tried this in the Viper? I have one coming to try and hoping it is ABS. Ralph with Global Jet says it won't lock up so I am skeptical but hopeful. LOL
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 3 года назад
Yes I have. Ok the nitty gritty on the ASSAN...Remember you get what you pay for......as far as "ABS" no not really. The brake is either on or off...it is not proportional so you can not adjust left or right separately nor can you adjust the force of both. It either on of off. When you drag the plane by the nose slowly it does lock up the wheels. But at landing speed I didn't see them "lock up" the nose wheel is the only thing that has a "gyro effect" flew the Viper 2 weeks ago on JET DAY! She stop straight as can be. My tires are worn and replaced to make sure they don't lock up. It's a great gyro for the money. Many people like it and use it at my field. I prefer the xicoy LG15...a little more $ at $160.00 but the features! Proportional brake, separate gyro on the brake. The ABS feature is awesome as you can adjust the pulse (how much it pumps the brakes, sounds like a rachet). Seperate steering gyro (can use either gyro feature or have them working together) plus it's a gear and door sequencer all in one little touch screen package. The Assan did it's job tho.

What's the max voltage from the Receiver this can handel
@NoonzAirborneRC

From the RX ive only ran 7.4 volts and for the braking it can take 2-14s

Great video! I´m looking for alternatives to prevent my turbine jet to sideslip off the rwy (its in the top of a big mountain) when i hit the brakes...i´m using JP ER150 that comes with the landing gear controller + brake controller but despite the knobs to regulate the brake power (brake controller) there´s no effect at all in make the brakes even (seems like just fake) so plane is always going off rwy,,,its been a PITA! Do you think this Assan can help me in that? Can be used with JP (running a Lipo 2s for landing gear + brakes). Thanks for the help and good flights!
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 2 года назад
Yes this will help!!! I had the same issues with my jets. JP are a good economic brakes but they are not matched as one always brakes more than the other. I would recommend if you wanted the ASSAN to get the AG63 "PRO" does the same thing as this one but on the pro you can adjust brake pressure so your tires dont have a chance to lock up. The one in the video only has full brake on and off. you can see the PRO version in action in my JETMACH 60 videos. you will still use the JP gear controller for the gear. I just pigtail the 7.4v to both units. Now if you want the best!!! that is the XICOY LG 15 controller as in my REBEL HOT videos. Its a brake, steering gyro and gear controller all in one!!! better overall as you have a screen and can fine tune everything. your can adjust the brake pressure for both wheels or each one individually. Also has a version of braking that acts like ABS brakes on cars where it pulses the brakes to keep them from locking up. Look at the jetmach and rebel videos to see the differences. Here is the link to the XICOY...It is the cheapest price on the internet by $100.00 www.ultimate-jets.net/products/lg-15-gear-controller All my jets with JP gear and brakes act like yours does but the assan pro and XICOY WILL FIX IT! Thanks for watching!!!!!!!!

@@NoonzAirborneRC Hi there mate...so i just got my AG 63 PRO and will test tomorrow ...anyway i still have some doubts i would like to have your opinion please: 1. In the ground i´ll still have the control of the nose gear? For example if i need to make a correction/turn in the landing (i.e. avoid some object) i´m afraid the nose gear gyro will conter act this movement/my input. 2. My Rudder is connected to a gyro (together with AIL and ELE) what happend if i follow the manual and connect in the AG63? I´ll loose the RUD gyro function in the air? According with the manual the AG63 power supply is provided by the RUD channel in the RX (maybe connect the AG63 input in any RX open space?) Thank you very much!!!
@NoonzAirborneRC
@NoonzAirborneRC 2 года назад
@@rafa090581 yes tou still maintain full control 9f steering. I usually run a separate ch for steering mix with the rudder to make it simple to wite it the way tou want I would run a Y from tour rudder channel. One to your gyro and other to assan. The steering serco will be powered what ever voltage your RX is putting out. The gear ch must be plugged if using retracts this tells the gyro when the gear is out gyro on and gear retracted gyro off. This way the nose gear isn't turning in the fuse. If connected and it's backwards and or tour gyro is correcting the wrong way follow the instructions to correct basically turn on assan with the gear out and go left right on the redder stick and HOLD the last right at end stick. The gyro flashers and done!

@@NoonzAirborneRC thank you very much for your attention and patience! I also have a separate channel, one for the nose gear steering and other for the RUD (mixed in the TX)…for AIL, ELE and RUD I use hobbyeagle gyro (for ex the RUD , AIL and ELE servos in the plane connects directly to the Gyro and other cables connect the gyro to the RUD/AIL/ELE channels in the RX…using your suggestion i ll use a Y cable in the following sequence Airplane RUD servo ->Gyro -> Y cable (one end to the RUD channel in the RX and the other one to Assan)…the point here is to no loose RUD stabilization in the air (if I not mistaken the Assan gyro in the RUD is only activated when the gear is down right ? With the gear UP Assan is deactivated)
