I don’t see why people hate Connor they say he’s emotionless but in reality I think u would be to if u saw ur own mother burn to death I actually loved this game
The other thing to think about is that he's doing all this stuff on his own technically. He has no other people watching over him like Ezio and Altair(sort of) did.
The thing is, the homestead missions is skippable. I accidentally skip the entire side missions on my first playthrough and have the same complaint about Connor being dull and boring. The second time I played it, I complete the homestead missions and finally love Connor as a character, in that missions, the personality of Connor shines so bright.
This scene always gave me goosebumps. Imagine if Haythem told Connor about how he saw Edwards death as a child. Both worked with the same people that wronged them. Haythem with Reginald and Connor with Washington.
Yes the opposite thing is: Luke was able to convince Anakin out of the dark sight while conner had to kill haythem, and haythem had no regrets and still stood to his convictions.
Brandon Owyong Connor had to kill his father because it was in defence Haytham was going to kill him. Connor killed him to save the greater good the future of the American brotherhood.
@AllThisLovex Haytham wasn’t going to kill him, just choke him until he lost consciousness. If Haytham truly desired to kill his son he would have used his hidden blades
@@odd-eyes6363 Haytham wanted Connor to kill him. In his journal before he died, Haytham wrote 'this mat be my last entry' and he let go of Connor's wrist, which he knew about the hidden blade.
This interaction shows why Connor is not “dull”. It’s within a Native American to be calm and collected, even when having immense emotions. Like Connor, they show their anger and grit on the battlefield.
The book has weird retcons. Yeah, it's 100% true Haytham would do to manipulate into Connor into the Templars, but at the same time it's weird seeing this scene as non-genuine.
Some said Connors voice acting was flat but I disagree. Native Americans are usually more reserved and the way Connor speaks shows that perfectly and when Connor is angry the voice acting shows that very well.
Because Charles Lee didn't burn his village, it was George Washington. Haytham knew this, but didn't tell Connor because he knew he wouldn't believe him.
Well, you have a whole book with Haytham! He has lied many times throughout the AC3 game, and I was quite shocked when I read the book! And Haytham learned of Ziio's death long time ago, and was actually kinda depressed over it. He's the one who saved Connor, not Achilles. Thing is Haytham sees Ziio in Connor and that's why he didnt kill him, but thats just my opinion here
Probably didn't believe it, probably just realized that the Templars must do their thing to win and he can't be going and killing his comrades. Maybe Charles somehow tricked Haytham into believing he didn't do it.
@@Cruddy129 I honestly don't know what I was actually talking about when I wrote that comment 9 years ago, but I am well aware of Washington being a dickhead
They executed this whole "Connor's dad is the main bad guy" rather odd. I found it strange that Haytham knew who exactly Connor was. It would have been so much more cooler had Connor revealed it to Haytham while in the midst of battle. Oh well.
And apparently the Foresaken book revealed that he knew Ziio was dead and that reaction he did knowing the news was just fake so he can try and sway Connor Of course as seen here, that didnt go as well as he had hoped
Agreed. I found it odd too that Haytham already knew about Connor (how did he even find out?), but I don't think it would've been as blunt of a reveal as reichstag10 says. It could've been revealed slowly to Haytham with hints like who is mother was, and Haytham would've started wondering etc. etc. I honestly thought, before I got to the scene where they first meet, that that's how it was going to happen.
Haytham: Charles, i cannot stress this enough; Leave the Native people alone. Especially my baby mama. Leave her alone. I plan to come back and continue tappin that. Charles: Right, got it. (proceeds to write "choke Haytham's kid and burn the village" in a notebook.
I agree, they wasted all the potential of Haytham's story. Firstly, as much as he's enjoyable, he should NOT be the first character to be played as in the campaign, and his story should be revealed to Connor AND the player in bits. And it should never be like "He's a Templar and that's it." The player should keep wondering "Is he? Is he not?" Of course, seeing how rushed the ending was...
This was such a great scene...too bad they decided to do nothing with it in the end. No twist, no great plot discovery or turns...none of that. The drama this scene sparks just ends with this scene...
I don't care for Connor as I did Ezio. Haytham is oddly my favorite character. Shame they killed him, Ezio, and Desmond off. Bad move Ubisoft, bad move.
I blame the script not Haythan. Charles's Lee & friends leave & go back to Boston. Leaving Connor alone with a message. On return the village is burning & he tries to save his mom but fails because of script. If Haythan/Charles L & friends did do the arson we would know by cutscene/dialogue. But nope a piece of paper walked into the village & commanded it to be burning. Connor returns script says go save mom, connor fails because of the script it is not possible to save mom. As a sacrifice for character development. Script like Juno screw around & is mainly responsible for all evil in the series.
I feel like if Connor was a little bit more calm and was able to explain the situation to Haytham he would have been able to turn him against Charles Lee
I meant Charles, you could see it in his eyes that he was practically obsessed with you, and you nailed then bailed his mom and magically expected him to like you after not being there for 21 years was it
well he is a grand master... how else would any other grand master behave? They were terrible at making assassin's creed 3.... haytham let connor kill him, charles lee is a coward, connor most of the time is being disrespectfull and arrongant... assassin's creed 4 and rogue were a lot better tbh
How i feel about ac3 Playing as Haythem is intresting making me as the player i felt awsome and curious as to what was out there for me to find. Haythem as a character is intresting and mysterious. When switched to connor the game got more bland as he doesnt have the same appeal as his dad does. Connor is just boring
