Your commentary reminds me of the late, great, Murray Walker (but with less mistakes 😉), absolutely brilliant! I was on the MX5 server at 6am this morning and it was almost as bonkers as this, just at a slower pace 😂
Ahh thank you mate, there’s no greater compliment than that! Although if you ask my European viewers, they’d probably say there are plenty of mistakes, given how disastrously I pronounce foreign names 🤣 Good to hear there was equally enjoyable carnage in the Mazdas!
Thank you mate, yeah couldn’t agree more! Hadn’t really practiced enough to have confidence in finding the right balance between hard braking and locking up, so opted for the cautious approach!
Mate, this was an insane race for me as well. I was in the same race as you and while trying to avoid the chaos at Turn 1, my tablet (aka my wheel) disconnected and I went round and straight into a wall with major wing damage. So I pitted and after setting consistent laptimes, I went from P26 to P13 as shown at the end result and alos got my first Iron & Bronze license as well to top it off. Now I know to never give up! Btw appreciate your upload speeds and videos, always love them.
Haha oh mate, that T1 carnage is literally the WORST possible time to have a disconnect issue 🤣 well done for sticking with it though, even after the pit stop. P13 is a great finish! I had pretty much settled for finishing around P13 as well, until the entire pack in front wiped each other out! Crazy, crazy race. Hope to see you on the grid again soon!
Definity will, Daytona next week should be fun as well. One small tip, in these LMP3 cars you can brake wayyy... later than you think even with lock-ups. My throttle and brakes are buttons so I lock up on all braking points on the track yet my temps, pressures and tire wear were fine. Need to use the in future races as well.@@chrisrogerssimracing
@@itsaditya_09 That’s good to know. Seeing how many people in front of me were locking up, I did guess I could probably push a bit harder. I guess lock-ups are fine as long as you’re going in a straight line! A couple of times, I locked up while trying to turn… and ended up going straight on 😂
There were several points in this race where I wasn’t expecting to finish! Think I must have been the smallest tap away from getting a meatball flag, the amount of times there was contact. Crazy, crazy race
You were up early this morning. I nip to McDonald's for a wakey wakey cappucino, sit in the car to have it, turn on RU-vid and you'd just uploaded a video 3 minutes ago. That was a pretty big field you had to navigate, so an excellent result in the end. That was all down to tactical brilliance. Let everyone kill themselves and each other while avoiding trouble yourself. Same tactic I use in Fortnite. This race was like a Battle Royale.
Yeah, did the race yesterday but wanted to get the video done before starting work. I was a little bit loose as well in this one, but yeah mostly decided to hang back when I sensed danger, and it paid off. Thankfully my own mistakes were relatively minor compared to a lot of the others! Cracking race though, really enjoyed it.
Haha, no, it’s probably not the best advert for clean racing! Guessing there’s a lot of first-timer racers trying these AC combos, on a very long lap to learn. By all accounts, most races have been like this one!
I’d certainly recommend it! The driving standards have been a bit, erm, questionable in this combo! But despite the danger, it’s still a lot of fun to race
I've a friend at work who drives LMP2's as Gold driver in real life. Certainly more action in that race than he ever sees I'm sure 😂 Great finish though, and really unlucky on that last chicance, but 7th place was still epic!
Haha yeah, and the big downside… safety rating counts forwards your ACC licence too. So in this race alone, I lost enough SR to send me back into the rookies on ACC 🤣
Manuel Beltran? Did you encounter the famous Spanish pro cyclist from the noughties? 😆 Awesome video btw. This game looks so good on the TV cam. Not so much the lacking cockpit details, but doesn't matter too much.
Haha it’s possible! However, I did definitely encounter the Prince of Sweden in my recent ACC race at Imola 🤣 As usual, I was completely oblivious to it at the time.
Carnage d'Arnage 🤣 Well if you think first chicane at Monza is bad - welcome to LeMans - rolling start would definitely help here - out of 5 races i did so far in 4 cases I've got some damage there, and in 3 cases i had to stop for repair after first lap just because some people will send it anytime anywhere :( in the remaining race i just cut the chicane when i saw what is happening and made it to P5... Anyway my biggest enemy atm is the righthander before the straight, it's pretty easy to hit the inner sausage, which will send you right onto the sausages on the left and pretty much into the wall (at start they've used different track mod, but this one is better, more challenging and definitely more fun)
Good to know it wasn’t just my split that was absolute mayhem. I know exactly the corner you mean… I found that one really tricky as well, and the shape of the cockpit doesn’t help… you have a big blind spot to the right, which makes it very difficult to find the apex accurately.
