We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ru-vid.comUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.
I bought an Assault when it came out. I wasn’t happy with the amount of slop inherent in the design. The echo was 200$ cheaper for a while. The echo has actual buttons vs crappy touch things. If I could go back I’d get the echo, but the Assault has taken me to the pits of suffering no other device has come close to and for that I appreciate my purchase. Thanks for sharing!
+Brandon Campbell Diamond the worst part is I shot the entire video, transferred my files to an external hard drive, started working on the video (at 10 pm) and realized my mic was turned off during shooting 😂
@@GarageGymReviews I regret buying a AD PRO it's like peddling through concrete and mud I hear the Rogue and old assault bike is a bit smoother I will sell my AD pro and get a Rogue they put too many fan blades in the PRO right ?????
Thanks for the review! I've used both bikes and I honestly like the Assault bike better. Especially for a home gym. It has a smaller footprint and its a lot cheaper and will probably last much longer than the Rogue bike!
Hi, I'm weighing between the Rogue and the Assault now. Could you tell me how much maintenance does the Assault require? Considering a daily home use for a persevering beginner. Thank you!
If I could only choose one, I stand my initial declaration in the BikeErg review that I would choose the BikeErg. If I was training for the CrossFit Games, I would go with the Echo Bike or AD Pro, but since I'm not, the BikeErg reigns supreme IMO.
So, chain is better for a car but not for a home bike? I wonder how often do you need to lubricate it? I have never lubricated my normal bicycle, but I do not use it that often
Coop, I haven't heard any mention of bearings with your review or on the Rogue site. Is the Rogue bike made using sealed bearings at pivot points or bushings? Also, What is it about the Bike ERG that makes it so appealing to you? Apparently, it is more enjoyable to use. Why is that? I'm interested in that machine but for $900 and weighing less than 60#, I just can't rationalize it being worth it or solid enough. Thanks for another interesting and entertaining review!
Hello congratulations for everything. I wanted to ask you, in your opinion, how to focus on the quadriceps, to also obtain hypertriphic results on that muscle, is this better or a spinning bike?
Thanks I found this review incredible. I will probably go with the Echo bike since I need one now during this coronavirus debacle. Love Garage Gym Reviews.
Yeah bro get the Rogue IDK about the Air Assault bike but I own a AD PRO and it has the most fan blades out of any bike and it sucks it's like peddling through mud they made it too extremely hard
Have you checked out the Cascade Air Bike? I tried one today, briefly, and it appeared to be solid. The price point, $1,800.00, has me thinking that I should grab the Rogue. If you ever get a chance to compare, I would be interested in your thoughts.
Can you use air bike just like spinning bike if you want to? Can you lock the arm part so you use just your legs? Or do you have to ignore swing of the bike arms?
Good video. Really been liking your videos lately. I'm sure traffic has shot through the roof with the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down all the gyms. Keep up the great work!
I work on the equipment at my gym and we have 10 air assault bikes. These bikes are a maintenance nightmare. I don't think they were designed to take the beating that we give them. Issues: constant adjustments, constant lubrication, rust from sweat. You have to use locktite on every bolt so the thing doesn't fall apart.
Hi Coop, I’m looking to get an air bike. I saw another review by someone else showing the Rogue echo bike being quieter and better than the Schwinn air dyne pro. However, I always take your opinion over everyone else’s regarding fitness equipment. In your opinion, which one is better, (regardless of price), the Schwinn air dyne pro, or the rogue echo bike? Also, What would you get first… The air bike, the concept 2 skierg, or the concept 2 rower? I’d appreciate your feedback. Thanks, Daniel P.
Have you used the Echo bike regularly since this review was published? How has it been holding up? Any issues with the belt slipping or things coming loose?
First, thank you for the review. I've worked out 45-60 minutes on an Precor elliptical for almost 20 years. Just wondering if you've made a video on which would give a better workout, an elliptical or a bike such as the ones you've compared. Before I bought the elliptical, I was debating on which to buy between the Precor and the StaircMaster 4000 which would give me a killer workout at the gym. I ended up buying the elliptical because it was easy on the joints. Thank you.
HI! I was going to buy a used Stairmaster air bike from my local gym but the one that's for sale is really beat up. They also have a Schwinn Airdyne AD pro, but I find the arms too low for me. I am 6 feet 7 inches and I fit the Stairmaster very well.... What I want to know is; The Rogue Echo looks perfect for me. You've had it in your gym. Have really tall people used it? Thanks!
How does the arm/grip compare to the AD pro? Is grip distance to the pedal similar to the assault bike? AD pro has a strange arm/grips design for me. The top horizontal grip too far away and bottom horizontal grip too low.
Thanks for this overview. I just got the Echo bike, and after putting it together I was wondering if the pegs are supposed to spin and if the handles are supposed to have a little play in them. From watching this vid, I learned that it's "Yes" to the peg spin, and seems to be "Yes" to the play in the handles from the way you were moving them.
Great review, Coop! Question: Echo bike vs Schwinn AD7 (pro) @ same cost? I know you said the edge goes to Rogue but that factors in price. Price being equal which one is better and why? Thanks so much, love the channel!
Ooh, that one's tough. They're both really great bikes. I prefer the monitor and handles on the Airdyne, but like the overall build of the Rogue Echo. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with Rogue for my purposes.
I had the echo and got ride of it. Very difficult took me a month to get up to a decent 20 minute ride. Granted I am not a cardio fiend but even going easy very difficult. I rode my sons Assault easy go was easy and I could then ramp it up. Chain maintenance a pain but not that a big a deal.
