2 cars with center driving position 1 car with rear place sideways 2 electrics Sprit still stunning Lagonda 1st Merc HatchBack Prowler, one of the few to made it 4 three seater
That’s exactly the same thought I had. I had seen some clips of the Vantage on YT recently and I thought it was an honestly weird looking Aston Martin. I assumed it was from the weird limbo period just before they were acquired by Jaguar. Boy was a shocked to find out it came out WITH the Jaguar built DB7 lol
I would have liked to see him at the Brazilian MotorShow in 1988 that bring for the first time a car with Electronic Fuel Injection in there, lol, and see his reaction
200 miles range was probably a lie. GM's electric car was interesting but deeply flawed, batteries would overheat or drain in cold weather. It probably couldn't meet those promises in real world conditions.
200 mile range on an electric......like now? And like the year 1899. All the billions in taxpayer $$$ wasted on EV "tech", & they still have a range of only 200-250 miles. Absurd & moronic.
@@brandonthede7452 an ADVERTISED range of 405 isn't the same as DOING 405. And whatever you believe, Brandon, a battery car still stops at the power station 3 times more often than my Cadillac....and takes 20 times as long to fill up! Try harder, sport.
Thanks for proving that you know nothing about lithium ion batteries & power delivery,@@brandonthede7452 "...a 1500 mile range if it had 19 horsepower"?! LMAO! Yet more proof that people who believe EV "tech" no nothing about EV "tech"! Which is another reason why EV is a joke.
"...don't mock, this might be the shape of things to come"; well he got that right as far as battery power is concerned, thankfully not the shape though!
A prototype which came before the XK8 (which was to replace the XJS), but never materialised. …The DB7 and XK8 share a lot of underpinnings etc with the XJS.
That raccoon is how they imagined us in our sci fi future. In actuality it's some prick in front of me in the fast lane in his ID4 with adaptive cruise control turned on
Clarkson has been criticized for being a dinosaur scoffing at electric cars and “resisting” the advancement of the auto industry but here he was speculating the future of electric cars 20 years before the cool kids decided that teslas are the future. He even told the viewer not to mock the funny looking electric fiat. There are many examples that would show he is not only some joker who is stuck in the past but someone who can assess the future of things very well. He mentioned in a top gear tour in china in early 2010s that china will be toppling the western monopoly of the auto industry with their dom market and look where we are now.
When one turns 35 or 40 one recognizes that the, "cool kids" were often the asshats in school....even the aforementioned , former "cool kids" admit that. When you mature & realize that, Brac, you'll also realize that EV "tech" is still stuck in the 1890's with 200 to 250 mile ranges, 1/4 of a day to recharge, with "AutoPilot" that's killed dozens of people, & even spontaneously combust as seen on hundreds of RU-vid videos. Step away from the EV Kool-Aid, kiddo.
Image making a masterpiece like the Viper, then making something god awful like the Prowler which doesn’t even have a V8. That’s Dodge/Chrysler for ya.
Man, the 90’s were a rough time in car design. All the interior elements look like cheap ugly plastic, and the exteriors are often overly rounded and garish looking.
Thankfully, just as with the Triumph TR7, this dopey econo-box Fiat at 2:09 was not, "the shape of things to come". And the Ferrari 348 Testarossa was anything but, "lovely"....sorry Jeremy. The styling, particularly the juenile-looking side strakes, were simply ridiculous & *AWFUL* ! The worst looking Ferarri since the Mondial.
Just like Miami Vice proved that pink polo shirts with the collars up & linen jackets with the sleeves pushed up were good fashion choices too, right Emilio? What's a, "pinafirina"? A cocktail of some sort? LOL. Your points are invalid.
