Well done mate, those hub bolts are hard work ! I'm sat waiting for mine to be delivered (front right) and just like yourself I will be on the floor outside replacing it without any fancy tools just honest hard graft to get the car back on the road ! many thanks for your video!
You done a good job there mate specially for doing it on the floor you got there in the end and specially figuring out different thread sizes most people would’ve carried on doing them up lol but you the man good video and good content as always 💯👌🏼
I guess another way of removing the hub nut without an assistant, could be to leave the wheel on the car and remove the centre alloy cap. Apply handbrake, then heave ho on your breaker bar with your socket through the middle of the wheel. But anyway the screwdriver in the disc method is a good one. Dont apologise for not following an "official" procedure, you did the job and you did it properly, good job Craig.👍👍👍
You got there in the end mate. Good work. If the wheel bearing was faulty it would have given you an ABS warning light on your dashboard. I’m assuming you didn’t have that so you may have caught this problem before it became worse and resulted in the warning light appearing. I had the same problem with my SRI. Noticed the whirring noise for a while. Turned up the music and ignored it 🫣..but eventually my ABS warning light came on. I changed the wheel bearing myself which is the same procedure you’ve done with the VXR. Once done the warning light went out. Job done. Always use copper grease to the bits that need them. Makes life much easier if it’s being taken apart again. Well done 👍
Been there so many times, working on suspension always is physically exhausting with seized items that include levering and lots of whacking with a club hammer. Often I start one day, get so far , hit bit of a wall, get refreshed overnight and finish off next day. Those wrong bolts were a challenge!
Awesome video as always bud. Love the car and love seeing going round Redditch. Where u get ur wheel bearing kit from bud as need to do both sides in my sri turbo which is same kit
Yo mate can I just buy black indication surrounds for my corsa as they currently are silver.do I just pull them off and fit black.ones any advice much appreciated hope all going well bro
What's the saying "your only ever one bolt away from a 3 day job? " Hats off to you though I didn't touch mine in that heat. Awesome content though so every cloud aye 👊
It’s the journey of fixing a car that makes it special haha! Did you hit the hub when trying to remove the track rod end? Because you need to, quite hard and quite a lot sometimes to shock the ball joint. Hitting the nut isn’t shocking anything
I done one on a zafira vxr. The thing wouldnt come out the hub. it was a nightmare I done loads but the vxr zafira was nightmare of a car it was bodged up damaged car everything was broke on it took me months to make it mint for mate
@@Yodaracing1 lol I wished I thought of bolt. Keep up the good work on your channel mate. your advice will help others out with there astra zafira vxr.
Hi mate! How much did it cost for you to have stem seals done? I have Blue smoke, only when idling for a while and the revving the engine, or pulling away. Annoying.
You know the bit behind the hub you removed thin peice of metal have u checked your caliper isnt rubbing on disc now i had to put that back on was a pain haha