Juat found your channel the other day been hooked, entirely new to home gym but am considering a bike... i just came across a "vintage" schwinn airdyne on facebook for $50, look really mint, and states in "outstanding working condition". Any idea if this is fair or are older ones scrap? Thanks!
Well the airdyne pro just dropped 400 dollars on amazon maybe because this bike came out, factoring the newly lowered price , the air in the face effect, should I spend the extra $100? Or wait for the echo bike to come off backorder ? Airdyne pro is now 900 instead 1299.
My crossfit gym asked Rogue for a refund on the 4 Echo's they just brought in due to the belt slipping after only a month of use where the Assaults are still going strong after several years. I couldn't disagree with your review more. The Assault cycle is the choice of my gym!
The Echo sounds like a good airbike but I wondered about the reliability. All the reviews I saw were from people who just got one, not from people that have been using them for a long time. Thanks for the comment. I'm trying to decide which one to get.
I have the Airdyne Pros and no issues at all, way better then the assault bikes I had a few years ago, and way quieter, havent tried the rogue buke yet though
I got a Schwinn AD7 a couple months ago. From what I heard it is the same as the Pro version but it is sold with a home warranty. I have been very happy with it. It was easy to assemble. After the first couple of uses I had to tighten the bolts for the handles but they haven't come lose again. Even if they do they are very easy to adjust. No other issues. I have used it for both steady aerobic sessions and HIIT. I'm 50 and it is a great machine for HIIT without impact on the joints.
I have been reading issues people having with belt drive air bikes. This is why I feel chain drives are still more reliable. And I dig the "momentum" when working out vs belt drive.... feels too much like an elliptical. The only one pro about the belt drive is lower noise
For those of us in a garage gym with limited space would the larger size of the echo bike sway you towards the assault bike? Or would you consider losing a little floor space worth the improvements of the Rogue bike. Thanks
That's a good question. I don't think it's a big enough difference to matter. The Echo Bike certainly is bulkier, but the difference in space taken up is negligible.
Thank you for this review!!! I’ve been following the assault bike on Instagram but came across the Echo bike because of your review...I am convinced that I want the Echo bike...the noise factor and durability sold me since I want to put it in the extra bedroom of my apartment 🙌🏽
So I have an older airdyne, I use it outside but I feel is loud, rickety and disrupts the neighbors. On a scale of 1-10 competed to the assualt, how load is the rogue? Just wanting to know so I can make the switch.
Winner Rogue Echo?? I don't speak English. The Rogue in Spain costs 1.000€, la Assult Classic 780€. For the price difference it is worth it Rogue, TRUE?
Coop, you should be making infomercials. You are very professional and have a lot of energy for doing reviews. Rogue should hire you after this review!
I would actually really like doing infomercials haha. I enjoy public speaking and am constantly practicing to become a better communicator. This is a big compliment for me. Thank you!
Great review! However, it's hard to gauge how loud the Echo Bike would be in an apartment. Do you think that the Echo Bike would be quiet enough to use in an apartment. I don't want to purchase one if I can't use it at 5 am. Thanks!
Between the echo, xebex rower with new monitor, or C2 rower, what is the best investment? Leaning xebex cause it seems solid and comes with a bunch of stuff, and echo bike sells out after 2 minutes and can't do cardio in the snow.
Coop awesome reviews. Can you explain why you would get a ski erg rather than a Echo Bike. I'm in the market for one or the other and I'm curious as to why you would prefer one over the other. Also, how is the resistance of the Echo Bike (fan) vs. the Assault Bike?
Having used both of these I still prefer the Assualt bike from a user experience point of view. The reason for this is that I do some drills that involve constant speed changes. The Rogue requires lees torque to spin it up and down so the workout does not have the same intensity. I agree that the belt drive and construction are superior to the assault bike. I have seen the fan blades on a rogue come away from the central hub.
joel thomas Afternoon all, looking for a bit of advice. I’m a mobile personal trainer so I travel quite a bit, I currently have a golf TDI hatchback. I’d love to buy an assault bike but I don’t think I’d be able to put the seats down and pop the bike in the back. Would it be possible to get a bike rack and put this on the back perhaps?
Would be extremely Interested in the lycan Bike review, most compare it to the airDyne models but some gyms are using it as a Echo Bike. I have used all 3 and feel as it relates to a AirDyne belt driven system as it’s feels like a echo. But the Airdynr’s give more calorie faster then both Echo and assault. Please review LYCAN AIRBIKE
After my own experience with drivebelt driven equipement in the past, I still choose the Assault over Rouge. A bit more noise isnt a problem. Also, doesnt matter how overly built the Echo is, the rubber belt is its single weakest point and potentially makes it an expensive paperweight. While, the Assault chain has been tried and true. Changing the chain is pretty easy too.
I’m the oddball I guess. I actually prefer the chain driven system over the belt. The belt driven system feels a little too smooth and easy to maintain the max effort if that makes sense where as the chain system makes me work a little harder to sustain the same effort. As far as maintenance goes, our fire department has them exposed to the elements and we abuse them with several classes of fire recruits using them in addition with the guys already on the job and they work just fine.
$775 right now for the Rogue Echo, but Black Friday is right around the corner. I know they have gone down to $699 during previous Black Fridays, but does anyone know if they do that every BF?
+Richard Grzegorczyk personally, if I could only have one, I would choose the BikeErg. Unless you're competing at CrossFit regionals or above, I would get the BikeErg.
To be fair to the Assault Bike, that is a clip of Rob Orlando (CrossFit OG / Hybrid Athletics in CT) taking a sledge hammer to the Schwinn AirDyne, NOT the Assault Bike.
Kal Baker it’s a cardio bike that will help your conditioning in basketball 🏀. Yes it will help you be a better basketball player because you’ll be in better shape💯
