A follow up to my Ezio tribute video, as quite a few people requested one for Altair. Again, its a short video, using his words to his son Darim during the 1257 Mongol attack on Masyaf. I found this randomly: "Mar 28, 12 re: Is Altair real? Actually, he was a real character and it is taken -almost- from the history. The real Assassin was call Ebu-Tahir whom alredy created great problems for Seljuk Turks. He assassinated Nizamulmulk, and also Meliksah. Ebu-Tahir was a skillfulled assassin. He was also called "El-Tahir", as well as "Ebu-Tahir". The "El" is generally used as "Al" in western countries. So; El-Tahir turns into Al-Tahir; and also called: Al-Tair. Result is: Altair"

I remember playing as Ezio in Assassin's Creed: Revelations and being in that murky darkness of the chamber that lied past the keys I spent many days on. As Ezio progress deeper into the chamber, I thought I could prepare myself for any last fight. But I did not expect to see you, Altiar, sitting in that dusty chair for centuries, welcoming Ezio and I in the final steps of our journey. But also bidding us goodbye. Rest in Peace, Altair. I'm sure he reunited with Maria once again.

I never was a fan of AC1, the only time I liked Altair is when I read the novel. Then I found a respect & admiration for him. This tribute is sweet, thanks, for all the effort :-)

I realized that in Ezio's and Altair's speeches they sound really regretful and that was a question asked a lot in revelation's " do you ever regret it ".

Wow, Altair died at the age of 92, while Ezio died when he was 65. That's a pretty big difference

This vid is amazing, i luv how the music glorifies and lightens the mood to emphasize altair's graceful movements. But on top of it, it makes it so dramatic, i especially love the parts at 1:39-1:44

Connor's gonna to be good, I'm sure, just like Ezio was, we actually saw him age, we saw him born in AC2 grow old trough the series and die in Embers... But there will never be anyone like Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

Damn, Esco. I thought I overcome the sad feeling that was in me after Altairs and Ezios stories were ended, but here it is once again. Those two vids are great nontheless, but I kinda doubt that Connor will be as important and as loved by fans as Al and Ezio. At least I hope he will be more than a stone-cold brick that he appears to be in previews.

The only reason you couldn't swim in ac1 was because of a "glitch in the animus"(the devs couldn't be arsed making a swim animation). You actually see Altair swim in a cutscene in Assassins Creed: Bloodlines.

Actually I'd just like to point out that yes, Shia are Muslims. It's a sect of Islam, like Protestant or Catholic is to Christianity. Just thought I'd mention that :) I haven't gotten to play Altaïr, I've only played Assassin's Creed 3, Connor was AWESOME

Great tribute :) But can't help to give at least a bit of criticism, I think there were a bit too many scenes with altair holding his hands like he was praying, but that might just be my opinion

What's the source? I'm a descendant of the hashashin and what I know says that there where no assassin called Ebu- tahir. The reason to that the name is Altaïr is cuz that it means "the on that flies" in arabic and that kinnda fits in to the assassin's creed universe, and eagles have always been a important part in assassins creed

If you really played AC you would know the characters are all fictional. True, they don't exist but their creations were "inspired" by real people and historical events. Nothing is true, but Everything is Permitted.

No, not really, in multiple polls Altair proved to be way more popular. So with more games staring Altair, more people would like him, yes, but not "like Ezio" cauze he's already more popular, but hey... that's just my opinion. Great vid though.
