It's a great 5* app! At this moment I'm making a simple device to mount it to any of my telescopes! And thus taking it along on my upcoming holiday! 😊👍🏻
I used Astrohopper for the first time last night. It took little time to figure out, although the tutorials are helpful. As I get more accustomed to this app, I can see it becoming very useful. Last night, I used it to find M6, M22, Andromeda and Saturn with my 12" Dobsonian. Great stuff!
Thanks much for taking the time to post this. I've been trying to use it without much success and your video helped me understand what I was doing incorrectly. I will try again and if successful, post here again!
Update. Thanks to this video I can now use the app. You do need to align it fairly often, i.e. aligned on Arcturus I was not able to make a big sweep all the way over to M11. Of course, my rather low end Android phone may be a large part of that issue. I had success using it in much the same way that I used to use star charts and a finderscope field to star hop to an object. I would align on a major star, move a bit to the next one, align again, move to the next one, align, and so on, incrementally getting to my target. This worked well and star-hopping in this manner I was able to navigate to M13 and M11 easily. Again, thanks for posting this!
very cool. Thank you for all the efforts you have put into this.. I have a 12" dob and if the weather ever clears (near Seattle WA), I will give it a try!
very nice video brother, Thank you for all your hard work put into this video, btw what type of green laser pointer are you using in this video thats pretty cool to point out stars and such to family members (its hard to point out with your finger only haha) I'm like its right there(pointing finger), wife"where i dont see it", me "right there, there!!! are you serious you cant see it, its THERE!!!! :) haha I need that green laser pointer brother Help!! lol, also what kind of red light do you use, and thank you so much for your help to this community, you are Greatly appreciated brother! GOD Bless
I just use generic 5mw pointer, it works well enough for me but I'm in a region that doesn't get very cold so it works fine, from what I understand these do not work well in cold weather unless they're specialized
Good product! I have the following question: when I "re-allign" I don't see the cross-hair sign - is that true ? Or should you start the app again for a new allign point.
There are ids of galaxies/nebulae like M31 but not names - due to simple reason - lack of screen space. However you can search by name and when you tap on a target when selecting it the name appears
Yes, there are. Quality of sensors vary from model to model. There is no specifics but be aware that some old or low end may now have sensors that aren't accurate enough.
I Have Watched This Again…And You Make It Look Complicated..Ill Stick With Just Using My Goto’s,Guide Scope And Guide Camera…Much Easier..And Doesnt Require You To Have Your Phone Out,Which I Hate..My Laptop Is The Only Device Out With Me..Phones Ring When You Dont Want Them Too
