The older generation supercars where more mechanical with limited technology, had to be balanced..... Power, weight, durability, road holding and braking. Only sooo much that could be done!!! Modern day saloons, supercars are all about technology, drivers aid, turbo charging, different types of gearboxes. There are stages of development!!! Normally aspirated, variable valve timing, turbo and supercharging.... combination of many force fed types. Now hybrid, electrical etc. Today's cars are not just produced.... there is a whole history of development that made them what they are today!!!!
185k in the 90s I assume. Dear god what a ridiculous price tag for an over powered brick. The Diablo still looks stunning today and I bet its worth far more than the Aston is today
I like how slow these cars are today. A modern hot hatch would smoke them 0-60mph and even probably match them on a quarter mile. A Golf R for example. They would get beat up around a race track. Modern cars jut have way better tyres, brakes and transmissions. Performance metrics have moved on enormously.
Yes and it's better..........na not really the golf r is a lump of soulless metal and plastic whilst most likely quicker yvou cant beat soul and how it feels
Golf R is souless and is like a Robot. And the Diablo would do mid 12s. Modern cars are to easy to drive , I would have an F1,F40 over any modern Supercar. Give me an Escort Cosworth, RX7, etc over a any over priced German car.
@@jamesrobert4106 Probably none of these choices. People have a bit too much romance for some of these cars, most older Lamborghinis really aren't very good to drive and I have driven a few. The earlier Diablos are horribly clunky and awkward, the Aston is rather ugly as far as Aston Martins go. The Golf R is boring. Perhaps a late year Diablo would be ok, they were much better when Audi had bought Lamborghini and the model had a facelift with a bit of VAG money.