@@chrisrogerssimracing well if the side of the cockpit wasn't there, you wouldn't see the apex over the right front wheel cover anyway :) in that corner the apex is just hidden behind the horizon, so you have to guess where it is :)
Thanks! Yeah the standards weren’t great in this one. I’m guessing it’s down to a lot of new players, combined with a very long lap that takes more time to learn. Hopefully we’ll see standards improve 🤞
I hear you can over ride the audio mod used for the car, I think the current mods is a bit lower quality. Nonetheless awesome video! Been trying to get into a race but all the splits are full for hours ahead. They need more servers!
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of people question the sound. Must admit I didn’t pay too much attention to it… I’ve never driven an LMP3 before, so I had nothing to compare it to. Crazy how quickly the splits are filling up though… I registered a good hour in advance for this one, and it was pretty full then.
Havent jumped into a race yet, just practice sessions to test the cars and tracks. I fully respect how hard it is to create a fully functional car mod, but this LMP3 prototype mod being used for these races is very rough around the edges. The physics are a bit off, the cockpit is a bit rough and it sounds absolutely terrible (You can hear the sound samples looping every 2-3 seconds), and this put me off driving it entirely. I think they need to find some better options. The MX5s however, given they're a Kunos stock car, sound and feel fantastic. I think I like them better than the MX5s in iRacing. Keen to jump into a race soon.
That’s interesting. Never having driven an LMP3 in any sim before, I’ve got nothing to compare it to. One thing’s for sure though, there is no shortage of choice with AC, so it’ll be good to see which combos they choose next 😃
The sound is indeed awful, tried practice it yeterday but couldn't endure it, had to close the whole game. Plus the textures are awfuly bad as well, don't know why they decided to go with this mod.
Good question. I’m not sure. I certainly didn’t have to do any time trials or anything in AC, so if you’ve already done the ACC one, you’re clear to race. I don’t know whether new drivers will still need to do the ACC licence test, to race on AC or rf2 though?
Nice one Stu. For ACC, I usually aim for Mondays or Tuesdays, most often the 4.15pm or 5.15pm races, or sometimes the lunchtime one. Yeah just give me a shout on Discord when you’re racing 👍
Great race. Congratulation for your 6th position. But why do they choose this lmp3, the cockpit looks ugly. (outside looks great.) There is so much great looking protos in assetto corsa.
Haha yes! It was my first experience of driving an LMP3, and I really struggled with the cockpit view! Great fun to drive, but not the prettiest view from the inside. And I struggled with having so many extra blind spots… particularly finding apexes when turning right!
Haha don’t worry my man! Have you checked your notification settings? Maybe they’ve been updated. I took nearly a month off videos a few weeks ago, maybe RU-vid thought I was gone for good 🤣
There’s a link to it on the Low Fuel Motorsport website mate, just go to the AC section and choose the LMP3 series… there’s a list of required download links there 👍
I think you get too nervous Chris, your racing is good but you always give up your positions out of fear, you need to relax" have a coffee before the race and be aggressive!👈
Oh yeah, I was very nervous in this one! Had no confidence at all in my braking… I hadn’t been able to find the sweet spot between heavy braking and locking up. So when it came to being two-wide or more, I figured it was safest to surrender 🤣 I feel I may be a bit more competitive if I get chance to try this one a second time… I’m hoping to over the weekend 🤞 Cheers!
@@chrisrogerssimracing I understand completely, but the majority of times you race safe you still get taken out"🤣, so the odds are, if you race more positive you might stand a better chance of finishing higher up" 🤔
Yeah, the general driving standards in this one were pretty bad! So many mistakes being made (myself included). I’m guessing it’s because it’s such a long lap, and people haven’t learned it so well. That doesn’t excuse the rejoins though 🤣
You got to take in to consideration the cost of entry for less than $10 on sale this will be some people's first experience of online ranked racing, even when you look at the entry list there a significant amount of people who have never raced on LFM before.
@@Dustezz Yeah this is a very good point too! To be fair, all in all it was nothing worse than what I’ve seen on plenty of ACC or iRacing servers. The vast majority of mistakes were just missed braking points. The rejoins were very bad, but again - it’s nothing I don’t see on a weekly basis everywhere else 😂
Saw people on discord driving this with keyboard arrows, plus ac is not known for racing. For a long time it was a glorified screenshot and japan highway simulator 😅
yeah, I've seen just as much chaos is iRacing. Possibly people not used to AC, it can be a bit flaky on the controls. RF2 I've seen plenty of chaos too.
No need to apologise mate, I know this channel and my video style certainly isn’t for everyone! Just trying to make it unique and different from the others. Thanks for stopping by 😃
Haha yeah, not the best! I mean, I was pretty messy too, but at least my mistakes only took myself out 🤣 guess there are a lot of people trying LFM and online racing for the first time with AC, and also a very long track to try and learn. I’m still amazed I survived it 🤣
